  1. I give up....LOL
  2. Just a take-off on Glen's comment about telling snag not to be shellfish Brian.
  3. And don't be a Bass about it.
  4. When I read this board, I'm not necessarily looking for information. I really enjoy seeing other people succeed, whether they are new to fishing or not. I enjoy hearing the funny stories that come out of fishing trips....I feel I get to know people a little through them. Why do I post? I post to share my experiences....and I suppose to brag a little when I happen to get a big fish. Until this past spring, almost all of my reports were from shore. Do I publicly give out locations where I am fishing? No I don't, but I will answer questions if they are asked in the thread. If the answer is sensitive in nature, I'll PM the answer to them. I've met up with fellow OFNers and taken them to my shore spots....or at least told them in detail where to go for good shore access, and what to use. As you said, understandably, I do not give out certain honey holes. I also do not divulge information that others have given me in confidence.
  5. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm.... That's my mother's recipe.... Hey Bly....you haven't made that in quite a while now....hint hint.....LOL
  6. Hey Dann...thanks again for having us up there. We all had a great time...including our little one. We should see about heading up again before the summer is up.....our team needs a good muskie...maybe we should target them one day to see if we can upgrade our tiny one!! LOL.
  7. This is a great report! The everlasting live bait vs artificials! Very creatively written too....a joy to read. I catch my share of salad fish as well...just wish they tasted better. While up on the West Arm of Nipissing in June, bly and I were using Glup Alive leeches for Walleye. We were with another boat fishing the same area....they were using live leeches. In this case, the Gulp Alive caught more fish than the live leeches. All I know is that they both catch fish. We go thru a lot more live leeches when we use them because they get ripped off a lot, so that's a good thing about Gulp product...you keep more of them after you get a fish.
  8. Great first report Steve! Glad to hear you had a great outing....I have learned a TON from other members of the board as well. When I was caught in thunderstorms on the weekend my mind kept wandering to that thread about lightning from a few weeks ago....LOL. I kept looking at the tip of my fishing rod to see if it started to crackle a bit. Looking forward to more of your reports!
  9. Now that's one SWEEEET report. Great job guys! You managed to find them holding in some pretty tough conditions. Now file that info away and don't forget it!!! LOL. Awesome pics and fish...congrats on a great day.
  10. HA Ha ha. You're a funny guy there solo.... LOL
  11. Hey....I just noticed....this is your first ever report on this board....LOL. Now that you are figuring out this computer thing I expect more....haha.
  12. WOO HOO!! Great job Skeeter! I've updated the results thread with the entry....will add the 2 bonus inches tomorrow. We gotta get back up there again soon....had a great time up there with you guys.
  13. I third the Okanagan! Great to hear from you again sleded! Great report. I have lots of lakes that are called skunk lake as well....LOL
  14. Solopaddler did a great job at describing our trip....I thought I'd add a few of my favourite pics taken from my camera. Solo posted this Bass...but I loved the rock wall background in this one.... Here's a neat pic of a pike I was bringing in.... Here's some of the wildlife we saw. Figures that a few of them were on top of garbage in this remote area..... Finally...some scenery pics.... In case you missed the videos on the other thread...here they are again.... Cabin and Storm <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i120.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/ccmtcanada/solopaddlerstorm.flv"> Solo landing his fav species. <embed width="448" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i120.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/ccmtcanada/solopaddlerpike.flv"> Thanks everyone for your replies on the other thread....it certainly was a trip to remember!
  15. LOL Glen. Mo...it was probably me! I can't remember if I was out there at that time, but I wander over to the south end of the parking garage (upper level) and look down at all the northbound trains, wondering if I'd see you one day. Next time you see me...wave....LOL.
  16. I hear ya scuro....that's why I count it as a landed fish if it gets boatside/streamside, regardless if I get to hold it up or not. The real thrill is feeling the hit and fighting the fish....those chinnys fight like nothing else I've ever felt on the end of a line....the power of their runs is amazing.
  17. Are the "fishing manners" that you are talking about NOT laughing while videotaping? Plenty of guys laugh hysterically when stuff like that happens out on the water.
  18. I dont think the jig weight is the issue....it's a reel that can hold 1.8 kilometers of line. Man...I don't know if I could reel in that kind of line in one fishing trip. I added a bit in case the fish ran like a salmon
  19. LOL....great little video. Looked like an amazing place to fish.
  20. SWEEEEEEEEET! Great looking pike! Congrats on the PB.
  21. You are a smart !! You're probably right though... See you at Big Cliff's in a few weeks Don!
  22. I didn't really get much video of the actual fishing, but here's a few more quick videos.... This is Solopaddler catching his favourite species....you can see the excitement on his face and hear it in his voice!!! <embed width="320" height="240" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i120.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/ccmtcanada/solopaddlerpike.flv"> This really doesn't do it justice....but here's a little of the scenery. It's amazing to me...because I'm used to fishing lakes with endless cottages lining the shore and seeing other fishing boats, water skiers and jetskis all over the place. <embed width="320" height="240" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i120.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/ccmtcanada/soloscenery.flv">
  23. Ahem...you're one to throw stones with what ppl wear fishing....LOL. Do I need to dig up some pics of you??? I only wore it on shore and as we were leaving where we launched...and in the evenings when we were not in the screenhouse. He snapped that pic about a 100 feet from shore....LOL. I was just impatient and started to cast right away....I caught a pike on my 3rd cast....
  24. All I can say is WOW! I had an awesome time....even though it rained, hailed and the fishing was slow. For me it really was an adventure...as I'd never been on a trip like that before. I learned a TON from you....from reading a lake (What structure to look for both on the shore and under water), to jigging, and the use of worm harnesses. It's all stuff I'll take with me whenever I'm fishing. We should try to do it again....I'm willing to be more adventurous....maybe even a moderate portage....LOL. Thanks a lot Mike...I'm telling everyone who will listen about the trip. Anyhow...here's a short video of the place we took cover in...as well as a little bit of the storm that we encountered..... <embed width="320" height="240" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://i120.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid120.photobucket.com/albums/o185/ccmtcanada/solopaddlerstorm.flv">
