  1. Good work Nip for organizing this event. What time do U plan to be there? I'm going to be there unless work gets in the way. I'll check your posts for final plans. Pls post whether U will have minnows. This would help me out, save looking for a bait shop. No problem kicking in $$$.
  2. Thanx again guys/girls. Long story short I dont't have a digital camera with me, it's at home. When I get a camera, I'll post pix
  3. Thanx again for your input. Roy that video is great. I painted my gear box last night using that young fellas method. Looks awesome. Tight lines everyone. Stay safe
  4. Limey I was also diagnosed with type 2 in June. My problem was a gain in weight. Shot up to 227 punds due to working on a construction camp job 185 kms north of Cochrane. Those camp jobs they feed U very well, then I sit in a crane all day. Not a good routine for healthy living. My doctor originally put me on 4 metformin per day. Wow! I never took a prescription pill in my life!! I decided I was going to beat this disease. I started walking alot more, eating geen veggies such as lettuce, cukes, onions, celery, spinach, green beans also carrotts, radishes. Did not drink sugar infested juice, no cake, pastries or pie. Also ate a 5 oz steak instead of a 1 lb chunk of beef. This all adds up to diet & excercise. 3 months later I dropped to 206 lbs, feeling much better & now only one 1 metformin per day & blood sugar levels of 5.5 - 7.0 which is the norm. I am determined to be off the pills soon. Good luck to U, look after your health. Sorry can't comment on the sled, I only ride 'em.
  5. I love the area, been going there for the past 6 years, after spending 30 years on the Pickerel River & French River. I found fishing the French to be slow or am I just an amateur, not hitting the right spots? Shining Tree & Gogama have numerous lakes to wet a line & I usualy end up with a meal or 2. Not hogs like Quinte or Lake Erie, but, nice eaters.
  6. U may consider a trip to Callander Bay (Lake Nipissing). Lots of safe ice, 3.5 hour drive from Toronto, lots of hut operators to choose from. I don't want to post operators, just google Callander.
  7. Great way to spend a day looking at all the toyz! Factor in all the costs, U could have 1 new free battery. Gas expense, admission, parking (outrageous), lunch, snacks, pop (X 2 if your wife accompanies U). I prefer to deal with the local guy, he'll be there when I have a question or a problem. Alot of the vendors at these shows don't even have a store front. They just travel from one trade show to the next with their inventory. This doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling.
  8. U R right! There should be alot more (females)
  9. minus 18 here in Sudbury with a windchill of -28C. 6" of snow last night. Now the sledders R all smiles. High winds today, had to shut the crane down.
  10. Hey skipper what is the purpose of the tin (metal) walls & ceiling?
  11. sorry about the double post. 1 with commment, 1 without. Don't know how that happened.
  12. Come on guys/girls, that is a nice crappie! Give credit where credit is due.
  13. Thanx again for your replies. This board is awesome!! Ask a question, U get lots of input.
  14. Thanx for your input. That video is awesome. Thanx Roy. Cheap, fast & easy. I'm going to use that kid's method.
  15. Nice fish pix, thanx. If I left Wednesday morning (Sudbury) would I be In Yellowknife by noon Saturday?? LOL
  16. Is there a launch date? I live in Sudbury. Pls email me ,I'd love to come look at it. [email protected]
  17. Does any one know how I could paint my gear storage box with camo colors? Is there a decal/stick on type of material I could use? I just bought a new ATV that is green & tried to match a green paint for my storage box with no success. I thought of buying brown, green, black, tan paints in small cans & & just start painting with different size brushes on the box. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanx Wormdunker
  18. They look awesome. Thanx for the pix. I'm going to search them out here in Sudbury.
  19. Thanx Nip I'll keep an eye on this thread. How's your hut renovation coming? It looks awesome. I just have to do some finishing touches on my hut this week & get my gear mounted on the bike. How much ice at Callandar?
  20. Good goin on the IPhone. It's a great tool. U gotta get an app called "Angry Birds", great game to pass the time while at work. I'm a crane operator, at times I may sit holding a load for an extensive period of time & this releives the boredom. Sorry can't help with a marine forecast. I do know U can get an app similar to Navionics gold chip which shows the great lakes & Simcoe. Costs $15.00. Have fun.
  21. I'll be ready. Painting my hut today. I'll be on the ice in Sudbury this coming week end if I don't have to work. Sounds like a good time. How's the MNR & OPP in that area I don't mind giving someone a ride on my ATV. Simcoe is not good for carrying a passenger. Too many MNR/OPP!
  22. Rodcaster I would say Callander Bay is the South east part of the lake or am I wrong. I was there many years ago. If I remember correctly there is a park with lots of parking available in Callander to access the lake. Some directions would be appreciated. Thanx Wormdunker
