I am thinking of heading down to Myrtle Beach in about two weeks to do a bit of pier fishing (about the end of March) (the whities should be running really well by then) and perhaps dig a pail or two of clams and oysters. Anyone interested? Flexable travel dates and length of stay.

And a tax on the tax, meanwhile the very same people that are imposing these taxes are giving themselves raisesπ

Good luck you two, a new adventure begins!

Would love to help, if anyone can get it to Lindsay, I will bring it the rest of the way.

I am going to Cuba, sitting on the beach isn't going to use any gas π

Oh I would love to get out smelt fishing again, we use to go down to Wellend and fish them through the ice but I haven't been in a very long time. All we used was some red wool on the hook, most of what we caught didn't have the hook, their teeth were just tangled in the wool. So much fun and great eating π

That offer still stands my friend, I had a bunch very kindly donated to me, more than I need and would be happy to share some with you if you decide you can use them. -
I am currently running windows 10 but I keep getting messages telling me to upgrade to 11. Since I don't know much about it, I figured my best bet is to find out from the pro's so? Is it a good idea?

Went out yesterday, boy was the fishing ever slow, we did manage a herring and some small perch, all but one was taken on my new favorite ice bugs. Thank you so much Brian these are amazing π
-
You would do the same for me π

If you can't catch fish with these, you might as well give up fishing π

I got a package in the mail today, it was anticipated but turned out to be way beyond my expectations. Brian, you are amazing! If these don't catch fish, dinamite wouldn't! Thank you so much!

I am 76, just try to intimidate a young person doing their job in front of me! I am to old to fight, too stupid to run, but I can still lift my foot high enough to make you wish you were at least a foot taller. I am so tired of this bull poop!

Yesterday I went fishing. A couple of fellows in the hut next to us had all the gear, underwater camera, sonar, ...... the latest of everything (including a really nice pair of Nikie running shoes LOL). They saw all kinds of fish on their sonar and underwater camera but couldn't get a bite. We were 100' away, didn't have a toy to play with but we knocked the heck out of the fish with over 100 caught. Is there such a thing as TOO MUCH fishing gear?

I totally support the rally in principal, I do believe that we are being manipulated by the media and they are reporting the negative incidents for a reason (try 600 million reasons, Canadian with a brain will know what I mean here). Our rights and freedoms are being taken away from us little by little in the name of the "common good". The funny thing is, not one person I have talked to agrees with it yet here we are and we are constantly being told (it's for the COMMON good). I put a post on FB expressing a view, it was my own personal opinion, FB took it down, it wasn't in keeping with THEIR policies. I didn't use foul language, I didn't make a threat against anyone, I just expressed my opinion/view. Censorship at it's finest, wouldn't want to allow a negative view would we? I think this is just the beginning, I think we are going to see protests like this more and more in the future, heck it's already happening all over the world. Covid isn't fun, it isn't easy, heck it's even killing people but all the shots,, boosters, lock downs, limitations...... aren't stopping it. Stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results and yet we keep doing it! This will probably get locked, I guess it's sort of political in a sense, sad, we have a lot of members and I think sharing our feelings, frustration and views here is a way for us to communicate our thoughts and feelings, learn about why we feel the way we do and try to understand others point of view.

Well, yesterday we had a warm up from extreme cold to a fairly mild day by comparison, the bite was amazing, we caught well over 100 fish.
-
OMG, Those look absolutely amazing! You truly are an artist. I will come and pick them up anytime after Friday if that works for you.
-
Can you make some up with a white body (similar to lawn grubs) (the smaller the better) if so, I would be interested in 8 of them.
-
Cold front coming in, fishing is going to be slower, warm front coming in, the bite seems to improve. The amount of varation in the cold/warm seems to be in direct correlation to the change in the bite.

I'll go for a volume discount 6 for $15.00 π

Those are absolutly amazing!

It was a wonderful day fishing and you are right Steve, it's been way too long! It was really nice to have a chance to catch up and reminisce about some of our previous outings, we sure have created some fond memories. The new blades for my electric filleting knife got a great work out, these ones are a little longer than the originals which I really liked. As discussed, we will be doing it again before the ice out. Oh, and I still think those ones that got off had to be at least 3 lbsπ

Simcoe ice Fishing. Where to start as a newbie?
Big Cliff replied to captpierre's topic in General Discussion
The big advantage with using an operator is safety. Simco can be dangerous, pressure cracks, whiteouts, unsafe ice...... a good operator has the equipment and knowledge to keep you safe. -

I use to do my own thing, haul gear, drill holes.......... not any more. For the last several years I have been using Tim Hales. Huts are clean and warm, good safe parking, transportation too and from the huts, two burner colman stove, 12V lights and USB port for charging your phone or what ever, unlimited pin head minnows included, and the only tackle I use is a drop shot rig or the odd time a small jig. Keep it simple and enjoy. Cost $60.00 per person cash only minimum two persons per hut week days 3 persons per hut weekends. If you want to hook up for a day out let me know, I could meet up with you at Beaverton and show you the ropes for a day. -
Tim Hale is putting huts out starting today, I am already booked for Wednesday πππππππ
