I am curious. Let us know what u think too. I heard u need to be moving about 4 mph to get the best image with no stretching or distortion. Looks cool Landry

Can my friend and I not put our combined limit into my livewell??? Do I need a seperate bucket for him in the boat. I am confused????? Landry

Unless u r gonna go real big (add scan technology, bigger screen...) I would just stick with the LMS520c. I have one and I think it is fine. Just my opinion.

I was in a black crestliner with an optimax. Me and a friend. It was more like 6 PM or after though. Did not notice the boat so I think we did not meet. But wow!!!!!! I remember the thread on HT's boat - truly amazing!!!! How did the new engine work out?? I will look for you next weekend as we may go Saturday. Landry

We were there and landed 5 - all in one spot(got lucky I guess) in about an hour. We fished about 7 hours total. I want to see some pics of this refurbished Ranger now!!!!! Landry

My buddy and I landed 5 up to 15 lbs. We lost 3 others and had quite a few bites but they were tough to hook. Water is still very cold. It is just the beginning of the run I think. It was definitely better in the hot afternoon sun. It is worth a trip but not at its peak yet. We fished from 11 - 5. Hope that helps. Landry

How much???? That is the big question. If it is a lot you may have a problem. It will most likely be a leaky hose, pump... It could be leaky rivets/seam but it is probably something small. I suddenly started to get water in my boat so I plugged up my livewell intake = no water. I had a split hose and replaced it. And yes, there will always be moisture and backsplashing too. My first, old aluminum leaked slowly through the seams - it wasn't unsafe, just annoying. I bought this moldable aluminum puddy at a marine dealer and pressed it into all of the seams. It took forever but totally fixed the problem. Landry

Thanks guys!!!!!! I simply lengthened the ground wire so that it stretched past the swing tongue and fastened it to the main trailer body. I can see now that I had a problem starting last year as my lights are all now much brighter as well!!! I appreciate the help. Landry

I drove past you guys - recognized Steve from his pic on this board. It was very slow for us too. We got some but not many and it sure was a nice day to be out:) My friend got one about 14 too. Landry

I believe I have:) Thanks guys!!! Landry

Maiden voyage yesterday - boat ran great, fishing skills a little rusty - but the trailer is messed up!!!! I need some advice/help. The lights only work when I close my swing tongue and contact is made at a certain point. At that point you can see a spark on the swing tongue joint and the lights come on. Open it an inch = off. Close it and put the swing tongue pin in = off. Finally we jammed a piece of copper between the main trailer/swing tongue surfaces and it got us to Dunnville and back. Any ideas on what's going on???????? Thanks everyone. Landry

I am having the same problem this winter. Where did u get a battery switch and is it easy to install? Landry

It was pricey - 25 bucks plus some charges (30) here too. My buddy and I made 2 rods from one order that worked out to 120 for each, tax included (all supplies included, even those bought here). they are great rods at that price. We dressed them up nice but did not buy expensive guides as that can really drive cost up quickly. You are pretty much looking at that or more if you buy in Canada - even with a low end blank. Landry PS: the stuff got here in 4 days!!!!! I am getting my parents to sneak my next 2 rods back from Florida but the shipping cost 20 and the FLA tax was 9 so I wish I hadn't bothered as I will likely only save 35 bucks or so in the end. Still - that's 30$ or so in my pocket.

I have tied 1 mudhole mhx blank and have 2 more on the way - they are nice blanks - light and fast. I will buy more. They are supposed to be copies of the imx blanks. They are a great price. Even after paying duty they are cheaper than Canadian prices and a great product too. They are as nice as st croix avid blanks and feel just like loomis imx blanks. Have not fished them yet so we will see how sensitive they are - though they are getting great reviews on the net. I found it cheapest to buy most of my stuff through mudhole as their prices are lower than here on everything. I just picked up my epoxy and winding checks here. If u r near Cambridge you can stop by and check them out if u like. I have the sj 842 (7', 6 - 12 lb), and these are on their way: ds 822(6'10 drop shot) and sj 720(6' crappie rod) blanks Landry

I have chatted with him and he does seem like a great guy. Down to earth and humble. I know it was supposed to be funny - it just wasn't really that funny I like his show musky shows a lot. Landry

I have a side console crestliner fish hawk (16') and love it. I always hit the boat show and I think alumacraft and crestliner are my 2 favourites - wide, well-laid out and good reputation. The lund and princecrafts are nice too of course - but too much $$$$ for me. I would happily take a tiller or side console in a 16' - as mentioned full windshield would be too big for a 16'er. Full windshield would not suit me as I like rarely troll and side console keeps me dry enough and drier than my friend - he doesn't complain in November, cause he is just happy to be fishing:) I like the console for tubing with the kids as opposed to the tiller too. BTW - the crestliner and alumacraft pictured are nice rigs guys!!!! You can't lose either way cause you're getting a new boat!!!!! Have you considered buying a slightly used one in the states??? That's what I did - twice. Great deals and easy to do. Landry

I would look on kijiji and maybe check out basspro for a combo. Don't buy a cheap line though!!!!!! A 9' 8 wt is perfect. A 9' 6 wt would get the job done. WF Floating line.

i have the elite 5 and use a hotmaps chip in it. The unit has been great on the ice for me. Marks bottom type and fish and tiny jigs VERY well. It is going on my boat soon. Landry

Don't buy a noodly one!!! Check out mudhole.com - their mhx rods are AMAZING and they are knock-offs of loomis imx blanks. I have built a smallie model and it was amazing and super light / fast action - will be ordering more. They have a 13' version - clone to the imx 1562. I bet it is awesome. AND - they are VERY reasonable. Landry

Buy a carbonlite - they are on sale right now at basspro - very light!!!!!

The 8'6" XH BassPro Musky rod is a great all around stick at a great price - almost as nice as my Legend Slingblade. The Cardiff 300 series reels are reliable, comfortable, durable and affordable. Garcias always break on me and the winch or the Shimano Curados are not very affordable. I fish 30 muskie days a year on the cardiff basspro setup and it holds up well for me Landry

Anyone try the HT ice blue 18" rods - UL superflex???? Heard they are a great panfish rod for the $ Where can I find these in Ontario?? Thanks Landry
