  1. Good going Dave. Cannot help with alternate cooking method, I like the tradional way.
  2. Do we need to solder? Can we use an alternative method of joining the two in matrimony? How about drilling a hole and incorporate a washer...something like that
  3. Wall, now.. First you have ta make sure the can is tin, and not aluminum. Then it is a question of molecular physics. Go dig out the tome, I'll wait. Now, while your'e digging that out, Ya's gots ta make sure the connection, in this case the can, reaches a hot enough temperature for the molecules in the solder to meld with the molecules of the tin can. Ya might want to use a hotter heat source other than the soldering iron to get the can hot enough, due to the large interspacial surface area of said tin can. You will know the can is hot enough when it melts the solder, or a hole burns through it. Are you using rosen core sodder? Jetho Bodeen assisted me on this one.
  4. Yeah, the Northern folks don't make a big deal out of it the way they do in the GTA.
  5. Awfull strong resemblance to Bob Izumi.

  6. Beano, When you use a couple tablets, there'll BEANO gas! Available in most discount stores, including Walmart. PS, They work.
  7. That should be a successful fishing trip. Really looking forward to your report upon your return.
  8. One of my favorite foods, happen's to be Baked Beans. When mom was alive she would make this dish for me. Now I have to make my own, and would like to share with you a French Canadian staple. Baked_Beans.doc
  9. Nice dog! Ya did well. Here's a pic of this little feller Elly Mae just had to have..
  10. Hi Frank. Nice Walleye, about how big in lbs? I personally have been avoiding BOQ, because I am a meat fisherman. I've caught my share of hogs and like to bring home the catch, and as you probably know, the big 'uns don't taste as good as the little fellers.
  11. I don't "Get" the Jerry, Jerry one?
  12. Bowshep, I think Roy was talkin' bout joining the gang in the boards' chat room. I've never been, not sure how, you know us ol hillbillies, chat is somethin' granny does with ole Duke, when she ain't swattin his behind with the straw broom.
  13. Cliff and Carole, Watching your excellent vid of your little sweetheart was quite heartwarming. Isn't that an allegory (?) to life itself. Some of us, me included are constantly falling down, and have to pick ourselves up and as the song says, "Get back in the race again" (Red Rider). Your daughter is blessed to have such wonderfull caring and smart parents as youselves. I predict she will have a bright and successful future ahead of her.
  14. Deadbait is good for Pike, although it should be large, like a smelt (yeah, I know I keep chanting that like some sort of mantra). Roy has the right idea, although I prefer to hook a live minnow just under the "scruff" of the neck, right behind the head. If'n you you go too deep, you'll kill the little feller. This method allows for a better hooking percentage on those pesky fish that are hesitant, like ole mister Walleye. Orangeville reservoir, doesn't have marble eyes (Walleye), but Pike, and they don't hesitate, they rush right in and smash your bait.
  15. You guys are two funny --->
  16. I meant to say: "many may say, I'm a..." Those who have driven with me, do not feel that way. I do not take unnecessary risks, or chances.
  17. I would pose this question in the : GENERAL FORUM. This area is for people looking to HOOK UP with other anglers to go fishing. They may not see your inquiry. You would get an answer from the gang on the other forum. Hope this helps, Clampet
  18. Oh yeah. It isn't the vehicle it is the poor saps behind the wheel. A good driver will take care o' that little problem with a regular pick-up truck (albeit with tire chains). I knew a buddy could drive most places on a drift covered slush laden lake (Nipissing) and we would drive past stuck 4x4's. You just had to hang on cause, he had to keep his speed up, and then slow down fer the big drifts and odd ice upheaval. It was the expereince he had. I used to blast past all manner of 4x4 vehicles going North on Hwy 400 in a snow covered lane, with a Ford Taurus (of all things), while these city people cautiously drove their new luxury Sport Utes, on the one dry plowed lane. The outer snow covered lane was wide open. I passed them all, one guy tried to keep up and pass me, and after about 1/2 hour of watching him in my rear view , I let him pass, I was finally tired of the childish game, but I proved my point. . I know, many say I am a dangerous driver, but the truth is I have never, I mean never had an accident, only a couple of close calls where I avoided the stupidity of another drivers' mistakes. I have been driving 30+ years. And that is the truth.
  19. Great report. I suppose I will have ta give it a try in Pefferlaw. Was it a long trip out to the ice shanty?
  20. Avid angler and hunter, with good connections in the industry. Pleasant and easygoing, Dave is highly ethical when it comes to our Lakes and related resources.

  21. Thanks fer the report Chromer. Comfortable digs, eh.
