  5. LOL well there were way too many pictures to post them all so I thought my bowfin would be a good one to forget about yeah, sorry I didn't get the big one to the boat..it was the wind and the weeds and the boat control and trying to reel in and the sun was in my eyes and.. ok..I guess I forgot to set the hook good luck tomorrow
  6. nice photos and good report
  7. oh yeah a scored a hat off him too
  8. 5am seems early to me more like late night then, morning to me but I got up and ready to go fishing with Misfish we hit a river that has lots of undercut banks and hoped to catch a couple of Dawgs/ Hogs/Pigs/Sows...large mouth that is Misfish said we would use his baits...a bit of field testing I thought cool get to use free baits....well you would think that would be a good thing...they sure caught a lot of fish and could use one bait for many fish, stood up well, but now I have to put in a big order to buy a bunch cause the work so well..... for a real windy day and tons of weeds making boat control a lot of work, I think we did great here are some of the fish we caught to add to the mix we got some bowfins and pike too..what the heck is a pike doing under a bank great day Thanks Misfish I had a blast
  9. enjoy the day.. happy birthday
  10. you might have a bad cell in one of the batteries or as Misfish said
  11. good answer. I don't need to add to it
  12. I stay at Bay Wolf and love it there I go to all the back lake where they have boats and do very well they do have boats at pike and walleye and trout and speck lakes.....I only do the walleye lakes..but they have great maps for all their guests to find their way around to the lakes
  13. yeah a couple of years ago I would have been upset to see a post about this little spot, knowing how quickly the internet can spread the word of a hot spot..now who cares it's dead or close to it, I don't think the fishing there will ever recover from the fishing pressure it sees now
  14. I don't fish for trout when I am there so I can't help..........
  15. take some real worms and break off about an inch to inch and a half and put it that little piece on a jig or hook it smells right and is about the right size of the mayflies..don't tell anyone it's a secret
  16. you may want to read this post about where you are going
  17. it's not a nice little place to go any more in the past I did very well the last trip there last year there were way to many boats on the water for the size of it I was there on Saturday opening day and there were 35 trucks parked and boats everywhere.... and one boat was zipping around full blast making a mess of everything and yelling at anyone that was in their way of going full blast..oh yeah..that's how I spell fun........not.... no one was catching anything..well some rock bass, anyone I talked to said 1 or 2 very small bass to show for it.. I will be crossing it off my list of out of the way fishing holes...
  18. I like a 6/6.5 med heavy for pitching jigs and for good accuracy around reeds and thick cover but for smallmouth or open water I like 7ft fibreglass rod
  19. here are some more shots of it some shots just look better then others
  20. great photos thanks for sharing
  21. well say hello to my wife, she will be there too
  22. the old A/C is running full tilt here at work
  23. now with depth for walleye I fish for them as shallow as I can even thou most may be deep, they are not active if you can find them shallow they are there to eat most times so you can catch them easier..or they are hiding in thick weeds and a jig dropped on their nose will get them to bite
  24. if you don't know where the walleye are the best method is to troll to find them...I like mepps spinners tipped with a minnow or worm, a worm harness works well too..if you think the fish should be active crank baits can cover a lot of water fast.. once I catch a fish or 2. I stop on the spot I caught them and still fish with a jig or crank bait or live bait if I think the fish are inactive
  25. it's been an interesting year for you... enjoy the day............... and many more
