  1. I like the white one with The black stripe. What is the clear and black whisker called? Unfortunately I’m not river fishing for salmon. Maybe I can try flies for Brookies next year.
  2. Good call on the in water release. I was thinking of the slime because I did a trip where we kept a few and my boat was wall to wall slime by the end of the week. It’s nice to bring the younger guys because then you have somebody to carry your gear.
  3. Great read bunk. cool that shag went with you. the boats must get full of laker slim every day.
  4. Lake O would be a nice trip but I haven’t given up on GB yet. towing the boat from Barrie to lake O ain’t great either.
  5. I’d like to find a good salmon bite but where? I guess I could go for Erie walleye. I’m not sure what to do for the next trip.
  6. Went to Meaford for kings. Not much on the finder. Ran new gear and everything worked great. Big Jon electric is really fast compared to my old one. The big Jon free and easy release works ok and I got one fish on it. I’ll have to try it again to see if I’m going to keep using it. 2/2 on lake trout. Nice morning out.
  7. Perfect thanks very much.
  8. Where should I go for the best chance at a fish. Wasaga. Meaford or owensound. I haven’t been to Wasaga or meaford launch in years. Is wasaga park launch still good. Meaford launch on hayfield st park on side of street still good?
  9. I probably have 1hr boating/fishing to 5hrs repairs maintenance upgrades and fishing gear prep.
  10. I’m thinking about port burwell. It looks like the closest and best drive. I’ve never fished it. How many miles out to 50’ deep? I might start fishing Owensound for salmon first though.
  11. It’s three hours to get there or I’d go by myself. my son wants to go but he’s busy at work.
  12. Doesn’t anyone on here fish Lake Erie? 6 walleye limit any size for sport fishing lic. where can you get that.
  13. What a ripoff. Thanks for the info.
  14. I see it’s $10 to launch. Then it looks like it’s $50 to park there. anyone know for sure.
  15. I’m going to get one too. I need the cooling more than the heating.
  16. Muskie fishing everywhere has slowed down.
  17. Only problem is it’s a 4.5hr drive one way from Barrie. if anyone can go they should. 1mile out and start fishing. So pick your day and you can go in a car topper.
  18. Fireworks in building go boom.
  19. Went to st Clair for musky. Had a hit and straight drag. Sun was bright so the Bimini was up. Buddy grabbed The rod and hit the Bimini not reeling fast enough and slack line fish gone. Got a small pike and a channel cat on Muskie lures. Not enough action pulled to plug. went to Erie for pickerel and limited out in 3hrs.
  20. Anyone like the big Jon Free'N Easy down riggerRelease. I have one that I’ve never used. I’ve been using the Scotty snapper ones. Probably not needed for salmon but might be good for smaller lakers.
  21. Ontario fish for free week Ontario residents without a licence can once again fish for free during the return of Family Fishing Week from June 28 to July 6, 2025.

  22. I run my ff off the main batt. No problems. I have heavy gage wire to a fuse panel under the dash then humming bird wire from there. the issue is the person who did the install. Wired wrong.
  23. Thanks. it’s will make the gear easy to move as I plan on having two boats. I fab some stuff. I’m doing the bases for the tube rod holders and downeasters.
  24. Finally got the tracks installed. I bought a 3’ one and cut it in half. It has enough room for a Downrigger and a double rod holder on each side. when I go for Muskie I can have a down Easter and a double rod holder on each side.
  25. Yes set up time is also a concern. Last years set up took three hours. Two dining tents and a sleeping tent.
