  1. The false spawning runs are still fun though.....
  2. Leave it to Art to have a beer can available at 5 am ! LOL Congrats on getting her home bud. A 3 hour cruise with memories of Ginger and Mary Anne...that's pretty close to what we thought may happen!
  3. You got that ALL wrong...my wife told me to buy a new boat because she didn't like the seats in the old one!! CONGRATS on 25 years Brian ! It will be our 25th this summer a well...so I know your wife has you well trained already and this is just part of the process in your search for a new boat.
  4. No matter who you go with...I'd put a quick mount on them so you can remove when not fishing that style. These may fit in the back inside corners... from Big Jon and use the 12" riser..if that gets you above the gunnels to mount the rigger to Big Jon also has these clamp ons that may or may not fit those gunnels Salty has similar adapters
  5. Thanks EVERYONE..and keep the thoughts coming. I'll probably just use my manuals this season and I'll see how many times I actually use them for lakers before upgrading, seeing I already blew this years budget +++ already on tracks, holders and accessories from Pursuit. Good exercise reeling them up from 100 FOW anyhow.....but electrics would be much nicer for solo or even dual fishing operations. GB...are those the ones you said your friend picked up that the charters have been using for a while??? Seeing they don't even have auto stop...do they have any auto depth lowering...or do you have to manually "clutch" them down and watch the counter?
  6. Good luck with sales. Maybe you can work on a one lure per sale commission or similar!
  7. Pretty "crappy" that you have to work instead of fish tomorrow Steve! lol Ah cloth diapers...all we could afford for the first kid. I then invented "refastenable" diapers come the second kid...but of course was toooo stupid to patent such a simple idea. I used packing tape across the diaper so the tape tabs would't rip it when checking the diaper....long before refastenables ever hit the shelves. Not the only patent I missed in the last 25 years.
  8. Good to hear you had an enjoyable time Lew. I thought about it, but was a good boy and spent a good part of the day in the workshop...so I can go fishing!
  9. Another nice report Tom. Exercise, fresh air and some fish. What more do you need....
  10. Stir da poop.... Now that's the misfish I know....
  11. Another contender I've seen, that looks similar to the Big Jon is Fishlander. www.fishlander.com ...and another is Penn http://www.pennreels.com/01_products/downr.../downrigger.htm
  12. As of yesterday...still 30" of ice on a Northern Minnesota Lake. Not sure if they were on Vermilion or not. They usually go in close to there though..
  13. Well you got in for half price....wasn't that bad! If you had of paid full price you would have got two crappies and six perch!
  14. What Roy said ! If you wore one of those you'd have to weld your drain plug in for sure....
  15. Thanks Wilker.. I have 2 x Canon Uni-troll manuals that I like with the 6' telescopic booms...but thinking of getting lazy and going electrics and want some feedback like yours before proceeding in the future. Wayne
  16. Big Jon, Canon, Scotty or Walkers? Thanks for the participation !!
  17. Beauty as always Drew...Some really GREAT fish there....but you know which one is the real keeper!!
  18. I don't know...maybe that's where Buster went...
  19. Great shots hookset. To make them show up here...go back in your post...hit edit..quick edit and then add [ img ] in front of each one and [ /img ] behind each one...but no spaces!!
  20. I had issues like this when my Kodak 210 was brand new. Turned out the tabs to hold the battery weren't firm enough against the batteries. Taking a wire and bending the prongs up changed from it saying batteries dead in a few shots to about a 100 shots. Right now I'm using it in the shop and using the Canon re-chargeable AA's that I bought with charger for $79.99 at Henrys, for my Canon A540. I can't believe the difference and don' t know why I didn't go with the NiMH's before....as I've taken over 500 shots in the last couple weeks with no signs of the batteries needing to be re-charged yet...shop is only 50*F and I leave the camera out there..and just bring my memory card in to download each night.
  21. Gee and I thought only Ron dropped by TJ's when he wasn't home..... No wonder there's never any Vodka! LOL
  22. Esox Angler and I got a free subscription to In- Fisherman when I bought my Stowmaster Net at JB's last Fall.
  23. I was surprised as well bigworm...the customer that called me Sunday night usually can't get out to his cottage on Easter Weekend and this year he, and his whole family, were cross country skiing on 2" of fresh snow on top of 6 to 8" of good ice. Try calling the airport manager over at Stanhope (just East of Canarvan..before West Guilford) and ask him if the ice is still on either lake he can see from the airport (Green Lake to the east and forget the one West of it). He won't mind the call...John Packer's a great guy....use my name to break the "ice" lol...Wayne O'Shea Halls Lake is just three small lakes west and then one North from the airport. Should be some fair currents thru there I would think. 1-705-754-2611
  24. I'd imagine so..unless there's lots of current. Alyen Lake over by Barrys Bay still had 8" of safe/hard ice on it on Easter Sunday.
