  1. Yup, good game last night. The Leafs played hard. Good hockey. I'll be watching a lot more leaf games if they play like that.

You bet!!! As long as they continue to play hard and try their best I have no issues with them losing for a while. ;)

But come 2018 and beyond they better start out scoring the opposition.

  2.

LOLOL…was trying to get my other sled stuck the other year…thank god I have not managed that yet…at 750lbs dry weight would need a helicopter to get it out…probably a Chinook!

HAHAHA!!! That's like my Yamaha. 700#'s dry!!!

Been in deep slush a couple of times. It's nice to have 120 HP because you can instantly get on top of that stuff. :good::good:

  3. I think this has been a good game so far..This Leaf squad sure plays differently then last year..Lots of communication too.Everyone is talking..Haven't seen that on the bench for a couple years. If we could get first shot Bernier to stop it we would be happy!

Coaches challenge..Awesome Call Ref.. Now how is that not a penalty?

If it had been caught when it happened it may have been called a penalty, but no penalties will be called after the fact with the coaches challenge.

  4. Hmmm... it takes 5 QUALITY aircraft Avex blind rivets (and probably 10 of the crap you get at CTC) to equal the strength of 3 solids, I'll give that some thought. Fine to use when you can't get at the other side to form the shop head, but on a tinny there's no excuse to do it half ass.

Most of my boats rivets are near impossible to get to without removing most of the interior. ;)

The 3/16" closed end stainless rivets I'm using require a special rivet gun to install.

I use my neighbours rivet gun as they use one for installing rivets in car window regulators.

    Similar to one of these.

The rivets are rated 967#s shear and 989#'s tensile strength.

  5. 5200 and other sealers will usually work, but it's messy and not a permanent fix.

I think it's better to identify any leaking or loose rivets, drill them out, and replace with aluminum blind end pop rivets with just a dab of 5200. Have any cracks welded.

Especially with a small 12' with no floors and things .... it will be easy.

I replace popped rivets on my boat with stainless closed end blind rivets.

They are stronger than the originals. I use either 5200 or sikaflex for sealing.

  6. I really love Hobie's but how easy are they to hike in or portage over to a lake a few KM away? I would imagine most sit on top kayaks to be in the same boat, please correct me if I'm wrong?

I was looking into Yak's a few years back & was heavily into this model

I eventually fell into a deal I couldn't pass up on a inflatable pontoon but am still really thinking about getting a Yak for shear fun

They really aren't portage friendly. At least the SOT kayaks.

If the trail is decent it's not much of an issue as you can get carts to help with the transport.

  7. Took the day off work today. :D

Got the dock pulled for the winter today.

I also started disassembling the shabby shack and cleaned up the site. Moved all of the lumber needed inside to it's location and other lumber is stored under the cabin. Moved all of the skids out of the way as well. I even managed 2 hours of fishing. Poked over a dozen poikes in that time. A couple of good ones in the 15# range as well as a couple of monsters lost. I know at least one was in the 20+ range.

  8. We have had them in town up here too.

They have never had to tranq or shoot one that I know of.

They have shut down parks they were frequenting though.

There have been bears shot in town as they don't want to risk tranqing them and having them injure someone before the drugs take effect.

We had a lynx run over by a car downtown one winter and early one winter morning I saw a wolverine waling up my street!!! :D

  9. this is the ultimate....i know a guy who trolled for salmon on lake o with his

I have a friend in Alaska that fishes salmon and halibut year round out of a Hobie Mirage kayak.

Last year he managed to catch a king salmon out of his yak in every month of the year. :D

  10. The best kind of crawl space is one you don't need to crawl around in! Nice work man, I'm thoroughly impressed with how much you've done on your own in such a short period of time. Are you going to be working on the interior through the winter?

May do some work but it's pretty dang cold here in the winter. ;)

Probably do some during any warm spells if we get any. :whistling:

  11. Made it out to the cabin today.

The weather was less than stellar but at least the winds weren't too bad.

Also got some of the holes in the crawlspace closed up and some tarps up to help keep the snow out.
