Fly Fishing Rod HELP! Hard to pull apart
highdrifter replied to kayak fisher's topic in General Discussion
Aye t'es super vite Roy! That's a nice piece Kayak Fisher. Aluminum or nickel metal ferrules have a nasty habit of getting wedged in. The oil or "fat" in the crease between your cheek and nose offers just the right lube to prevent this. That takes me back though. That trick was one of the first things I learned in my fly casting class with Gordon Deval. His cheek would be dirty after a session of casting ahahha. cheers HD -
OUCH!! Too bad for the alligator. This was a predator-prey responce created in an artificial setting.. Hope they saved his arm.. Otherwise, that gator was killed in vain. Thanx for morning read. A sobering thought indeed!! cheers HD

Hellooo! Had some time the other night and hit the peer. Thought to myself that it was gonna just another night, so my expectations were low. Saw some folks working the water when I got there, but was told that there wasn't much doing.. Started casting cleos and HJs, and switched to the good ol glow in the dark when the sun started setting. I almost fell in when my rod doubled over with the run of a solid fish, but was broken off about a hundred yards out, give or take.. All I had left were 5/8s, but still managed some good distance. Another hit, and a great battle insued! After multiple breaches and solid runs, I thought for sure I had hooked into a steelhead... Turns out that it was a Coho!! And the promo shot.. cheers HD

I full heartedly understand my friend. The topic of fishing seems to come up all the time, even on first dates. It's just the facts of life.. Girls understand from the get-go that to love me means to love fishing... Boner material for me is fast currents, clear water and dancing chrome.. Only time we talk about other stuff is when we're actually out on the water. Let's get together sometime! Fishing in the harbor should pick up as the summer progresses.. cheers HD

Dude where's the blackfish... the Tautogs?! I remember you violating them with green crabs when we were out there.. Fluke and porgies...mmmmmm. Does Ms. De la Cruz cook them the same way?? Scaled, seasoned and deepfried.. queue Homer.. Great report budday. Target Rock was a close to heaven as I've ever gotten, thanx for that. Good to see you in there with the fishcat also. tight loops HD -

True. The smell is pretty rank... Not far from what you'd call a sesspool!! I pass through there on the way to the park... I see people in their lawn chairs in those pools, seems like they're imune to the smell!!

Ah yessss. But how productive is the US exactly in those hours. That's a whole new ball game. Also, working conditions in France are WAY more lax than here in North America. Interesting stats though! cheers HD

Meaning out of whack, out of the ordinary. Being social has nothing to do with it. Pardon me if I seem opinionated, but I'm a leo. If this was my report, I'd take it personally and feel that you'd be over-stepping it by doing something like that. Wouldn't you? No harm done though, the writer of this thread doesn't seem to mind. You're a kewl guy and I have total respect, but that last one kinda threw me for a loop I must say.

Hey ufish2, What kinda cage is it? If it's a have-a-heart, chances are its too low for the skunk to lift its tail. They may stink up to high heaven, but if they're unable to lift their tails, you need not worry! Maureen had a good point though. In order to avoid giving the animal un-due stress, just place an old blanket over top of the cage when you transport it. Let us know how the relocation went!! cheers HD
