  1. Went out again tonight from 11:30 until 1:30 am. Tired boy am I. Went 4 for 8 tonight but with nothing huge. They were on though again tonight. I was fishing off docks.
  2. LOL! That is old school. He want a spinning reel though. and, I have said it before and I will say it again Friends don't let friends buy ugly stiks!
  3. I was at BPS and I was very very impressed with the new rapala spinning rod. It was on for 49.99. You can get a cardinal 502 at ctc for 47.99 this week I believe. That would keep your total at or near to $100. At BPS there is another BPS rod with pflueger reel for 69.99. It wasn't bad and you can choose your rod legth and action
  4. Well, that is what grandfathers do.
  5. Man, it has been windy in Ontario for the past 4 years. I think it is a global phenomenon because when I used to wakeboard in the middle east I could do it whenever I wanted but the last 2 years I was there it always blew up after 9 am. Same here too. I hate too much wind.
  6. big cats for sure. Always carp around and you might get an eye
  7. Hmm. tough one. In the rules it says fishing stuff from dollarama unless you don't have one in town. Reason being is taht there are more dollaramas than anything else and I want everyone to have essentially the same stuff. I went to another dollar store yesterday and they had line, sinkers and smaller hooks. Dollarama unless ther is not one around you.
  8. We got off the water just after midday and we were home by 1pm. He left for the plane home to Tenerife at 4pm. Alas, no more bronzebacks for that boy.
  9. I am willing to bet I could catch a fish here on that.
  10. Nice size as well. Good job. That looks tasy!
  11. today I got 10 total and fished between 7 and 14 feet.
  12. Lake St.Clair? Nice fish!
  13. Went out seaching for some smallies this morning with my Spanish foreign exchange student. We didn't get out on the water until 9am but managed a fish right away. Small but hopefully a sign of things to come. My student was having difficulty casting the smaller crankbaits so I decided to let him use a 1/2 ounce Lucky craft shallow crankbait ($20, I was actually thinking is this a good idea?). Anyway he did manage to cast it a bit further and eventually hooked into a nice fish. As he is fighting the fish (in his own style) all I am thinking is please let the 8 pound mono hold! I net the fish and indeed it was a good fish. I weighed 4.1 pounds. He was well happy. We continued to fish an managed a bunch of clone smallies. All about the same size and he closed out the day with the final fish, a nice 2 pounder. Although it was a bit wet and windy this morning it was still loads of fun as we managed about 10 smallmouth and a bunch of perch. The kid still has a smile on his face. First fish of the day Another small one clone fish and yet another clone The exchange student's 4.10 pounder
  14. I am pretty stuck on 4 things although there are many others. Gulp alive leech 3" Gulp alive leech 5" Gulp alive minnow 3" Strike zone slammers
  15. I cast out but not huge casts. I bring it about a foot at a time, stop, shake the line a bit, reel another foot and so on. When you feel a bite, reel down and set the hook hard.
  16. There is no doubt about paying the tax but you just have to wait. It doesn't happen immediately.
  17. grubs (twister tails) is one of the all time most successful smallie lures ever. Tube jig is a must but I rely on drop shotting more these days.
  18. Classic. S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT! There's a piper down! Head, pants, now!
  19. Don't worry. They are all made in China. Everything is on the up and up.
  20. Come on! Do you think?
  21. I am from the same town as Bill. I have never met him but we have PM'd a few times. It is great living in the midst of stardom.
  22. You will be fine. Jettas are strong. I used to have one. It was a 1998 similar to this one being used as a delivery truck. Thay have a good payload (as seen in the pic). Pic taken in at Angus Home Hardware.
  23. Here they are. I even bought the leaders. Cut 3 of them apart to used the snaps and swivels seperately. The reel cost $2 and I feel like I got ripped off. Could it be any rougher. It says it has 20m of 7pound test. lol. that is like 65 feet of line. The rod is crappy too but much better than the reel. I have a jerk bait, topwater, small shallow crank, deeper crank and a bunch of jigs. I will catch fish!
  24. Yeah, his name is Tom and I spoke to him last week on the phone. He told me he was doing his best to allow Canadians to be able to buy his goods (before Monday you could not). I told him to let me know when Canadians could buy and as soon as he configurated his software he wrote me back. I ordered my lures last night and he sent me an email today letting me know that he shipped them this morning first thing. Great service thus far.
