Yup Pro tackle is a great shop.... Best musky shop I've been in personally... But I look for variety... Different shops usually mean different baits... So I REALLY like a store that gets different lures in year to year to keep regulars coming back... You know what I'm saying... A guy only needs so many jakes and believers... Lmao

Nevermind Went Definatley not worth the drive...

Anyone been to this store lately...? I was in Ottawa overnight and I'd like to get a couple baits... I'm leaving soon and wondering if it's worth the 20 minute drive opposite direction if home... Website is garbage so I can't tell what they have for musky... Worth going?

There was never and there will never be enough COs to protect all the spawning sites...

On my home water... What type of structure were you catching on? Any other water I'd ask What was your program or pattern? That covers everything...lol

Nice... I think more and more we need to cut costs... Great job... I started making my own stingers hooks this year... Cost max 0.25$ each instead of 3 for $5 at can tire... I probably spent $50+ on 30 stingers last year... I can make 100 for about $20-25

Well considering I've already ordered $35 of aluminium rivets... And the cost of extra materials to "hopefully" protect the boat from corroding... I think I might call it a learning experience and get some regular plywood... Just frustrating throwing away $100 At least I have a good template to trace... Lol

Well it looks like I have some thinking to do here... I've been reading up on it cause of you all... A solution I read is spray "plasti dip" on the aluminum stringers and I can coat the bottom of the plywood with it as well... I wish I would have known before I did the work and cut up over $100 of plywood... I'll keep reading up I guess and make a decision...

Here's day 1 on my boat floor project... Well I got the floor gutted today... Then got the wood cut to fit... 5/8 pressure treated... Just gotta cut holes for the seat bases... Glue the vinyl... Put the vinyl wrapped pieces of floor in the boat... Drill and rivet... And install seat bases...

I retract my previous statement... I was obviously taking some serious drugs and I apologize if I've misled any wives...

It seams like a fun trip if your not patient enough for opener here... Every year I consider it but then I remember in a couple weeks I'll be catching as many walleye as I want 5 minutes from my house... And then I can't justify the time and money to go there...

I've been told it cast far by guys I've fished with...

So ideal time to fish them is when you find them in water over 50 degrees... They seam a lot more active at these temps... You can catch them year round but personally I like the pre spawn fishing in April-May and post spawn in June... After that I'm done with them for the year... Fishing from now till spawn is generally best in shallow warm bays... After the spawn they start to head for deeper open water depending on the lake/river...

I'm carp fishing right now... Lol... Ice chunks floating by.., In these cold water temps the hardest part is finding the fish.., and with ice in most areas your options are limited as well...

I've used seperate units and this year I'll have seperate units... Both a humminbird GPS/sonar combos... So 1 will be used as GPS and the other sonar.. Biggest advantage... If 1 unit fails I can use the other as a combo again...
