We had one go across the Temagami Shores front yard (North bound) a few Falls ago.... down the lane to the boat ramp.... flip the truck on it's side amongst the stored iced huts and have it catch on fire... while leaking Diesel into the lake and he was already on the highway hitchhiking back South before the police even had a chance to talk to him.

Based on formulation.. that might reduce me to $7500..... $5250 if I could claim the entire parcel. Not worth the cost of livestock insurance to deal with a herd of cattle. Now goats.. might keep the grass cut... lol

It actually does look VERY similar to one strain of Cockroach... if it had some antennas vs the "horns".

Well I've got to many computer issues and server issues to get anymore pics up properly it seems tonight, but here's a video I quickly shot with my camera just sitting up on the dash yesterday. I call these "box spot" landings... and it's good practice for hitting a spot. Sled grid in the snow... you have to land and take off without crossing a sled trail. The first one is an immediate departure.. thanks to a sound you get use to of rough or pack ice under the snow that will clean the gear off the plane. As the video starts, that is Giants Tomb Island and all landings are between it and heading towards Gin Rocks.

Based on what I saw yesterday.. I wouldn't doubt if it's frozen out there as well. If I knew where your house was Nick I would have got a shot... only reference I have is someone wrote HI MOM in the snow in front of one place on the South shore.. lol.. and the F-in-laws horse farm on the North side. I'd say I'm glad I didn't pay for all that fence board... but I probably did!

I'll see if I can get some more downsized and uploaded tonight. Got a few good shots of the Tomb and surroundings yesterday.

Have over 3 feet of snow in the yard Nick that I left from.. the lake isn't any issue. First flyable day in a long long time... Will try to get some more pics up later... computer didn't have enough memory left (of my 300+GB) last night to resize the 140 or so pictures I took during a 2 hour cruise around Simcoe County and Georgian Bay Township yesterday. The snow globe may have finally stopped...... GBay and Nottawasaga Bay are frozen right out past the Westerns.

Batteries have come a long way Will.. I just threw away the lead acid in my airplane today, that would never crank her first hit of the key. Always stopped at TDC and then I'd hit it again and it would start. Put an Odyssey PC925 in it today, that I checked pre-install and was only at 80% charge.. and I could taxi the thing just on the windmill effect from cranking with the ignition turned off. Thinking I'll be trying them next on my trolling motor in the Lund!

LOL Lew.. mine wait for the area in front of the Avgas tank to thaw out in the sun and the grass to come back up. That and the front circular laneway to do same.. they'll be waiting a LONG time for the later.. it's under 7 feet of plowed snow.
