  1. Try minnow baits like rebels or rapalas in natural colours. Smaller cleos and phoebes can be killer too.
  2. Thass might neighbourly, Tom. I'll be bringing sleeping bag and airmattress, so I will be pretty self sufficient. Even the screened porch at 5A would be fine. I remember Raf and Diplip being quite comfortable there last year. Roy is more comfortable rolled up into a little ball on a kitchen chair than on a couch or bed, I recall. I may take you up on your offer with thanks.
  3. There is a nice photo of Lonnie King with a payara on that website, and Alana is also very photogenic.
  4. CCMT and bly do pretty darn good, as do the urban pikehunters that fish the Toronto islands. I've seen a few nice carp as well.
  5. Board Name: douG Real Name: Doug (surprise) Number of people you are reporting for(...including you): 1 Accomodations (Camping or Cabin or off site): relying on the charity of others, couch or floor space Bringing boat? no Renting Boat? no Using restaurant facilities? Breakfast Saturday and Sunday would be nice. Hope to arrive Saturday am for breakfast, leaving Sunday pm.
  6. That's a great offer, but no can do - my fly in is in 3 weeks. So far everyone is still on board for us. Good Luck in rounding out your roster.

Nice goin, Terry. Thanks for posting those pictures.
  8. Joey's jerky is the second best jerky I've tasted, with #1 being the Noelville butcher's.
  9. The plummas spent Sunday eve in Barrie, having made great time yesterday. Greencoachdog hit the 400 at daybreak from Toronto, and should be enjoying a cool sparkling beverage right about now with Joe and Art. I can't see how this could possibly help with those ants in pants, but, there ya go.
  10. Dem res' browns sure are purdy. Thanks for your report and fine pictures.
  11. That reminds me of Jack Daniels. Nice 'bow, Pat.
  12. Happy Birfday, camillj, and best fishes.
  13. Too true. I like this one about the difference between dogs and cats. The dog says, "These people feed me, look after me, care for me and love me. They must be gods.". The cat says, "These people feed me, look after me, care for me and love me. I must be a god."
  14. Jwilly, maybe no one here has been to Axe Lake. Don't get huffy.
  15. That sounds extreme in every way! Get those pictures up soon. Thanks for the report.
  16. Look here for Big Jon replacement parts. Or give em a call at (705) 476-6010. They're in North Bay - Bay Distributors - and should be able to put the part in the mail for you.
  17. Someone has the photo post from the Lakair Crayola Invitational tourneys #s 1 et deux. Pretty darn sure that this would be a great place to stick it / them. Seeing a snoozing Mod trussed like a turkey is a very special thing. I personally won't be the same after that.
  18. What a great looking laker you got there, Buster. Nice shootin'.
  19. I caught my first muskie on the lower Niagara, drifting for steelhead. Nothing to it. I guess that's why they call muskies 'shoal carp', more of a nuisance fish than anything.
  20. For further clarification, that Theory was inadvertently left behind at Lakair last year, and despite many requests for shipment, I had to actually meet Roy in Picton to receive it.
  21. JB's has the Daiwa Theory for $109. If you ask, Steve or Brian might spool it for you with XL or P Line fluoro for free. Adam, just to clarify Roy's comment(s), that was really a poorly disguised compliment.
  22. Raf is right on the money. You can't beat Daiwa for value.
  23. Those are three lucky, happy guys. Whether they tell you or not (not cool, prolly), this is something they know for sure. You're quite the gal, Jen.
  24. I never catch fish when fishing with Roy either.
