hi guys another minor problem we found tonight..we went to do a load of laundry and the pile of clothes that was on the floor beside the furnace was soaked..its in the middle of the house so no leaks from exterior walls..its almost as if the furnace has leaked water from above..although the carpet was wet as well?...it does have a humidistat on the side of it but its dry as a bone..its a Ducane high eff. propane furnace...I am going to call someone in the morning just curious if I could hear any thoughts here first... thanks guys

Hi guys..I was wondering if anyone had a contact for some insulation/minor ice dam help... this is part of of an email that I sent out to a couple places thanks guys ( we are between Orillia and Midland ) The attic has blown in pink insulation but we have a couple of spots where we get ice dam build ups over the kitchen area in the winter. My wife crawled up there last fall and had a look ( I was a bit too big!) and there appeared to be the styrofoam soffit vents in place as well as insulation. I'm not sure if some insualtion has blown over into the soffitt area itself towards the outside. The dam seems to have reappeared this winter and I am not sure why. When you look at the roof from the side you can sometimes see a 'strip' down to the shingles in a couple spots up to the peak of the roof; I'm guessing some obvious heat loss hence the circulation/ice dam issue. We do have 3 whirlybirds on the roof but they are on the other side of the roof. The previous owners did re-do the roof a few years ago and installed 2-3 layers of ice shield so we have no leakage problems but obviously something is going on...there are icicles on the roof now. Anyway, not sure if its something that an insulation company could advise about or if I need to go to a roofing company.. any help or thoughts app

So I guess everyone has heard the news that Target has bought up Zellers in Canada for 1.8 billion or so but they wont be changing anything up for quite awhile. I have been to Target but cant remember what their sports/fishing dept is like..Zellers has pretty much dried up in that regard, People are wondering if the product will be the same as the US stores...time will tell I guess.. Target, WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes...alll we need now are Olive Garden Restaurant's back!!

I recently downloaded the android app "great Lakes' and love it! It covers a ton of lakes from east to west including Ottawa River, Georgian Bay, Lake Simcoe, tons more and quite a few in northern NY State. It doesnt quite go up to Lake Muskoka but still awesome... It shows the depths of the lakes, shoals, distances and a lot more..perfect for us boaters without a gps/sonar unit right now..cheaper too! It will use a lot of your battery and data plan..just fyi (data plan outside your home, inside you should be able to use your wireless router)..but the battery will go down if you are on it all day! enjoy

I downloaded the 'app' for the android smartphone and all I can say is awesome! It covers a ton of lakes with depth, contours etc...well worth the $12 in my opinion especially when I dont have a GPS on my boat yet! really awesome app...

I'm not scolding anyone and feel for the family, but it happens every year. How can the message get through any clearer than it already is portrayed in the media etc..to stay off frozen waterways....I dont understand.. -
Great things we have hidden in our garage
ColdH20guy replied to aplumma's topic in General Discussion
you are correct John..first 2 are messerschmitts and the red one is a BMW Isetta. the blue one is quite rare.only 1 in Canada right now as it has 4 wheels as opposed to the usual 3 that so many 'schmitts have.. -
