Ahmic lake camping trip july 4th to 6th
lunkerbasshunter replied to lunkerbasshunter's topic in General Discussion
Back when they were a winning team lol I get it all the time. No relation. Cheers! -
I have always questioned the record books as far as how they keep there records. I know that many years ago it wasnt possible to take pictures and get record fish certified. Now a days as im sure beats is going to find out with his crappy it is a long legal process to get his record fish certified. I think although a pain in the butt for beats it is a good way to insure its a real record. My question is there are some real issue with some of the current records. The smallmouth bass 9.84 pounds was caught where nobody witnessed it. There are no pictures of it. Nobody weighed it other then the guy who caught it and the bait shop in town claimed it as a record fish. You know how bait shops can embelish fish stories to get people to come to there town. Happens all the time even today. The large mouth is the same thing. There are no official documentaiotns of it. No pictures, no legal documents. I think preston lake is actually a private lake too? How does that work lol Maybe a Bull story to raise property value? The walleye is 22+++ pounds caught decades ago. Maybe it was a salmon and the angler just didnt know the difference? SOunds stupid eh? Well just as stupid as us reconizing it as a record fish that has no documantations. The musky is most likely the most legit record as there was many people on the moon basin that day that saw the fish, witness the weigh in and if im not mistaking i think a mnr official was there as well. The monster rainbow trout was caught a few years back and was legit with pictures, inspected scales and legal papers. ANyways im not saying these older record fish dont exist im just saying how can they be sure that they did? take my word for it shouldnt exist in record keeping. No pictures, no certified paper work, i think they should be invalid. Cheers!

My inlaws were kind enough to watch our 2 year old for the week while my wife and i went back to work last week. Taking advantage of the babysitting we went to magnetawan and camped on ahmic lake this weekend. My awesome wife! Me having a beer friday evening thinking about all the fish i'm going to try to catch in the morning We had a great time and she did come out on the boat with me for a couple hours over the weekend! She was quite happy to sit in a chair and let me go fishing! So i was out at 5 am saturday morning. It was chilly but well worth getting up early. First fish was a scrappy 2 pounder. Ended up catching a few of these over the couple days i was fishing. Lots of these smaller scrappy guys Sunsetting saturday night! Early Sunday i was out on the water for 445am. What a great morning! It was sooooo peaceful Sun rising Video of the sun rising. I sat for about 10 minutes watching it come up. It was a relaxing experience and a great way to start the morning. Got into about 15 of these little guys this morning in about 2 hours. Wasn't any size to any of these guys but they sure were fun to catch. Overall it was a great couple days with my wife. We had a great time at night, playing games, drinking beer with the other campers and I had a blast fishing ahmic lake. Best guess would be about 40 fish between saturday and this morning. Nothing big like i'm used to on ahmic but all really fun to catch! I didn't even make the run to the east side of the lake for walleye which was my main goal this weekend. Relaxing tonight at the inlaws and going to hit nipissing in the morning! Cheers!

Carp - Caught a few before the rains...
lunkerbasshunter replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
huge carp.. ...its been 15 years since i tried to carp fish, but with fish that big i may have to start. cheers! -
i do this alot as well! I find if i hit the weed edges and catch a good drift i can get 3 or 4 fish every pass. Its way easier if you have a trolling motor ot keep you on the edge of the weeds but sometimes you get lucky and the wind blows you the right way. Cheers!

Hey All, After my aweosme bass opener on Saturday morning. I ended up fishing agian sunday, monday. Sunday was a tough day. Lots of wind and rain. skies did clear but cold front shut the fishing right down. I through everything in my box at them and didnt get a bite for hours at a time. Hear is pic from sunday evening. monday morning i was on the lake by 500am, it was chilly but looked like the rain would hold off. Well it did for most of nipisisng lol not for the south bay where i was fishing. It rained on and off all morning. It was weird though. everytime it rained i would get into fish. then not a bite when it stopped. I managed to get into some decent 1 1/2 to 2 pounders though. Over all it was a great weekend. This weeknd im heading to Magnetawan with my wife camping for a few days. Then we are back in north bay for the week and I will be fishing everyday on nipissing for sure! Cheers!
