  1. I use a quad battery from walmart.. Cost about 30 bucks. Boat charger works on it, and it lasts several days.
  2. AND ill be buying a vapour cig on my way into work, because i know break time will be the toughest part of the day.
  3. Day 1: not so bad. No craving for a cigarette whatsoever yet, even with a cup of java down the hole. I think the best advice was the "dont smoke in the morning" rule. I thought about it and, in the morning, when i light up that first smoke, i usually crave a couple more before work. If i just dont have that "first" smoke.. HOPEFULLY i never get that first craving! I cant thank you all enough for the support and advice. Im hoping this is the time i crush the habit, so i can spend just a little more on that 'other' habit of chasing fishies
  4. You sure live up to your name as "the bass fisher"! Lol Looks like another excellent season for ya. Congrats and thanks for sharing!
  5. Its come to the point that i no lobger enjoy cigarettes.. i can feel them wreaking havoc on my guts every morning, and i dont wanna be chained to them anymore. Ive tried cold turkey twice and it just dont work for me. What worked for you, if you quit? If cold turkey, how'd you counter the cravings? Thanks Rich
  6. 1/4 90% of the time
  7. Dont go into the light!
  8. I bought a pihranamax 210 used for 20 bucks. 12v battery about 30 bucks. I used an old swiffer handle for the transducer, and an old tackle box for the... Well.. box. So for 50 bucks i have a nice portable unit year round and the 12v quad deep cycle lasts for days!
  9. I meant for more options to fish than the few open areas. Its nice when you have the whole river as an option. I misworded my reply, my bad.
  10. Now i'll go live my life, and others will continue wasting theirs with moronic replies.
  11. I think corporate sponsorship may be standing between communication barriers here. So believe the hype, or believe real people, or figure it out for yourself, or continuously spend your time pissing people off on internet forums. It's your life ( a pretty sad one if thats your hobby) but - lifestyle is also your preference. Thats the fun of life.
  12. That it's not necessary. That it's your preference how you do it. My point hasn't changed, nor has people's lack of understanding.
  13. Airplane jigs exclusively, chartreuse, for pike through ice. I have one permanently tied on my windlass.
  14. I'd pick a time when the season is open.. just me though..
  15. So if all that gear is necessary WOW ive been lucking out for spring carp for 20 years now! I mean, i need a slingshot, landing net, mat, specialized holders, feeder rigs, boilies, flavored maize.. but SOMEHOW those technical savvy carp have been hitting hooks and corn all these years!
  16. I personally found them awful. Gulp minnows got more bites, hands down.
  17. Depends how you fish. I run deadbait for pike most the day, my sonar is enough. If i was crappie/perch/laker/walleye fishing, you bet i'd drop the bucks.
  18. Wait a minute.. where's the PINK?
  19. Bahahahaha.. i dare not answer such questions
  20. Definitely species dependant for me
  21. First post. Re-read before freaking out.
  22. I cant believe people took offense to this post, really. Dudes are pm'img me some harassing stuff. Didnt mean to insult or offend anyone. Bye ofc, yet again. Grow the heck up.
  23. No.. Ive been doing it forever. I re-freeze them constantly in the fall.. I use a ton of salt. There is still a rotting process before the salt sets in and freezing helps slow the process. In the fridge they get stinky.
  24. I've caught largemouth with those spots as well, usually in very cold water. I think it may be a form of fishy frostbite... At least thats what my grandpa told me.
  25. My grandmother has a cottage on a small haliburton lake. When pike were first introduced, i spent a week there and averaged 60 pike a day, not to mention countless big smallies in the mornings. It was a whole week i couldnt do anything wrong.
