Not 100% sure but I think there's pumpkinseed and bass in there.(bass is closed) the holland rivers close and there is alot of different species available right now. Cheers Jeff
The koppers baits are my go to lures. Slayed the walleye on the perch patterns the last couple years and went through 2 smelt patterns this opener. The golden shiner is my fvouriteb crankbit as well. The only major problem I have had is that smelt baits I had both took on water but apparently the early ones had this problem which I have been told was fixed and the finish wears off very easily. I have a box full of them and will be adding the pumkinseed patterns as well. Cheers Jeff
Thanks guys ended up fishing off eastbourne. 4" in 62ft
of wat. 2 herring both quickly released, a ton of perch and missed a laker 25ft down. Cheers Jeff
jan 1st on gull lake but some lakes in that area are open all year. Check your regs b4 heading out on a lake someone on another board was poaching and un aware. Cheers Jeff
Just wondering if anyone could give any reports for the smaller lakes. North pigeon, buller, or lakes around wren lake. I might be heading up there tommorrow if anyones interested. Cheers Jeff
I was also looking at the 6'9" magnum rod but its alittle light for the baits that I typically throw. I had a older team daiwa muskie rod. I believe it was rated for 1-5oz lures and suited me perfectly but unfortunately broke.I've used several st.croixs and gloomis rods but find they are not worth the price tag. I haven't seen the mojo muskie rod yet though.
The rod I was looking at is the 6'9" model I belive. XH, 30-80 lbs and lure weight of 3-8oz. Thats the only muskie model that they show in there catalog. I would really like to see the 7'6" model though. They are selling the rod for just under $90.
Cheers Jeff
I was at lebarons in markham and was looking at the new rapala rtype musky rods. Just wondering if anyone has tried them or any of the other rapala musky rods. Cheers Jeff
I have alot of luck trolling 10-20ft of ater using shallow invaders, grandma and jake lures. I troll the wind swept shorelines and have most of my luck on rough days.
Cheers Jeff
There's some big smallies in missisauga lake. I have caught a few lakers in there as well. There are some really nice shoals in the southern part of the lake.
