  1. That's just what we needed. Now we know what we are shooting for. Thanks.
  2. I bought these shoes. They are waterproof. they were on sale at marks for $50. I am going to get a pair of waterproof socks too. I cant wear rubber boots cause i need all the balance i can get. Thanks for the idea's.
  3. Boat shoes - what do you wear with your rain suit ??? My feet get wet when i have running shoes on. I like running shoes cause they give me better balance in the boat. I see mark's has water proof runners on for $60. Maybe i will try them.
  4. Sinker were you marking the same amount of fish when they were not hitting your bait as when you were catching them???
  5. There is a slot size on some of those lakes. Good luck.
  6. That's not good. Are you doing the exact same things as them? What are they doing? Fishing has been slow on the west side of the lake. I was marking alot of smelt when i was out there. Only had a few bites.
  7. What would they do if they had to turn right. It would be a blood bath.
  8. WTG pikeie!
  9. Nice fish.
  10. Wow what a nice boat. "The hull and sub structure is all aluminum" I like that part. Will you be fishing from it? If so for what fish?
  11. Some spots just don't hold very many fish every day. They have alot of room to move around. Thats the problem with simcoe i guess. Thats were I started the morning (north east).
  12. Right after it happened i asked him what pound test it was and he said 4lb. I was on his case a little for that then he said it was eight. I bet it was four but i never went to check it myself.
  13. I got up about 4.45am and my buddy came and picked me up. We arrived at alcona about 7am and met my other buddy. Then we signed in. It was a beautiful morning with the sun coming up. That made the day right there. We jumped on the bikes and went half way to long Is shoal. It was about 95ft deep on the finder. A few light bites from smelt for the first 1.5hrs. Then I had one heavy fish on for a few seconds fishing right on bottom. I had him up about 15ft and he let go . If i was betting i would say a whitie of 3lbs or more. Near 11am we moved in to fish perch 65ft deep near Bigchev just off the boat ramp. Got set up and fished till 12.45 with no bites and no marks on the finder. I think we should have been a little deeper. So we went in for lunch. That was great having somthing hot to eat. to the cooks. I talked to a few people near the food. I was the guy with the 1960's blue helmut on with goggles. I could not stay long cause my buddys were the ones driving and they wanted to fish. They could not stand still. So we tried a new spot in 75ft. We marked a few fish on bottom. We had one bite but buddy broke his line on the hook set. After fishing for about 8hours we still had no whities. Thankyou for a fun time. :thumbsup_anim: I will be there next year.
  14. You have to figure it out before you start fishing. My way is dont touch my line unless i ask you to keep and eye on it. If ask you and you pull in a fish it is then your fish. My buddy tells a story about his uncle not near his line and getting a bite. So buddy brings in the fish. His uncle says the fish is mine and it is now mounted on the uncles wall. I wonder what he says when people ask how did that big one bite.
  15. Get well soon. That stuff is nasty.
  16. The chitter is at the ramp 4or 5 of them. They are sitting up a midway. There is a no ATV sign at the ramp. but there is a trail through the park just before the ramp parking lot.
  17. Thanks Clampet. I dont know where the bait is in Innisfil and i dont know when they open.
  18. I need bait early tomorrow.
  19. :clapping:
  20. I went out today from Alcona at the GTG area. There is good walking for one km. That puts you at the first huts out from the launch (about 80ft of water). At about 1.5 km out on the way to fox there is a large slush area. ATV's with no load just made it though. One ATV with a small load was stuck for about 15min. Sleds were ok. The slush area is very wet with 6" of water. It will be the same on sat. The ice was about 14" thick with 8" of snow on top. There are a few snow drifts also. I fished for a few hours and we caught some perch and there are alot of smelt. We saw some bigger fish on the finder. Good luck to everyone. I will see you there.
