  1. I work for petrocanada and can tell you that the only difference between petro, sunoco, esso and shell is the additives that they put in the fuel. All supreme fuel from all companies has no ethanol in them. Ethanol isn't bad for engines. The only problem with ethanol is that its corrosive when mixed with water. When people started using gas with increased ethanol it simply cleaned there tanks out and this caused problems with there motors. Ethanol has been in fuel for a number of years they have just increased the amount of ethanol in the fuel. Cheers Jeff
  2. Went out last night for 1.5hrs and caught afew. Lots of bluegills and acouple herring to boot. Bigger ones should be in the next couple of days. Cheers Jeff
  3. Since I saw snow today and its getting cold I figured I would start a thread for first ice guesses. My guess is nov 25. Cheers Jeff
  4. Try the notty and the feeder creeks of it. There are afew around. The waters low and clear so be stealthy and use light line. Cheers jeff
  5. I have a 93 20hp and runn the 77 with good luck. Partsources carry them aswell as ct. Don't run the ngk's they foul like crazy on those outboards for some weird reason. Cheers Jeff
  6. I'm going to do some fly fishing with my 5wt this weekend and was wondering if anyone could help me out with some info. I already know the lakes I'm going to try I just need some help on fish locations and techniques. I'm gonna try dries, wet flies , nyphs and streamers. I'd appreciate any help. Cheers jeff
  7. I also noticed a minimal mayfly hatch on sturgeon lake in the kawartha's and talking with my buddy he also noticed this on other lakes. We figure it has something to do with the cold weather and water temps. Cheers Jeff
  8. Just got back and did pretty well using koppers smelt baits. Try around shoals between 6' and 15'.
  9. Give crankbiats and spinner rigs a try.
  10. I've caught some big jumbos in sturgeon lake. Check out sheltered back bays with weeds or wood. Emily creek is another good areato fish.
  11. The water still has to warm up alittle bit. 45-50 degrees seems to be the ideal temperature for crappies to come in. If you can launch your boat and head towards the mouth you will probally do best.
  12. My two personal favourites are the snookaroo and the bunny leach tied with large hooks.
  13. I'm hoping I can still drive my 2wd truck out off willow beach tommorow and sun.
  14. Kleenflo #993 or use methyl hydrate as a water remover. Furnace oil is simply a dirtier less refined diesel and depending on your suppliere( Petro Partners adds thermoclean ) some add in additives anyways. Cheers Jeff
  15. I found the same results on those two lakes. North pigeon is all black ice and hopefully the rain got rid of all the snow.
  16. thanks I appreciate it. I will also post how I do
  17. I'm heading out on sun to do some icefishing and was wondering if anyone knew what the ice was like on North pigeon, little wren, and grindstone lake. Thanks Jeff
  18. Hey Jay, check the track for cracks and if its studded check for torn pieces where the studs were. Check the shocks to makes sure they rebound and there not cracked or dented. Last major thing is that the tunnel and heat exchangers are in good shape (they look like mini rads at the back of the tunnel) unless its fan cooled then there won't be any. Cheers jeff
  19. Went after work to the canals and was suprised to find that the canals were frozen and the bottom of cooks bay was as well. Two boats were trying to get to the launch ramp and told me the ice was approx 1" thick. Hopefully be on the canals in a week and on the bay in 3-4 weeks. Cheers Jeff
  20. Bring on the ice !! Hopefully I will be out on some small speckle and splake lakes in two weeks. Cheers Jeff
