  1. T.J. You're talking to the porcupine. Glad the camp is open. Maybe I'll get there sometime on the bikes with Denis A. Nipfisher (a.k.a. Blair)
  2. There are picture instructions on the back to follow. I have used my tons of times (even in the truck on the way to the lake). Make sure the tension screws are tight but not binding.
  3. Thank you for another great report. The pics are awesome.
  4. I bought one here in North Bay for $500 (He was asking $700). The guy and his brother bought one each and decided to sell one. So I saved myself a few bucks and picked it up. He provided me with the reciept from Bass Pro and it comes with the full 2 year warranty. He was there for tackle and saw the line-up. He asked about it and was told the same story about the Eagle one for $299 but no stock. Then I spent $200 on the 2010 Platinum Navionics Canada card. So now I have $700 invested in it anyways lol.
  5. There are narrows just past Schells camp going away from the bridge (you'll be looking towards the golf course once you are through them) You can anchor in the calms along the rocks but just on the side of the fast water. If the walleye are there there will be a few other boats and you all will catch them. Only 5 -10 minutes past the camp.
  6. Billy Bob, If I run them separate on 2 transducers will there be interference? What model was the 1st in the X series to be compatable? Maybe I'll look for one used and pick it up for the bow?
  7. If your looking for walleye and using worms get a bunck of packages of Go-Getters. You'll need lots in different colours because you'll snap off on some of the walleye and lots on pike. However if the are biting then you'll boat alot with go-getters. I thought the walleye fishing had really tailed off in the Lady Eveyln chian? It is nice to hear reports of good catches. I look forward to your report.
  8. I felt like I was getting nautious watching the video. Hold the baits still for a second. Keep moving them around causes a blur (or maybe I'm having a stroke).
  9. I have the HDS-5 on the consul of my 17' Starcraft. Can I hook up an older Lowrance X-55 to it? The X-55 doesn't accept eithernet cable? I was under the impression that the power cable would attach to my HDS-5 and share the same transducer???? I can't afford 2 HDS units. I only want the X-55 in my bow for depth / structure.
  10. When I was a kid my buddy used to have a neat stove. It was an old tobacco can with twist on lid. There was a full roll of toilet paper in it and that was soaked in fuel. (None would leak out if you held it upside down as it was all absorbed in the paper). When lit it would burn for 20-30 minutes. To put it out you just put the lid on and it would stop the oxegen and starve the fire. The can would get nice and warm and keep your hands warm. We would often light it for 5 min. then put it out to warm our hands on the can.
  11. I agree with Anders. I have seen a few shows done on Esnagi Lake near Whitefish. There is Lodge 88 and if you go on there website ther are a few deals to be had.
  12. Following the direction of Slowpoke, in the tournament forum, I will introduce myself to the community. Here is my little story about me. I am turning 35 and I live in North Bay. I started fishing when I was 6 and was spoiled by limits of walleye on every trip. I grew up in Kirkland lake but we fished mainly in the matachewan area where my grandfather had a camp. I fish all year round for any species I can catch in my area. I mainly target walleye but LOVE catching big northerns. I moslty fish Lake Nipissing mainy for convenience. I put my shack on Callander Bay and my boat is in a slip at or trailer park in Sturgeon Falls. I have 2 boys. One is 7 and the other just turned 1 yesterday. Biggest fish for me are a 8 pound 11 oz. walleye and a 23 pound Northern. This year I will try to do a little more back lake fishing with my 4 wheeler and my 9' punt boat. I hope I can get put on a team and contribute a few nice fish.
