  1. We just lost one of my neighbors, they found him dead in his house this morning. They think he had been dead for a day or two, if it wasn't for one of the neighbors checking on him he might have laid there for a long time. Sandy was a veteran, well up there in years, but up until last Friday still able to drive and get around reasonably well. We weren't close, played cards at the club house once a week but this is a community and we all try to look out for each other. I was just told his wife is in the hospital and they don't expect her to see the end of the week either. Up until now the deaths have just been numbers but when it hits this close to home it sure becomes very real!
  2. Kudos to her, that's the way this world should work! If we all just kept paying it forward wouldn't it be nice? Stay safe and God bless! 🙏
  3. Newfie style???? I love homemade bread, please share recipe
  4. You are a little behind, 274 deaths, over 14,000 cases and unless people start following the rules it going to get even worse and last a lot longer. You might think you are invincible and you should be able to do whatever you want. I hope and pray that it isn't a member of your family that makes the list because someone wasn't willing to be inconvenienced! One thing I do know, I will do everything I can to make sure I don't contribute to the problem. Too bad many people only seem to care about themselves!
  5. Deaths in Canada jumped by 20% today alone and its going to get worse! The biggest cause is people thinking the rules don't apply to them.
  6. Please lets not get into a "us" versus "them" thing here, we are all in the same boat. Just because one person doesn't want to row with the team doesn't mean we should all stop. The death toll is into the tens of thousands already and this is a long way from over. It might not seem like much yet but if you or one of your family make it into those numbers it will become a lot more significant I bet!
  7. Had some apples that were starting to look a little tired so I made this. (didn't make quite enough pastry so I had to do a lattice top LOL) One thing I'm not loosing over this pandemic is weight LOL.
  8. Guess who is still open and doing hair, nails and brows? The Mortician!! You want an appointment? Keep going outside.
  9. I don't think that's a fair comparison, we didn't have thousands of people going to die because of what we did there. This is a case of them OR us. I wish it had been handled differently but it is what it is. I think most of the people on here would choose to take care of their family first than look out for others.
  10. They were eventually but many governments were warning people not to travel prior to that. Lots of people chose to ignore the warnings and go anyway.
  11. I really doubt that the taxes they collected on cruise and airline flights are going to come anywhere close to covering what is being spent to combat this situation! Governments all over the world were telling people not to travel long before this was declared a pandemic but people continued to go anyway.
  12. It's a gamble, $880.00 if you get caught. If you get Covid 19 it could be your or someone else's life. I'm not that much of a gambler.
  13. Thanks Doug, that's one I be trying soon! 😊
  14. I would love that recipe please
  15. When this is all over we are going to have a big celebration and a pot luck dinner😊
  16. No, I made my own starter then made the bread, I did see a recipe for sourdough bread that does use yeast though if you are interested I can try and find it for you.
  17. Me drooling all over the keyboard LOL 🤤
  18. If you'll put me on your list I'll put you on mine 🤣
  19. And the key word here is essential
  20. Political posts aren't allowed or I would tell you where I think the problem is!
  21. My very first loaf of homemade sourdough bread, it was easier than I thought but I had to modify a couple of recipes; one would have made way too much bread for one person, one didn't include instructions for feeding the starter.... non the less I'm really happy with the results and now I don't need to worry about keeping yeast on hand.
  22. Separation from family at a time like this is the hardest part for many of us, I know I miss my family very much but as long as we do what's needed now this should only be temporary. Kudos to you and any of your staff for helping to maintain the vehicles of the first responders, without them we would be in a lot more trouble than we already are.
  23. How many people are going to die because some people won't accept that this is not a game?
  24. I would think that the potential for damage could constitute an emergency. Is there someone there that you could call to asses the risk?
  25. Good for you, I doubt your petition will ever amount to much but wrong or right you are fighting for what you want. I have nothing against fishing, in fact I love to go fishing! My issue is you might follow the rules of social distancing at the ramp but you can bet there will be others that won't. It sounds like you are going to do whatever you want regardless of the consequence. I truly hope and pray that neither you or any of your family or friends pay the ultimate price for your actions. Me, well I am going to continue to be socially responsible and do my best to insure that I am not part of the problem.
