  1. If you can't catch fish with these, you might as well give up fishing πŸ˜‚
  2. I got a package in the mail today, it was anticipated but turned out to be way beyond my expectations. Brian, you are amazing! If these don't catch fish, dinamite wouldn't! Thank you so much!
  3. I am 76, just try to intimidate a young person doing their job in front of me! I am to old to fight, too stupid to run, but I can still lift my foot high enough to make you wish you were at least a foot taller. I am so tired of this bull poop!
  4. Yesterday I went fishing. A couple of fellows in the hut next to us had all the gear, underwater camera, sonar, ...... the latest of everything (including a really nice pair of Nikie running shoes LOL). They saw all kinds of fish on their sonar and underwater camera but couldn't get a bite. We were 100' away, didn't have a toy to play with but we knocked the heck out of the fish with over 100 caught. Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH fishing gear?
  5. I totally support the rally in principal, I do believe that we are being manipulated by the media and they are reporting the negative incidents for a reason (try 600 million reasons, Canadian with a brain will know what I mean here). Our rights and freedoms are being taken away from us little by little in the name of the "common good". The funny thing is, not one person I have talked to agrees with it yet here we are and we are constantly being told (it's for the COMMON good). I put a post on FB expressing a view, it was my own personal opinion, FB took it down, it wasn't in keeping with THEIR policies. I didn't use foul language, I didn't make a threat against anyone, I just expressed my opinion/view. Censorship at it's finest, wouldn't want to allow a negative view would we? I think this is just the beginning, I think we are going to see protests like this more and more in the future, heck it's already happening all over the world. Covid isn't fun, it isn't easy, heck it's even killing people but all the shots,, boosters, lock downs, limitations...... aren't stopping it. Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results and yet we keep doing it! This will probably get locked, I guess it's sort of political in a sense, sad, we have a lot of members and I think sharing our feelings, frustration and views here is a way for us to communicate our thoughts and feelings, learn about why we feel the way we do and try to understand others point of view.
  6. Well, yesterday we had a warm up from extreme cold to a fairly mild day by comparison, the bite was amazing, we caught well over 100 fish.
  7. OMG, Those look absolutely amazing! You truly are an artist. I will come and pick them up anytime after Friday if that works for you.
  8. Can you make some up with a white body (similar to lawn grubs) (the smaller the better) if so, I would be interested in 8 of them.
  9. Cold front coming in, fishing is going to be slower, warm front coming in, the bite seems to improve. The amount of varation in the cold/warm seems to be in direct correlation to the change in the bite.
  10. I'll go for a volume discount 6 for $15.00 😊
  11. Those are absolutly amazing!
  12. It was a wonderful day fishing and you are right Steve, it's been way too long! It was really nice to have a chance to catch up and reminisce about some of our previous outings, we sure have created some fond memories. The new blades for my electric filleting knife got a great work out, these ones are a little longer than the originals which I really liked. As discussed, we will be doing it again before the ice out. Oh, and I still think those ones that got off had to be at least 3 lbsπŸ˜‰
  13. The big advantage with using an operator is safety. Simco can be dangerous, pressure cracks, whiteouts, unsafe ice...... a good operator has the equipment and knowledge to keep you safe.
  14. I use to do my own thing, haul gear, drill holes.......... not any more. For the last several years I have been using Tim Hales. Huts are clean and warm, good safe parking, transportation too and from the huts, two burner colman stove, 12V lights and USB port for charging your phone or what ever, unlimited pin head minnows included, and the only tackle I use is a drop shot rig or the odd time a small jig. Keep it simple and enjoy. Cost $60.00 per person cash only minimum two persons per hut week days 3 persons per hut weekends. If you want to hook up for a day out let me know, I could meet up with you at Beaverton and show you the ropes for a day.
  15. Tim Hale is putting huts out starting today, I am already booked for Wednesday 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
  16. Took a drive around Lake Scugog yesterday and stopped at Freedom Canoe & Kayak in Caesarea. They have a huge selection of wood pellets for smokers and some really nice looking smoker/grills combinations. If you are in the area and need smoker supplies check them out, great people and very customer oriented. paddlefreedom.com
  17. Single (39") Available in Lindsay, in good condition, must pick up, I cannot deliver. Non smoking home.
  18. Ya, a little Yamaha 2.3 hp air cooled two stroke for about $800.00 . A spare liter of gas weighs less than a battery, heck the whole motor only weighs about 29 lbs. And a liter of gas will run it for hours.
  19. The same people that make most of the rules that don't make much sense, mourns without a clue but a connection in Ottawa.
  20. You might be able to use freezer burned meat and fish as bear bait, that would be one way to recover it, just let the bear eat it before you shoot it πŸ˜€, kind of like "how do you unscramble an egg?" Feed it to a chicken 😊
  21. As far as I know there is no good way to salvage freezer burned foods but if you vac seal things before freezing them you won't have a problem with freezer burn. I have packages of fish in my freezer from last winter and they are just as good now as the day they were caught. I often do things like smoked salmon or trout then vac seal and freeze it, occasionally I have found a package that has been shuffled to the bottom of the freezer and been there for many months, never a problem. That looks like a real kick ass bbq/smoker/do just about anything unit but I personally wouldn't spend the money on it unless you are really serious about smoking one heck of a lot of stuff. I have my little chief smoker and it does just about anything I want but each to their own.
  22. We lost power about 4:30 yesterday afternoon, hooked up my little 2KW generator, turned my phone into a hotspot, fired up the propane fireplace and enjoyed the evening with a good movie and dinner😊.
  23. I have been doing bread crumbs and crutons for quite a while now and just store them in a ziploc bag in the pantry, I have never had any problems! Got to try thay curry on some pork chops, sounds good😊
