  1. Another year won! We celebrated Jen's 29th today..
  2. Got a sore jaw just watching the hook sets...
  3. I think as long as he has propane.. Lloyd could live through a blizzard out there! Only guy I know with a portable that you're wise to get your coat off before entry into his hut!
  4. Realized I forgot the still shot.... Lloyd gets the credit for this one!
  5. There's been more than a few.. and one involves propane and a portable hut, and thankfully no casualties other than lost hair, 27 miles from the closest road. But as others have mentioned, this one was good for a few laughs the summer of 2012.
  6. Same deal here Art.. not overly enforced these days pending who the building inspector is, but generally the wall between garage and house is supposed to be 5/8 drywall vs 1/2. At one time, and possibly still some places, it's supposed to be double layer drywall with no overlapping seams. With todays cars... that turn themselves and their electrical system on and off at will... I'd be doing my utmost to have as sealed a garage as I could from the living quarters.
  7. Ketchup... works for whitefish both on it to eat and to get rid of the Cucumber smell from filleting
  8. It took a lot of fighting with the liability "Nancies" to get the puddle jump back in Penetang for Winterama. I don't think it would have happened last year (and here forward) if not for my son being a Town Councillor who has been helping cut the "puddle" since he was 12 years old. LOL Ketch.. no thanks, that was cut 1000 feet from the sewer plant outlet!
  9. Yep.. you want a bright maintenance free ceiling.. what he said..
  10. Give thought to where you're going to put that huge collection of "stuff" ....that has taken up residence between said studs as well....
  11. That's just one of MANY blocks Geoff... the guys got too tired to push any more down and under the ice, so a few got hauled out. So the hole is actually being floated by about 50" of ice around it's perimeter.
  12. Could probably troll while riding a sled... but suspect it's iced back over by now. Will need to be busted open and scooped in the morning. At least this year we know for sure that no matter how big the crowd they won't be pushing the hole edge below the water line!
  13. .. in case any wonder how thick it is. It holds my Kubota. About a foot of perfect blue ice, with about 17" of white on top. Puddle jump tomorrow if you've got nothing better to do...
  14. GREAT stuff Simon... the perfect age to start and he looks like a natural. Would have loved him in one of my classes, at Calabogie back in the day..
  15. Here's the video of trying to find the bugger... told him next time to bring some red locate paint and lay me down a big arrow into the wind so that I can find him. I was just waiting for one of the many other fisher people out there to wave as I went by and I would have landed in the wrong spot.
  16. Dropped in to fish with Lloyd today... but about 4pm it was getting apparent that It was time to BUG OUT for home!
  17. Yep.. definitely hear you there Bruce... we've started answering ALL the "unknown name" ones for some time now. Those that show an area code outside any hospital we frequent.. not so much.
  18. Analglaucoma Dan...
  19. It's the original Gopro Dan, bought it direct before they were in stores..... I have to open the window and reach out and push the shutter button at 70+ MPH. It's mounted to my wing strut.. and I need to turn it a bit for the next flights to get the prop out of the picture. Use to have it set right, but I've got it back to too straight ahead again it seems. Need to start using some editing programs as well... and add some musak..
  20. I'm still lost at answering calls from #'s you don't know. Why bother paying the extra for call display.
  21. Apparently the only open hole is out of Owen Sound Harbour and someone is advertising getting out there to fish on the ice they have. Other than that you can walk from Tobermory to Manitoulin !
  22. Make sure you bump the "wheel" up to 720 or 1080HD.. and the prop sound is irritating.. so you might wanna turn your volume down.
  23. A couple videos from Tuesday.. off the yard and then down Penetang Harbour and over the town in the first one and then Gin Rocks South Bound into Midland Harbour and over the town of Midland in the second one. Gives a vantage of the ice this year.. and where you might wanna head out and drill a hole....
  24. Yep.. Global warming has finally run it's course Paul, we're now headed towards the next ice age.
