  2. Just bought a Mr. Buddy. Have yet to use it on the ice. Worked very well in my heated shop! HA HA! Any one know where I can buy the hose to connect it to a 5 lb or 20 lb bottle. I'm in Sudbury
  3. I'm picking up a set of chains tonight for my ATV. Ice everywhere here in Sudbury

  5. Thanx for all the replies, many different opinions. The main ingredient is most suits R awkward & uncomfortable. Hell we put many people on the moon, why can't we protect a fisherman, cause fishing is very important!!!
  6. thanx for helping out. I think I'll go with Ice 55. Nice finder & also recomended by my best friend. $499 in my area, $460.00 at Radio World

  8. Bought a 2012 Polaris 500 HO. Really nice! Never owned a brand new one. Got 5 hours on it so far.
  9. I just posted about making a decision on purchasing an ice finder. Is anybody attending the GTG that has a humminbird Ice 55 or Showdown. Would love it if someone would show me how to operate it. I hate reading manuals! Also, I will probably purchase it Thurs or Fri after work. Therefore I won't have extra time to learn to operate it. 3 more sleeps WOO HOO Thanx
  10. I know this topic has been discussed here before but now I'm down to making a decision to purchase an ice finder. I've narrowed my choice to 2 units. I like the Humminbird Ice 55 flasher, but the Showdown has good features as well. Ice 55 flasher looks awesome as u can see your bait moving up & down as U jig & a fish coming up to grab it. Showdown has the dual beam transducer. Is this an important feature? I also like how U can zoom in on a 5' area any where in the water column on both units. Help me out guys/girls. Tell me what u like/dislike about your unit. Have to make a decision before the M & G on Saturday. R they easy to operate? I'm of the older generation, not too familiar with modern electronics. Thanx for your input in advance.
  11. I wanna be your best friend! What's your phone #? Beauty fish! Was this all in one day?
  12. I see 25km winds on the weathernet work? High of -2 WOO HOO! Hey Nip, how deep is the water at your hut? Have the perch been cooperating lately? Looking forward to Saturday. I see there is lots of food & drinks being brought. I'd like to donate as well. What do U need?
  13. Ramakkos in Sudbury have them. Gonna try 1 on. Thanx for your help
  14. I like the fact they don't have the bulky floatation. R they warm? Where would I be able to try them on? I'm in Sudbury. Don't mind driving to Toronto, I'm there quite often. Thanx
  15. Thanx for your replies. I'm leaning toward the Helly Hansen or the ice armour. Flexibility & comfort are important.
  16. My older suit is on it's last legs. It's a buoy o buoy. I find it to be rather bulky, cumbersome & awkward to move around with it on. Any suggestions as to what I should buy. I'm leaning toward a 2 piece as I have the need to remove the top on certain days. I was on Nipissing last Sunday & wish I could remove the jacket because of the mild temps. Are all these survival suits bulky & awkward? I've heard of the new Helly Hansens & Salus suits. Your comments & suggestions are much appreciated. Thanx
  17. Do u have a banner/ sign to help people find U?
  18. Thanx for your replies. Nip I think I was on more of a tour than anything. I hadn't been to Nipissing in many years so wanted to familiarize myself again. Yes I saw all the huts in Callander, but needed minnows. Must be a bait shop nearby. Where is it?
  19. Randy, TJ Help me out. I'm new to Sudbury was looking to do some hardwater today. Went to Cache Bay via Nipissing St. in Sturgeon. Saw a few trucks/trailers at the lake but could not see any huts. How far out R the guys/gals going? I have a brand new ATV so travel is not an issue. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanx Wormdunker
  20. Kyle couldn't make it to your shop. I was in our shop all day Sat. to get my gear ready as I just purchased a new ATV, so had to mount/fit my gear to it. Fished Nip today wasn't too bad 1 perch 11",1 small wally I released. Only fished from 1:00 -4:00. I was still doing final touch ups at 7:00 AM. Left Sudbury 10:00AM. Arrived Sunset Cove Rd round 1:00. Good luck on the launch. Side note. I'm a crane operator. Our company has cranes, boom trucks, trailers, floats etc. I don't set the prices. Call All Purpose Crane Rental.705-693-2004. We have the gear to move your "PALACE" LOL
  21. hey Rodcaster. I'm new to Sudbury, was thinking of heading to Cache Bay Sunday for my first ever Nip trip. Is this a good spot? I love perchin. Shoot me an email if u have better spots. [email protected] Thanx for your help
  22. Love my iphone. Thanx for the apps guys. One I really like is maps. I recently re located to Sudbury, so not familiar with the city. Get a map of Sudbury up, then type in beer store click "search" it will show u the beer store locations, click "route" it will show u how to get there from your present location. Oh yah, it will show u other stores as well CTC, Future Shop, Bass Pro. HA HA
  23. It's called the pythagarean theorem. Sounds confusing, but simple. 3 squared + 4 squared = 5 Thanx Roy
  24. Awesome, I like ideas like this. I'm always tinkering in my garage to fab most of my equipment. Suggestion email your pix to a member who knows how to post pix. In turn this person could post them on your behalf. Just be careful that other person may want to claim your invention as theirs. HA HA
