  1. LOL Dave !... and I'm off to get that fishing report now... Another beauty day and with OFC down I accomplished so much I can take a day off! lol
  2. Only on the curved lakes Rob.. ..it's an aircraft float that I rebuilt maverick.
  3. Down.. really... I was working and got LOTS done !
  4. Absolutely no idea on why sales and production numbers go thru the roof in early march!
  5. LOL Dan... a great spot it is... great little village ! lol
  6. Great stuff Hun.... but who is this fish catching machine you're hangin with ???
  7. Na... I call it a moving quilt ! lol And Shayne... it's all priorities. Some brew their own coffee... some shop at Starbucks ! Less money in my airplane than many fishing boats.
  8. Can't do that Jim... we're doomed without Shayne!
  9. I think that's the first Ling that I've seen posted from Simcoe.. and what a hog!
  10. Guess I'll have to buy my prize... don't patronize the place.
  11. Stinson 108 Bernie... there was a beauty parked right beside mine today.. let me find a shot.
  12. LOL Glen. Ice looks real good out there... traffic on it almost up to the open area on the Port Severn outflow. NO snow !
  13. Always love the locals and the "there's only a night bite for eyes" mentality. Same deal we got catching a couple lakers each evening... everyone would tell us lakers only bite in the morning.... pickeral at night. lol Great outing Rob no matter how you look at it !
  14. Thanks for sharing Bernie. Stuff like this, my new found ice fishing drive and my day today are starting to remind me of why I loved winter the most as a kid.
  15. Don't know Glen... but by quick count there is about 150 huts out there... someone's gotta be catchin something.
  16. Never been an issue Ted since I learned from others to let all the line out behind the boat, with a heavy lure on, and reel it in under load.....BEFORE the first cast !
  17. See Jim... instead of pissing and moaning about how cold it is you could get out and enjoy it you know! lol A mix Jim... some are still certified... some are homebuilts. The jazzy champ is registered amateur built... or at least it' better be with the air master auto pitch prop on it ! lol... I'll look it up! Edit: FIVT is in owner maintenance... so prop is, as long as he's logged it, legal.
  18. Yes... joys of an updraft carb and air cooled engine.
  19. I know there's a few airplane buffs that hang out here... enjoy... Got a call Friday that the, generally annual, Mathedash Lake fly in at John and Silvia Richards was on. Couldn't have picked a better day for my son and I to fly over for some chilli and to see old friends. A bit of a heavy breeze but perfect ice conditions for any landing gear configuration. Shows how many friends this great couple have made over the years. They get 4 times the number of flyins on a couple days notice that other advertised events get. Love John's old Johnson 30's as well... still running like a top 35 years later. Wish I had of remember my ice rods though.... maybe I'll go back this week and do a fishing report as well... If anyone recognizes this.. the skis where the first thing I saw in Les Strouds Survivor Man Temagami episode and I knew who's airplane it was.. Peter Dale dropped him off on the back lake. The hosts..John and Silvia Richards Two "homebuilt" helicopters.
  20. Yep like John says... my 60's and 70's cars a pocket knife and a screwdriver fixes them..... my daily drivers.. garage !
  21. I just thought it was to cheapen the cost of manufacturing. I twist all those shut.....
  22. Git out the toboggan Glen... the neighbours garbage can lid will do....
  23. and if you're drinking that rye and ice in a southwest bay on lake Nipigon in August... the cubes might not melt at all over night! lol
