  1. Wow Lew...thanks! PM Sent.... And to everyone else...thanks a lot for your suggestions and tips...will be trying them out for sure!
  2. Just add to Zamboni's post...colour of boat as well. Also, ask if the buyer would want the boat and motor priced separately on the receipt.
  3. I'm not sure if it's worse this year or not....maybe I didn't pay much attention before because I didn't have a boat, but it seems that almost every weekend I want to head out in the boat, the winds are howling! That wont stop me from fishing necessarily, but I want to be able to have better boat control when it's windy. I've gone back and read threads about drift socks, but wanted some opinions.... Here's some relevant info (I hope). We fish the Kawarthas....mostly Scugog because of how close it is, but would like to explore many others this year. I have a 14 foot tinny, with an 18hp motor....so the package does not weigh a whole lot Ok...the questions.... How many drift socks should be deployed? I've read articles that show 2 for best control. If you deploy only one, how do you find it? If I go the 1 drift sock route....would you get a 30 or 36" one? Even bigger? Most info I read said for a 14 footer, no need to go larger than 36" If I go the 2 drift sock route, should I get the two smaller ones so that the drift isn't too slow? Anyhow, thanks for your patience....this fishing from a boat thing is new to us!
  4. Yep...they do get smaller from a boat. Bly and I catch lots of rather big fish from shore, and only baby fish from our boat....LOL. Here's some proof.... Bly's shore walleye.... Bly's boat walleye.... My shore Salmon.... My boat salmon....
  5. Classic 5 of diamonds
  6. As far as I know, Muskie is not in season within a 100 km radius of the GTA, so that will likely limit you to salmon fishing on Lake Ontario. Here's a link to some charters.... http://www.ontariofishing.net/linkspages/Fishing_Charters/
  7. Bly does pretty well going after these guys!!
  8. Great report Johnny! Awesome description of the day's events and some nice pics as well.
  9. Very sad....my condolences to the family, all their friends, and the community.
  10. LOL...I bought that product for Canadian Tire about 7 years ago as well... I always wondered how much fish turd it took to make a box of that stuff....
  11. Awesome stuff Kemper! When I was your age, me and my buddies did our best to get kicked out of provincial parks.....if only I fished back then....LOL. Great job on the pics and the "cola" cans as well...had me laughing!
  12. Nice work Glen! I take the lazy way out...I get mine from Bernie....LOL. I'm sure they'll be catching plenty of fish....take Bernie's advice for Nipissing!!
  13. Wow.... If you do a google search on him and find his official website, you can read his weekly blog there. Even though he still hasn't made the cut, the way he stays positive and counts his blessings is truly inspiring. Thanks for that link.
  14. Congrats...when nothing else is biting from shore, carp fits the fishing addiction that's for sure!! Great job on that bad boy!
  15. We haven't named our boat as of yet either! Here's a link to a thread I started last fall...may give you some more ideas..... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...c=12515&hl=

  19. Bly and I will be there Friday night....leaving right after we can drop the kids off at a friend's place on Friday afternoon. Will be leaving on Monday morning. Should be a blast!!! Here are some pics taken from the docks....an amazing place to be for sure!
  20. Also keep in mind that if you see them, they see you. Try approaching the hole with a very low profile and giving it a try. Avoid wearing red and try to choose clothing colours that blend in with your surroundings.
  21. Great stuff! Some great pics and real nice fish. Staying out all night....I suppose you took shifts sleeping?
