  1. Thanks, but i dont think its as great as jumping in my own plane and taking my pick of the lakes....lol....you gotta drop by my house with that toy of yours and take me fishing, damn we could get into some god lakes! Thanks Jacques, i have to admit that once again it was you that i have to blame, your reply to my post the other day asking for pics/vids really got me out the door, thanks bud! and thanks for your well wishes for baby Limey. yup, i'm really enjoying being mobile this winter, was mobile last winter.....dragging my @#$# around on my pink plastic sleigh, but the snowmobile is an awesome piece of fishing tackle!
  2. yup, even got him a helmet as you suggested HAPPY CAT
  3. Hi all, got out for 2 half days yesterday evening and this morning. Not the greatest fishing ever, but just glad to get out of the house! HEADED OUT AND FOUND A GROOMED TRAIL TO A SPOT I"D CAUGHT NICE 26" WALLEYE IN THE SUMMER SOMEONE ELSE ALSO THOUGHT THIS A GOOD SPOT, THEY DRAGGED THEIR SHACK OVER 6 MILES TO PUT IT THERE IT WAS A BEUTIFUL AFTERNOON, I SET UP AND WAITED....AND WAITED.............NOT EVEN A FISH ON SCREEN FOR 2 HOURS! I WAS ACTUALLY PACKING UP TO LEAVE WHEN MY OTHER LINE WENT, GOT THIS LITTLE GUY THEN I WAITED FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER THE PIKE THATR GOT ME TO STAY....WATCHED THE SUN SLOWLY SINKING, ANTICIPATING BIG WALLEYE I MOVED OVER ABOUT 50 YARDS TO A HOLE IN BEHIND A ROCK I KNEW WAS THERE FROM TROLLING IN MY BOAT, AND THERE WERE SOME WALLEYE HIDING IN THERE! NOT BIG BUT BETTER THAN I HAVE BEEN CATCHING ON WABIGOON ALL WINTER IT WENT QUIET FOR TWENTY MINUTES, THEN I GOT MY FIRST WABIGOON WHITEFISH IN JUST OVER 7 FEET OF WATER ON A GLOW JIG AND MINNOW. A REAL FATTY After that little excursion I was itching to get out again so took off early in the morning across Lake Wabigoon from the house to Thunder Lake for some trout fishing, really nice weather we had this weekend, not a cloud in the sky yesterday and today, no wind either! perfect for buzzin about the lakes. SET OFF FROM THE HOUSE EARLY, A BIT CRISP OUT, BUT ANOTHER GORGEOUS DAY STUNNING MORNING ON THUNDER LAKE, AND IT WAS WARMING UP A BIT, BUT UNFORTUNATELY NOT ENOUGH TO BE OUTSIDE THE SHELTER AT 9AM WAS MARKING LOTS OF BAITFISH, AND SOME ACTIVITY ON THE BOTTOM IN 43 FOW, STARTED OFF WITH ONLY MY 3RD EVER THUNDER LAKE WALLEYE AFTER THAT I GOT INTO A SMALLER TROUT AFTER A BIG ONE CAUGHT THE BOTTOM OF THE ICE AND I WATCHED IT SWIM AWAY I MISSED ANOTHER 2 DECENT ONES, THEN GOT THIS WEE BABY TROUT THEN SOME WALLEYE CAME THROUGH ON THE BOTTOM, REALLY DIFFICULT TO GET THEM TO BITE, BUT GOT ANOTHER IN THE END That was it , packed up soon after that walleye and headed home, great few hours over the weekend. .
  4. good stuff GCD....good to see you got out, means less time stalking the tourney section stirring the pot.
  5. Nice one Jacques, I am amazed those perch you catch hit such large baits, ours up here will occasionally do that, but they are more often than not really finnicky. I am also a big fan of those 'fishfry' your using.
  6. too funny, good one guys!
  7. Hi All, been keeping an eye out around the forum, but with the arrival of our first child any day now i aint been getting out much...well....i have been out the front of the house a few times but the fishing is awful this time of year....if ya catch anything its tiny( 4"-6") walleye. I am going a bit stir crazy, but not much i can do about it. My wife is fantastic....she is taking it all in her stride, although her stride is more like a duck waddle these days. Got up this morning, beautiful day, sunny, -15 C, no wind.......lol....guess what i'm thinking Funnily enough i think my cat had the same idea...... GOING........ GOING.................... COME ON LETS GO!!!!!!!!!! Nice try cat, but alas i dont think so...maybe....maybe...tomorrow .
  8. i have the Mr. Heater Big Buddy, it has been really good. It does cut out if i move it too quickly but i rarely have to move it. I did manage to break the screws off on the right hand side cover( the heater takes a bit of a beating in the back of my shelter/sleigh) but customer service was excellent, sent me a replacement part , no questions asked on warranty, even waived shipping charges on the 20lb tank hose with filter that i ordered at the same time. if you get no joy with the dirty intake fix suggested above...give 'em a call, they were very helpful and quick to help out.
  9. great stuff Kelly! good you are able to pass on your fishing skills to Ben btw Ben.....new heater?

  11. Not yet Ben....maybe in a week or so....the baby is due to be induced on Tuesday if it doesn't arrive before that.......i'm kinda grounded fishing wise lol, but i might just be able to sneak to Thunder lake in the morning as i've worked out a direct route from our lawn across Lake Wabigoon...hopefully get my dad some trout for lunch/supper.

  24. Hi All, Yesterday i was treated to an eagerly anticipated trip out to Lac Seul by invite of Benbeattie and his buddy Graham . I have fished here a few times on open water and its awesome for all sorts of fish. The first spot we hit was a narrows in around 25 FOW....buckshots and plain jigs were the tackle....with plain jigs...especially glow winning out in the end. No sooner than setting up my set line went...lookd like a good pull....but never connected. Then the perch kept us busy for 15 minurtes before the bite died. Half hour later the walleye showed. We got around 5 before the bite stopped again. I THINK THIS WAS THE BEST ONE OF THE DAY <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i263.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/vishuscirquel/Movielac1.flv"> MY LITTLE GUY THE BOYS WITH THEIRS After a quie spell....the whitefish moved in, I LOVE CATCHING WHITEFISH!!!! Graham started us off with a real monster at around 26", Ben followed up ith another big one around 24". I got 2 in Quick succession moments later. I think graham got another soon after that. NICE BIG WHITIE FOR GRAHAM <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i263.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/vishuscirquel/Movielac4.flv"> BEN FOLLOWED THAT WITH ANOTHER LARGE WHITIE I GOT A COUPLE IN QUICK SUCCESSION..dunno why i'm almost upside down in this clip....darn cameraman...lol <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i263.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/vishuscirquel/lac6.flv"> GRAHAM'S 2ND COUPLE MORE SHOTS OF THE SAME FISH I CAN ADD A SMALLSH 21" WHITIE FOR TEAM #3 The bite pretty much died after that...i think the guys got a walleye or 2 after that...and a few jackfish. We moved on to another spot after that. On arrival Ben found some treasure....a really cool pair of shades.......which he wore a little longer that either Graham or mydself were comfortable with...lol...just kiddin' Ben. ELTON JOHN ICEFISHING? The depth was a little shallower than our first stop, around 18-22 FOW. Jigs and minnows still the weapon of choie. The perch were a real nuisance...especially with the set lines....but we got a few more keeper size walleye. I got into the Tullibees for around half an hour and iced 5 or 6 which Graham and Ben kept for deadbaiting pike. All three of us lost at least one big Jackfish, and iced a few smaller ones too. I had a hit and snap off at 8' deep and so tried higher up the water column again amonst the tulibee and got a pike on a micro tube...never had a pike hit that high up the water column whilst ice fishing before...which was kinda neat...also did not expect it to hit a micro tube on 1/8 Oz jig. THE PERCH WERE BUSY <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i263.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/vishuscirquel/Movielac13.flv"> WE GOT A FEW MORE KEEPER WALLEYE TULIBEES CAME OUT TO PLAY ALL OF US LOST A FEW BIGGER JACKFISH <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i263.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/vishuscirquel/Movielac20.flv"> BEN GOT THE BEST OF THE PIKE <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i263.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid263.photobucket.com/albums/ii158/vishuscirquel/Movielac18.flv"> WE ALL GOT A FEW THIS SIZE TOO THIS ONE HIT AT 8' DEEP IN 20' FOW.....IT WHACKED A MICRO TUBE I HAD ON FOR TULIBEE/WHITEFISH!! All in all a fantastic introduction to Lac Seul icefishing...cant thank Ben and Graham enuff really, those 2 guys are a good double act...joking all day...great fun, they definitely know how to fish, and they shared some secret info with me too....cant and doesn't get much better than that....oh yeah....i was invited out again....COOL!
