  1. Now that you've caught some bait let's see some big lakers.
  2. In Buffalo? There's not much. Gander and Dicks may be worth a look. They had some decent deals last year.
  3. You're welcome. Pretty sad though if that's the best present you've ever received. Maybe we should be throwing waffles at you.
  4. Go super early Rob, the earlier the better. Better you waste some time shopping than stuck in traffic.
  5. The lower Niagara is always a great bet for steelhead, browns and lakers through the winter. In fact..it's fishing great right now. It gets better once Erie freezes and doesn't constantly muddy up the river. Another truly great option is pretty much any warm water discharge. In mild offshore winds you can have a lot of fun with even just a float tube.
  6. Amazing. You could likely do everything wrong and still not get sick then. Good genes.
  7. The Islander is a great choice. It's been mentioned they may come out with a 5" version. If they ever do I'll be all over it.
  8. Me too. If it has to be waffles at least make sure they're frozen.
  9. Never a cold or even a headache? I think there may be a few scientists at the Mayo Clinic who might want to study you.
  10. I still don't get it, why waffles? Is there some kind of imagery I'm missing here? Surely he could have come up with something better. (I can think of plenty of things I'd love to hurl besides waffles. )
  11. Joe, buddy, don't you mean solopaddler? For those that don't know my handle on a few other boards is Tripper. It actually was Tripper on this board as well waaaay back when. When the board was upgraded it didn't allow me log on with my old username so I chose solopaddler. On a side note, Joe let's try and get out fishing again soon.
  12. Hence your lack of sickness and healthy constitution.
  13. I've used buttermilk on occasion to marinate wild game. Looks good, you're giving me some ideas.
  14. Can't let the inmates run the asylum, good move.
  15. Brady you can email Robb at [email protected] Great guy to deal with, if you go that route you won't be sorry. Buckster, good choice.
  16. There's a lot of guys raving about the new Kingpin Imperial including some that I know and respect. I can only assume it's as good as advertised. Robb Marquette of Riverkeeper reels is starting a new run of 5" Frogwaters that will be improved over the initial run. The initial run was amazing so it's safe to say this would be a good choice. Adam Demarco of Paine Falls will be making a run of these beauties in both 41/2 and 5". (I have one on order myself )
  17. That ad's been around for a while, it's great. It makes me want to buy a St. Croix.
  18. Great thread I love old photos! These aren't scanned, they're photos of the photo so not the best quality. August 1995 Whiteclay Lake north of Armstrong, day 75 of a lengthy solo trip. I met some guys staying at one of the outpost camps and they invited me in for some refreshments. July 1997, Big Albany River speckle August 1997, Wendell Beckwith's cabin on an island in Whitewater lake north of Armstrong (it was like something from Hansel and Gretel Paddling Through A Forest Fire on The Allanwater River June '97 July '99 Duffy Lake outpost north of Wawa, where I proposed to Joanne. Algonquin Park May 2000, big speckle and laker There's 1000's more where that came from! (I think I need a scanner though )
  19. Cool photos. Was watching it at work (still here ), without a cloud in he sky. For about an hour prior to it starting coyotes were yipping like mad. As soon as the eclipse started they went deathly silent.
  20. Oh man, I really feel for you. You were not too harsh at all, and for Gods sake don't pay them another dime. If you need someone to finish the job right, aniceguy on the board does this for a living and does it well. Might be worth a pm if you're stuck. Hope things work out, keep us posted.
  21. Awesome, you've definitely got a knack for it.
  22. There is no bright side to this, it's a joke. There's no way no how I would ever pay that fine.
  23. Well done bud. (and voted as well) I'm hoping you'll put together a vid of our trip next spring.
