  1. oh yeah, it's true New recreational policy calls for O.F.A.H. membership when hunting in Simcoe County Forest The County of Simcoe considers hunting to be a heritage activity within it's County forests and to help ensure it continues along with all other recreational uses, County Council has introduced a new recreational use policy. Among other conditions, the policy calls for anyone hunting in Simcoe County Forests to be a member of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Simcoe County and its nearly 31,000 acres of forest properties welcomes outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. With 150 forest tracks stretching across 16 municipalities, Simcoe County Forests provide significant outdoor getaways north of Toronto. Since 1922 . yeah paying for a membership is going to make hunting simcoe county safer.......can you say money grab
  2. to me hockey is the toronto maple leafs my hockey team isn't there anymore, so I quit watching/following hockey most teams are owned by rich children who want the glory of a team and will pay big buck to make a winning team the leafs are owned by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and they are there to make money, bottom line nothing else matters to them they sell out the seats each year, they know they don't need a winning team to make the big profits so yeah we need to get new owners...that will only happen when the start to lose money or we need to boycott the leafs totally, the games, the tv, everything email companies that buy season tickets and tell them you will boycott their produces if they buy the seats and what not and like that will ever happen so, hockey is not in my vocabulary anymore...a tear runs down my cheek............

  5. I have mixed feelings about this one maybe the gov. can set out a legal distance to stay away from duck hunters.. and I would think first one on site gets to use the area.. bottom line, man with gun wins argument
  6. interesting read I usually totally agree with Marc taking bass off beds can't be a good thing however.... it is legal in New York, therefor people have every right to do it ethics and morals have nothing to do with it, that's a personal thing and everyone have their own set the only true guideline is the law, fish within it...bottom line if a reg. is unethical fight to change the regs. you can and should also use or own ethics and morals if they fall within the law to guide your fishing but at the same time not to judge or harass people who have a different set of ethics and morals that fall within the law it never hurts to discuss your ethics and morals, to explain them but not to try to impose them.. and in the end you should try to get the regs/law changed, not harass people fishing within the law

  19. there are tons of studies that suggest that gbfisher is right and there is talk of stopping bass turneys in the fall when bass are real deep here is a cut and paste from one study Depth of Capture When fish are caught and retrieved quickly from deep water, injury may result from depressurization. Depressurization can result in over-inflation of the gas bladder, inability to submerge when released, gas embolisms, internal and/or external haemorrhaging and death. Freshwater fish have one of two basic types of swim bladders. Fish, such as carp, esocids, trout and salmon have a duct which connects the swim bladder to the alimentary canal. These fish can expel gas and make buoyancy adjustments more quickly than fish such as, bass, walleye, perch and most panfish which lack a connecting duct and rely on diffusion to deflate their swim bladder. Thus, while susceptibility to depressurization varies among fish species, it has the potential to be a significant source of mortality (Kerr, 2001). To release fish that suffer from depressurization a technique known as "fizzing" has been developed to artificially deflate swim bladders by puncturing the swim bladder with a sharp instrument. In a review of "fizzing", Kerr (2001) suggested that the practice should be discouraged, as significant damage can result from the procedure, and that fishing deep waters (5-6 m) should be restricted if fish are intended to be released. but if you want a good meal of walleye now is a good time to get them well not me I can't catch them
