  1. my card started to fall apart, seems my wallet was too much for it and there was a round indent in it, but that's another story. anyway, I sent for another card and for a couple bucks more they send two, so now I have 3 cards I should be good for a while
  2. welcome aboard we look forward to your reports
  3. did you have a full size fix mount antenna or just the rubber ducky antenna any radio is only as good as it's antenna
  4. unless size is a problem, I would go with a 8' fiberglass , it would probably have about 6db gain
  5. it depends on what/where you want to use it if you are only going to use it in one boat, then a fix mount is the way to go but if you want to use it in other boats or at home or on the ice, a portable is the way to go, you can buy a portable with just as many features as a fixed mount, you can buy a amplifier to get top watts if needed and most important of all is the antenna. It is really what makes or breaks a radio the better the antenna the better the radio will work and there is an adapter so your handheld hooks up to a fixed mount antenna
  6. good report some great pictures oh and I love your boat
  7. wow that really is a good price I have a video out rca jack on the Marcum VS825C, I bought a little DVR that records to memory cards a small 12 volt inverter and a small 12 volt battery, the kind they use for portable fish finders and it works not too bad, the only problem is I can't check to see if it is recording properly .I would need another monitor for that RJ-1100PVR
  8. it's a Marcum VS825C
  9. I have no idea who sings it but it seemed to fit the video
  10. I am not sure how far you could see on the kawarthas, because most of it isn't too deep I would think you would have some visibility, when I get a change I will try over there with the camera
  11. it's hard to tell how big things are without something to compare it to. but the anchor was 25 or more feet away from the camera, so I had a pretty good field of vision
  12. the only real reason for a battery box is to stop it from moving, if they move against something the vibration can wear a hole in the battery and if there is enough room they can tip or the terminals can touch something so get a strap and fasten it to the floor and you are good to go
  13. mother nature is one scary lady glad your ok
  14. these ones were 15 ft but an hour later I stopped over 35 ft of water cause I saw fish on the finder and thought they might be crappie but put the camera down and another big school of perch
  15. it was real windy but I went for a run and drove over a big school of fish and wondered, hmmmm. what could they be stopped the boat dropped the anchor and the camera....ahhhh perch and lots of them I am getting better at recording them, I think you will like this one a few minutes from the 3 hours of recordings how the heck am I going to find the time to fish with all this fun happening around me hope you liked it
  16. lets just say he flipped a coin heads or tails
  17. congrats old man
  18. I always thought they were trying to hump the lures
  19. yesh it is truly amasing what you can see with the camera now that I almost have the recording figured out, I hope to have many more videos and the MAV is very cool and some day I will likely have one of them
  20. it's a Marcum VS825C and it is hard to fish while playing with it but it sure is fun to see fish on the finder lower the camera and tell they are sunfish I can't believe how many sunfish and carp are in cooks bay
  21. I have been trying to record underwater video trial and error well more error then trial I have a recorder and it is a problem getting everything to work together on this video you can see some fish, but I need to record in a higher quality, converting the file also seems to lower the quality I can't tell what the recorder is doing so if I push the wrong button it doesn't record today I missed most of the fish I could add a monitor but it's one more thing I would need on my boat and I am running out of room, I see the camera on it's monitor and it's picture is much better then what I get on the recorder, I will pkay some more it was pretty windy so I was moving along at a pretty good clip and catching some weeds on the camera... I was in 18 to 24 ft of water.. not very good but I am working on it..oh the end video is just so you can watch something till the song ends it's hard to fish when you are playing with a camera here is just some more perch you can see the schools of them coming through
