  1. Don't have the exact width, here with me, but, I'm pretty sure she is less. My boat is a 14 ft Legend Prosport.
  2. My trailer lights have been driving me nuts this year. Always seems to be a problem with one or the other...left acts as a hazard...then doesn't work. Right is fine, then it pooches. Darn thing is less than two years old, and, yes I ALWAYS unplug before launching. Anyways, I'm pretty darn close to re-wiring the whole thing with some new LED's, and, Princess Auto has a kit on sale for $50. Anybody out there purchased it? Thanks
  3. http://www.protacklemuskyshop.com/ Huge selection of Reef Runners, if you can stop in on your way. Try purples and blues.
  4. I hear you, man!! It amazes me how those perch can suck a minnow off a hook like that.
  5. I've tried the Gulp minnows down at Long Point and have no success, Ryan. On the other hand some of the Yum baits trimmed down combined with a 1/8 ounce jig head can at times work as well as minnows. So my answer to the original question would be Yum grubs for artificials. Minnows hands down for the BEST bait.
  6. Was a good day for Blue Fox spinners on Erie yesterday. After catching a feed of perch, I nailed three largies and a much smaller pike (27") all on a #4 Blue Fox.
  7. Very nice, I can almost smell the "eau de la musky" Good luck this weekend!
  8. Thanks, all!! Terry, yeah it would have been nice to get some big pickereyes, but, I knew the fishing had been tough there the last few weeks. The sheepies helped, and, it was great getting Juli's dad out on the water for the third time this year with us. Mercman, Bucktail and Joey...the sheepies really surprised me. Most of the ones I've caught before have been in the 2-3 lb range, with one around 6 lbs off the rocks in Southampton. Scrappy, but, when you start hitting them over 10 lbs, wow! I wasn't disappointed at all when I saw what it was on the end of my line. Any fish that fights like that gets my respect! Wayne, lol!! Sounds like you and Lloyd had a bit of paradise fishing up there a few weeks ago. He keeps telling us to head up Temagami way (Juli's dad, Craig always loved it up there too)...so we are definitely considering it as our end of August holiday next year.
  9. Great post, awesome place Mike!! Looks like the "little guy" is having a blast!
  10. Headed to Picton, from Woodstock, Saturday afternoon with Juli and her dad (Craig) to get ready for a day out on Quinte with Lloyd. After a good Thankgiving turkey dinner at a local restaurant, and, getting to watch the Leafs kick the Senators butts we hit the sack. Six fifteen saw us on the boat and heading out for the usual great time on the water with Fishunter. I've got quite a few pics, and, don't want to make this a long wordy post. Somebody once said "a picture is worth a thousand words" so (with a few captions) here goes... Beautiful Picton Harbour, view from our hotel room Waiting for Walter Picton Bay sunrise Smoke On the Water Rod and planer board Waiting/talking fishing Juli playing her mini-walleye, lol Never took a pic of that fish, but, Lloyd should have had a catcher's mitt on the way Juli launched it at his head!!!!! Craig's mini-gold The BATTLE BEGINS!! Eight minutes later, checking the scale 17.4 lbs of BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!! My freshwater drum PB CAPTAIN FRANK (had to be in Lloyd "caps" if I'm the captain, LOL!!!) Juli's smaller sheepie [Craig battling his behemoth sheepshead 13 lbs of drum...another PB Come Sail Away Happy Campers Juli taking photos, in her glory Lloyd and I (post fishing) We ended up catching and releasing the two small walleyes, and, nailing a bunch of sheepies (Juli also got one around 10 lbs that I don't have the pic of yet). Lloyd, man, it is always a pleasure spending time on the water with you! We all had a great time, and, I know Craig really enjoyed learning some new techniques and talking Temagami with you. Looking forward to hitting the ice with you this year for some fun times. Juli and I also took my boat out on Long Point yesterday. Took home 20 keeper perch, released a bunch of small ones. My 12" fatty Heading home the sky turned black The heavens opened A plate of perch What a great Thanksgiving/fishing weekend!!! Have another day off tomorrow...fishing again...LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!!
  11. Patience grasshopper...all will be revealed when you can take the pebble from our hands.
  12. Have fun, always a great time with Lloyd! Those pesky golden buggers should be turning on soon.
  13. Not too mention, fast stretches of the lower Saugeen!! Some of us have been bottom bouncing there for many years. To me, feeling that hit with your fingers, is more fun than watching a float go down.
  14. I'll have a report up when I get time. Walleye fishing is tough right now...Juli and her dad each got a small one. I nailed my PB sheepie, 17.4 lbs (what a fight!!) took eight minutes to land that pig. Say what you want about them, they have power when they get bigger! We had a great time out on the water as usual!! Looking at setting up an ice fishing trip with Lloyd and some of the other guys, on a lake Lloyd knows. Hopefully Hosey (LOL!!!!!!) and Nestor got some gold!!
  15. Great story!! That's the way to get them hooked. It's the moments like those that make fishing the awesome sport that it is!!
  16. Great summer rundown, Wayne!! Heard some more of the back lake laker story from Lloyd on Sunday. Sounds pristine and amazing!! Thanks for a great read.
  17. Like a bunch of others can't just name one. Pumpkin pie with whip cream (had a really good one in Picton on Saturday night) Pecan pie Lemon meringue
  18. Got to love October steelhead. I remember reading an article in Ontario Out of Doors, by John Kerr, probably at least 20 years ago, in which he said he would trade five (may have been ten) spring steelhead for every ONE October 'bow!
  19. Actually Jr A hockey can be better than alot of NHL games. As another die hard Leafs fan (key word being DIE) was it just me or was this game lacking in the usual Leafs/Hab intensity? I know it was only the first game of the season, but, it was missing that oomph that the match-up usually provides. Hopefully the Ottawa game Saturday has some fire to it.
