  1. Fished there once this past summer, skunked. Mind you, I did not have any maps or a fishfinder with me so it was pretty tough. Tried trolling crankbaits to cover as much water and not a single nibble. Would definitely go back though as it is a very beautiful lake and to redeem myself as well http://www.redsfishin.com/3.html ^ Written by a member of this site Hope that helps and let us know how you make out!
  2. Nice vids there! Lovin the angle, can't wait to see some of those autumn footballs on deck
  3. Having limited experience catching nighttime wallies myself so far, there's not much to say that hasn't already been mentioned in here. Although I would like to contribute these articles I came upon with some pretty good info methinks: http://www.in-fisherman.com/2011/07/19/baits-for-shorecasting-walleyes/ and http://www.in-fisherman.com/2011/07/18/boatless-fall-walleyes/ Last year my success came from bombing out long minnow baits and reeling them in steadily. This year I plan to focus more on the soft plastic shad baits, and jig fishing. Good luck all

  7. Great to see the little ones persevere through that! Good on ya and thanks for sharing
  8. I can smell the slime already Those all look VERY enticing. If I may ask Solo, how does one fish a weedless spoon? Can't wait for the report. Cheers
  9. x2 on the soft plastic jerkbait (Slug-go). I would deadstick it if there are no follows or else work it using a real slow retrieve with rod tip between 9 and 11 reeling in the slack. Work it back to the boat/shore. Also, if you aren't already, try fishing the north shore first as the water will be warmer and possibility of more active fish. Cheers
  10. Just tried it on a few hooks and I like it as well. Gonna give it a go this season to see how it holds up against the trusty palomar. Thanks Garry2Rs
  11. Sad to hear, he will definitely be missed. Condolences go out to his loved ones. May he Rest in Peace

  15. Glad to see the CO's doing their job, seems as if there is almost a daily report of them out there lately Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I, like many others here as well, was unaware of the regulations regarding the limits and this so-called "party fishing," just another perk to this forum. Will definitely keep this in mind next time I'm group fishing and keeping a limit.
  16. Welcome back, hope to be up and around your neck of the woods this summer.. expect a PM or two
  17. ^ Thanks for the heads up, was gonna make my way over there to check it out but I guess I shouldn't bother
  18. Yep it's FMZ 17, so pike is open all year I haven't fished it before so I can't offer any advice but I plan to this softwater season in my canoe.

  20. Well, they're lipless crankbaits so yes, I would say your regular crankbait rod would suffice These lures are intended to be retrieved with a softer rod with good parabolic action based on my catches, and having the softer rod allows the thin wire trebles better chance of hooking up with the fishies
  21. I'm actually quite fond of the smaller "junior" sized rattle baits, run these over the tops of weeds and HANG ON! For the common sized rattle baits, I agree that they are good search baits in deeper water and are great for calling the fish in. I like working these baits with a steady retrieve, and also reeling in the slack line and sweeping the lure back with the rod, then reeling in the slack again and repeat; I find this method produces the loudest rattle out of the bait depending on how hard your sweep the rod. It all depends on the mood of the fish, temperature, conditions etc.
  22. 7'3 MH 1 piece here, I use it as my frog rod and for pitching jigs and plastics. Great rod, very light with a sensitive tip and good backbone for horsing the fish out. I have it paired with a Shimano Citica and the low profile seat matched with the low profile reel makes it real comfortable to palm in my hand. Cheers

  24. That's awesome, the video quality is superb dude Would love to know what software he's using as he seems to be putting these vids together with ease, I have a bit of experience with Adobe Premiere but looking for something simpler than that; but more technical than Movie Maker, PM me if that's easier Cheers
