  1. Simon, those pictures and video are stellar Wars could be ended if they were to sit down and enjoy the video and pics you just shared with us Everything around me went silent as I watched,,,,it is like we were sitting there right beside you, transformed into the peace and serenity of mother nature, I'm booking a flight LOL, get another lawn chair Cheers John
  2. Chris I totally agree, he was one to do alot of trench work to get as he used to put it to get THE BAD GUYS not the people who were hanging out and chilling enjoying some much needed downtime enjoying the outdoors. He loved to see people hanging out and enjoying their day on the water just like he loved to do,,unless someone was really drawing attention to themselves for being an idiot he would not even bother approaching them, we both agree Cheers
  3. My brother did and it almost cost him his life, would u have taken his place that night ,,,I doubt it, it ia amazing how people can talk tough behind a glass screen , I can tell you where he is , maybe you should go visit him and thank him for 30 years of life changing service
  4. I agree with Drifter big time, the marine patrol might be one thing BUT my brother who is 20 years older than me who did serve with the OPP had his frigin knee cap blow out by a bullet back in the day when Parry Sound still had their own police force, they asked for assistance from the OPP , my brother resonded to help them and it almost cost him his life, and yes there were no portables back then, he limped back to his cruiser and by the gace of God he is still alive in a nursing home just outside of Bobcageon, his wife is still living in his original home just outside of town, And yes there is also a picture and plag of when he chased a stolen car with some (bad ) guys at the Aurora detachment formerly OAK RIDGES from HWY 11 north towards Bradford. At the bend just past what is know the drive thru at TIMS there used to be an abandoned brick building, my brothers cruiser went thru it and tore the top of the cruiser off, he still went over across the parking lot and pulled the suspect who was face down in some water so he would not drown. He was awarded a medal from Ottawa, when I call him at 72 often he does not know who I am. Please be careful how u judge, but in fairness he was from old school, real school with all do respect BLIZZ
  5. PS8 that is not just an amazing looking meal it is a work of art What would u suggest for times and temps on a bbq, I would put some chips on first Thx john
  6. I wish the Leafs well but my question is , when they are paying that kind of money out to the coach as well as the players salaries how can the franchise make money. Does anyone know after these expenses what is a profit margin for the season, just wondering
  7. Ha Ha I did the same trip today, Tibbett is only open 20 ft from the shore, the same for Pontoon, Madeline wide open, with the temps this week we will be in better shape for sure, Peninsula still pretty much froze over still
  8. I am not sure but we always disconnect the wiring at the hitch before backing in the water, just to be on the safe side, no power no shorting out
  9. Absolutely, Everything is expensive now a days BUT if you don't add it as a feature you will always regret it. Dan hit it bang on. It made a world of difference on our old fibreglass boat when swapped the old motor out with a newer one with power trim. The ride was much better not to mention fuel savings
  10. Awesome and big. We used to throw them back till we moved up here. A neighbour gave us some fillets wrapped in bacon did them in the oven mmmm good Glad u had a great day
  11. Happy birthday Joey from north of sixty. I would hope u get spoiled Cheers John
  12. I learned the hard way too, when installing new bearing buddies only install as deep as the inscribed ring, make sure the vent hole is clean and try to use a piece of wood between the hammer and the buddy. Glad it worked out for u, when u buy the next pack buy two so u have a spare
  13. x 2 from personal experience
  14. I am with Big Cliff that chicken ball dish looks awesome Rick you have to share the recipe for that one
  15. Glad u got back safely, like others mentioned it is hard on the nerves, had the same thing up here many times last year, but instead of the fog it was the smoke
  16. And I am happy just to tie up my shoe laces LOL, great video
  17. Thanks Spincast, my wife and I are going to give it a try this week, thanks for sharing Cheers John
  18. Spincast that looks delicious, I see a second chef in the works What store bought pasta would be close to what u make and what all goes in the roux, and how hard is it to make your own noodles thx john
  19. Cliff do not laugh to hard but what is Montreal smoked meat, I guess we have been up here to long LOL. We scored big time on two packs of ribs yesterday, thought of you while there were bbqing with the smoked paprika and sea salt d..n there good
  20. That pasta looks pretty darn good Years ago my brother who lives just outside Bobcaygeon used to raise is own chickens that were grain fed, and like Rick and Big Cliff mentioned what a difference in flavour. It was like the difference between a store bought plastic like tomato as opposed to eating one fresh from the garden lol
  21. Well done Dave, there is a saying I think it was from Churchill ,,,you make a living by what you get,,,,,,,you make a life by what you give. Hats off to you
  22. Thanks Fisherman, ecmilly, Sinker and Dave, enclosed is nice and makes great sense but out of our budget, looks like the steel one seems to be the better choice for durability, thanks guys for the input John
  23. The only reason I am posting this now is we will be going down to Alberta soon and they have much more to choose from Thx again
  24. I know this was recently covered for a haul trailer but here is my question For trailering 2 snowmobiles of a distance of occassionally 100 km one way and usually no more than 50 km one way (the majority of time) and over a paved road which can be bouncy in spots would we be better going with an aluminum trailer or a heavier steel trailer. We currently have a double wide tilt trailer trailer but I find it a pain to load or unload. We are wanting to get a fixed flat trailer with a loading ramp I like the idea of the aluminum trailer only because when the sleds are off it would be easier to maneuver around the yard Thx John
  25. Speil that looks delicious, wish you could send some fiddle heads up here, miss having those in the spring, they are a tasty treat
