I hear you cliff exactly Grimace 250 to repair it is silly when I can buy new for 329.99 I may end up with a new finder but the old base and battery and the broken tie down and the case that is wearing out , is just no worth me putting out that kind of money they are screwing me whether they know it or not... when they work they have a great product, but that seems to be as far as they go.......customer service and support for their product seems to be in the crapper I guess I should take it apart and try to fix it myself

it's right on OFC here for a few moments today I thought I had time traveled, but it turned out the one place I was at didn't change there clocks ahead, so I arrived at the next stop half an hour before I left that place .......

nice going I decided not to go on the weekend and now the whitefish are over till may......at lest I got the boat out of storage on the weekend

I called Lowrance today about the status of my HDS5..they have none in stock and expect to ship it back in about 2 weeks then I said, of course you don't have any BPS sold them all for 300 bucks, less then have of what everyone else paid for them....he back peddled a bit and gave me a song and dance.. oh well the fix is under warranty...guess I should be happy then I asked about getting my 67c ice machine fixed...250.00 bucks...250 that's more then half the price of a new one.....why would I want to pay that much.. and still end up with a used fishfinder...it doesn't make sense...... time to look at hummnbird for a portable finder..........

everything else is already there unless it's a HDS5M, if that the case then it's not a fish finder, but it is a monitor for other units but i really think it's the HDS5.........

no they take concentration and touching the spool with your thumb as needed the best way to start is make a good long cast then let out another 25 ft now use electrical tape and go around the spool twice then reel in the line that will help prevent backlashes while you are learning then practice..practice practice

a friend in Innsifil told me that the access at the 8th line is bad and watch out for big holes from the removed huts the access at the 4th and 3rd looks real bad and have a fair bit of ice jamming up 15 ft from shore I think I am done for this year

I have the hds5 and I love it I have never seen so much detail and the zoom...wow. it was just crazy when I was using it for ice fishing,but it got moisture in it and I am waiting to see if they really do just send me a new one I understand that they had a problem but they fix the problem the new units are fine if you are use to bigger units or have bad eye sight you might find 5 " small I have no problem but I have an extra lowarnce unit I am going to network so I will have one screen for the GPS and one for the finder

I was told that if no hunting signs are posted then no one not even the owner could hunt and even if you take the signs down you can not hunt the property for the rest of the year or season

I guess if you never fished before or didn't know about OFC then it might be a good thing

yeah me too if I ever see a deal like that for the 250 dc, I will be all over it I already have the SHIMANO CALAIS 200 DC
