:blink:As others have mentioned, Camp Bear Smart! I'm surprised that no one has mentioned that rattlesnakes are numerous in this area. I stayed at a buddies cottage on Six mile last September. In 2 1/2 days I saw 3 rattlers. Keep your eyes open and watch your pets if you're taking any!

A buddy of mine caught a six pack of cans of Coors Light while ice fishing a Banf area glacial lake about 15 years back. Because he's not on this forum to defend himself, I'll also add, that's better luck than he usually has!! Go Glenny!

Two more words - UPPER NIAGARA. I lived in St Catharines for 18 years until 2004. The only thing I miss about the area is musky fishing on the Upper Niagara.

Costa Del Mar Liquids here. I've had em all but these are without a doubt the best I've ever owned. They come with 3 sets of lenses that allow you to select the best lens colour for the light conditions of each particular day. The 3 colours are grey, dark and amber. They are pricey but can be had pretty reasonably on E-bay.

Here's my winter ride. I drag my sleigh behind it and behind that my portable hut, but the hut only when its really cold out. This was taken last January northwest of Sudbury. It was -37 C that morning! My buddy is behind me in this pic with his sled.

There's been alot of good info posted here. Just a couple of points to add. Solo is right about jigging spoons. One T/giving about 15 years back while fishing in the Kawarthas, 3 buds and myself fished our brains out the first 2 days there with little to show for it other than after we gave up on the walleye and threw some bucktails for musky. We noticed that a group from Ohio in the next cabin had been having great luck for walters and we asked them their secret. They showed us the jigging spoons they were using. They were Hopkins Shortys, 3/4 oz with dressed treble hooks. They even gave us a couple of lures to test. The next shift on the water we caught fish. We looked for deep water adjacent to moving water as they had suggested and jigged just as Solo described. We tried tipping the spoons with worms and minnows but had the best success with just the spoons. This tactic has been repeated every fall since then and at lakes all over the province with good success. This is a full daylight tactic. Good luck.

I'm not sure how/if it will affect the fishing but CBC Radio reported today that a severe blue-green algae bloom is occuring in Quinte right now. Jack.

That one is a fav of mine Jocko. How about the one where the Champ and Mrs Champ are looking to buy a sofa. The salesguy at Ed's Furniture suggests that the three of them go out back and dicker over the couch......yeah you can guess the rest.

Been thinking about how I'm going to store my boat this year. This is the first year that I don't own a building for indoor storage. Checked the website and found that one of the marinas in town is a dealer. Think I'll slither over there and check it out and see what their price is. Curious to see if anyone on this board has one.

Because the fish were bought when the couple lived together, they were considered community property, he said. “There was nothing we could do,” Mitchell said. “If he wants to pursue it, it's a civil case.”

Dropped the wad on a 1oo mph BPS suit a few weeks back. It hasn't stopped raining since I got it home. Thinking about takin it back and trading it for snorkel gear. LOL I gave it a good workout on the ATV the other day, worked great. I should really put it to the test next weekend at Lady Evelyn..........rain and wet snow forecasted so far.

Corvette1, I assume that by your mention of carbs that this is not a FICHT engine. As you know they're fuel injected. The heat sensor on carburated engines only turns the temperature warning light on and is likely a symptom rather than a cause of your problem. This said then I'd be looking at a cause of the engine running hot. I'd look at the following items: Thermostat -could be stuck closed or partially closed - Does the engine seem better or OK when you first start it up cold? -if so, replace the thermostat. Compression test - You could have a leaking headgasket. Lean fuel mixture- lean mixtures cause high running temperatures - as John mentioned look at the colour of the spark plug porcelain insulators - they should be a light tan colour if the mixture is correct, they will be very white if the mixture is too lean, lean mixtures are caused by carburation or fuel supply problems. There's plenty of other possibilities but these items are where I'd start.
