Does the ice cube not have zippable windows? I really like that feature on my Excursion. The outer clear plastic windows also velcro off.. very convenient for others around me if I smoke. If I didn't have the windows I'd be going outside for a smoke or sticking my head out the door lol Good stuff though. Sure beats standing in the open eh?

I never say the same thing twice ... bad luck! There are some funny stories about this.. but they'd have to be told in person. Not politically correct enough for a public forum.

With the exception of nets hauling them in by the ton, overfishing is not a worry for perch populations.

"best of" would be cool, if there's any way to regulate it. Some sort of button you have to hit on a report perhaps.. where if it makes that certain number of button pushes it gets into the best of forum. I dunno, just shootin' ideas.

Never seen a perch take a sunfish or rock bass before.. those are some feisty perch!

Hard to explain. Perhaps I got too focused or competitive about it. Wanted to get to my destination so bad, I never stop to look out the window on the way there.. if that makes any sense. It was no longer about fun.. heck it was barely even about fishing. So I got out of it. I will get back into it again I'm sure.

Look for a local B.A.S.S. or other federation to join as a non-boater. GREAT way to learn about local waters and bass fishing in general. Tournaments are sure fun, keep them that way. They became not so fun for me a couple years ago, so I stopped fishing them.

The lights do spook certain species. Crappies however, seem to be attracted to the light if left stationary long enough.

Police Foundations at the Peterborough Campus is a better program going into the working world, and a lot more fun. I went to Fleming for business.. those guys in Police Foundations were always having more fun than us number crunchers.

Can't say I've sharpened hooks out of the package, but I definitely sharpen them regularly. Very important IMO. As for the Rap hooks, never had bad experiences with them personally. I am a bigger fan of Excalibur hooks though.

Bass are just as active as pike. As for the schooling issue, why should seasons be the same on largemouth and smallmouth? They are seperate species. Largemouth I know from watching underwater cameras do not pair up and are active at certain periods of the day. Since smallies school so deep, instituting a winter season on largemouth (which are generally found shallower, alongside crappies and pike) would not be hard to regulate.

Ontario's bass regs are dated and need to be re-worked. There is no good reason for a closed ice season.

I figured if my artificial crusade goes poorly on the next trip, I better have a back-up. I don't want to go home skunked 3 times fishing perch and sunfish. lol I bought some of the pre-packaged preserved waxies from CTC. Figured it's worth a try. Anyone else tried them? Are they as good as live stuff, or even close?
