There are several States where carrying a gun is quite common, I think FL is one of them. I would be interested in knowing how they stack up against Ontario as far a violent crimes are concerned. To me it makes sense that if only the criminals have guns then they have little to fear except the police who I believe are often out numbered and in many cases out guned. If everyone carried a gun most criminals would think twice about walking into a bank or store and pulling a gun (well any of the smart ones would).. Our government already DICTATES so much of our lives and then turn around and tell us that this is a democracy. I believe that what we have is just a dictatorship with many heads. Vote for whoever you want, they give themselves lavish pensions, raises, fill their friends pockets, lie, steal from us and spend our money to make themselves look good. Then they give us back a pittance of what they have already taken from us and try to make us believe they are doing something good for us!

I have owned guns all my life and was trained to use them at a very early age. I have had hand guns (with permits) since I was in my early 20s. I am an excellent shot and have won many compititions over the years but not once in all those years has having a gun or knowing how to use it made me feel like a hero. Would I shoot someone? Well I guess I would if I had to but believe me the circumstances would have to be do or die for me or one of my family. I have had to stand my ground a few times through my life and I've had my share of fights but never have I felt the need to pull a gun. I'm almost 70 now and I couldn't hold my own in a good fist fight with some young thoug but I'd sure try before I'd resort to shooting someone. To take another persons life for any reason has ruined far too many innocent peoples lives. PTSD has probably claimed as many lives as gun fights have.

It is so easy to talk tough but when it comes right down to it, taking anothers life is a decision I hope none of you will ever have to make! To break a mans legs with a baseball bat, to shoot him in the leg, where do you get to make that sort of a decision in a split second. I too will defend my family at all cost but my first response would be "I have a gun and I will use it". I can't see anyone in their right mind continuing to advance. I hope none of you find yourself in a position where you have to decide to use deadly force, those that have often suffer as much as or even more than the recepient.

Protecting my house and property is one thing, touch my daughter and they would never found his body!

What are you stupid? Making a criminal responsible for their actions? We are asked not to judge all muslims by the actions of a few but we are asked to judge all gun owners by the actions of a few! Logic in this country is a very rare thing! It totally escapes me! (oh and just to clarify, I happen to know you are not stupid)! (Also, I hapen to have friends that are Muslim) so don't even play that card with me!

Just saw an ad on TV about the new Wynne sex ed program being forced down our throats, said "paid for by the government of Ontario" Bull spit, Wynne paid for it using my money without my permission just like she is paying for all kinds of stuff. Yesterday I was listening to the radio about her selling hydro; said she didn't care what people thought, she was doing it anyway! Funny, no one I talked to voted liberal but she got a majority??????

They really don't care who you vote for as long as it isn't one of the other two. The only thing they care about is getting into power then they break promisses, tell more lies, pad their buddies pockets and the whole cycle repeats itself in 4 years at our expense. Until there is accountability it will never change and who do you think is going to create and uphold that accountability?

All I know is I am so tired of all the lies and bull spit. For the first time in my life I am considering not voting, as I see it, all I am going to do is vote for a bunch of lies so why bother.

Seafoam is wonderful stuff but it doesn't remove dirt, it will desolve varnish build up and clean out carbon (which you don't have in your carb) (save your money and don't bother buying the plug, that isn't the problem) Seafoam is probably going to cost you $12.00, if that doesn't work then If you take it in to a shop you are probably looking at a minimum $50 - $75. A drive up here is going to cost you maybe $40.00 in gas and we'll clean and adjust the carb, sharpen and balance the blade, change the oil, and lubricate any cables. You have done so much to help others over the years, if you are willing to take the drive, I'm willing to try to repay some of your kindness.

You can still get fox urin in the hunting supply stores. in fact I think I still have a bottle and will give that a try. I have a solution for the red squirrels but it doesn't just repell them. We had a good relationship until they decided my attic was going to be their new home.

We have a family of coons that moved in to our area this summer, the keep pulling our composter apart and also come up on the deck to get the feed we put out for the birds. They are so bold that even when I try to chase them away they just sit there. The other night I threw my shoe at one of them to try to get him to leave, within a minute he was back with three others. I walked back in and got the .22 figuring I'd shoot one of them and they'd get the idea, opened the door and never even got the gun up to my sholder all four of them were gone and didn't come back the rest of the evening. let me know how the pee thing works!

Other than perhaps gettting a bit of dirt in the carb there shouldn't be any serious damage done. Now, if it has an automatic choke on it (and it probably does) the choke would be (should be) in the closed position when you go to start it and open after starting it not the other way around as you stated in your OP (unless I am misunderstanding something). everything you have described leads me to believe that you have dirt in your carb. Cleaning the jet on that carb is not an easy thing to do unless you know what you are doing. The jet is up inside the carb and nearly impossible to get out unless you remove the carb. Once the carb is off, you need to remove the bowl and using a screw driver unscrew the jet, even then they can be a bit tricky to get it to drop out of the carb. If you feel like taking a drive I would be happy to show you how to do it. PS. could have been worse; they could have put straight gas in a 2 stroke. That would have been a lot harder to fix

I'm pretty sure we saw that boat out on Sturgeon Lake the other day, both Sue and I were wondering about that setup. The former I/O makes sense.

John was an exception in many ways and helped out so many people on this board my daughter included. He will be forever in our hearts for what he did. Not all agents are bad, my brother is a real-estate agent and has been for many years. He would be quick to tell you about the good and bad ones out there. He has told me many stories of agents that sell by convincing the seller to list lower than what the true value is. He has also told me many stories about how a good agent protects their customers and actually works for them rather than just trying to close a deal to get the commision. In fact he would not even take a referal on listing our place because he is in Cornwall and didn't feel he would be able to do enough to earn a commission in selling our place.

And we as a people are so badly fragmented that we will never stand as one, it's the old "divide and conquer" routine, they have been playing the game and it works. As for Wynne the POO, she doesn't care where they are going to live or what you and I think, she just does what ever she wants because she can! She is in her own words "Lesbian and the Premier of Ontario, how special is that?" ( in that order of importance) I can only imagine how much damage she'll be able to do if Justin does get elected, scarey!!!!!

Just found out the house 3 doors over from us sold through Property Guys for 588, no boathouse, no garage, about the same square footage and similar in many other respects to ours. The other big advantage we have is we aren't in a hurry to sell (spring and fall fishing right off the dock is excellent )

Well, we had a very interesting day! Met with the local rep from Property Guys, Ken. right from the start it was very comfortable, he spent most of the first half hour listening and looking. Then he carefully explained their process and shared some of their results. By the end of it all he suggested that perhaps we should get an independient apprasial so we had a good idea of waht a fair price would be for waht we had to offer. We will know in the next two weeks if I am expecting too much or not! I will re post!
