  1. Very nice Emil.
  2. It's a beautiful boat - congrats!!!!
  3. I have 30 HP Etec for last 2 seasons, bought it new from Bay City Marine in Hamilton (best price i found in Ontario). So far i had small issue with impeller, which was quickly addressed by Bonnie Boats Marine. Motor is really quiet and has amazing fuel economy. I was looking for Yammy as well, but you cant beat 6 years warranty from Evenrude and their customer service.
  4. Sail has ice fishing suit for $200 on sale, originally prised $300. It floats as well. I picked it and tried today on simcoe. I bought Arctic armor for my dad last year and it's awesome suit, but for $200 this suit is a great deal. Brand is gks - Canadian company http://www.ganka.ca
  5. My family will pray for your brother Mr Blizzard. Be strong. I lost my mom to cancer 18 months ago. I am still dealing with pain and grief. If you have a chance to see him - do it. 6. It's on their web site: The Tournament WILL GO TO A DRAW With public safety concerns being at the forefront, along with the recommendation from the Fire Marshall, we are making the decision to not have the fishing component of the tournament take place. The current ice conditions on Kempenfelt Bay do not support a safe environment for the participants.
  7. Just small report - i was able to fish, but didn't bring my snowmobile with me(was advised not to because of weather conditions) - so run and gun approach was out. I walked around lake drilling holes and trying to catch some lakers. Partially I was successfully and 3" white tube produced first smallest laker i have ever seeing. Second one was caught on smallest badboy with tiny minnow - again very small fish. Local fisherman were moving around on snowmobiles and i guess they had a better luck. I was pretty happy with my results anyways. Halliburton is magnificent.
  8. Thanks Sinker, Do you know if there is any current in Esson? I am taking my snowmobile with me and want to be safe. I am hoping to find some lakers by running and gunning.
  9. Fished NIp last Sunday - ice was 10" at least - saw some cars on ice. Be careful where are some really soft spots.
  10. Very nice Ron
  11. Hi guys, I am wondering if someone has any experience fishing esson lake in winter. We rented a cottage for couple days next week and i will definitely will give it a try. I would appreciate any help. thanks
  12. We went to VB today, we were checking ice with heavy ice chisels every step. I stopped moving forward once got to 3 inches. I should warn everyone - ice is not safe anymore please dont try it. This morning ice was from 5 to 3,5 inches in most places. When we were leaving it was 1,5 to 3 inches. Rain was killing it pretty fast. Fishing was ok in the morning and died around 11 am. Kept 23 fish for pan. I hope next week we will have a good ice.
  13. Very cool, congrats
  14. Emil, it has special bracket on side to prevent head from spinning. You will have to install it with tap screws for your auger.
  15. Forgot to add - I was looking for different options for quite a while and that one is best one.
  16. Hi Emil, I just installed cabelas one on my skidoo. It's really nice, except all coming bolts and nuts are garbage. Pretty simple to install specially on ATV.
  17. Thank you guys, Stopped by at Lebaron today to pickup Dacron fly line backing - they are out of stock, but they promise to get it in couple days. They don't have raven mono line. I will use my spinning outfit this weekend and prepare centerpin properly for next one.
  18. Thanks, so what about backing? Should i spool whole reel with this line or still use some backing?
  19. Found 1500 yards spool of 12 lb Triline big game line at home. Is this line good enough just to try? I dont care much about it so i can easily spool as much line as i need.
  20. Thank you guys, A lot of useful information - will definitely remove line guard.
  21. Like mono or braid? I've heard that mono backing is not good.
  22. Thank you guys, Another question what kind of dacron line should i buy?
  23. Hi guys, I would like to get some help with proper spooling of centerpin reel to fish Niagara river. My current setup is Okuma Aventa 13'6" with spinning reel. I am pretty happy about it. I bought another rod from Kevin(OFC member - thanks again Kevin) to be my backup or primary rod. It's: I do have centerpin which is currently spooled with 330 yards of 6 Lb Sunline Mono, which is too light in my opinion for Niagara. Here it is: I need to know what kind of line should i use on it and also if i do need any backing on it. Where is an old post which is similar to mine but i hope some one can give me more up to date information. Thanks a lot.
  24. Fished it in summer - pikes, smallies and some pan fish - was that i caught. As far as i know where is a healthy population of lake trout as well.
