  1. Yeah I saw those. They also have these crawfish bait too. By the way I caught a 2 pound smallie on one of those mako pop r lures. It didn't even fall apart. lolo
  2. Ok I don't want to be consedered a liar and by no means am I. I can see where my other thread is heading with the guess the weight of my friend's LM. So I started this one to somehow show that I am not BSing. I know the weight of this fish. take a guess. This just lets us understand that we are not that good at guessing. I do realize that pic size, angle of camera, distance from camera can all make guessing difficult but give this a try.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. If i push the fish in quickly more will come out. lol
  4. I will tell you the weight after I get the pic with his other fish beside it. I will give you a hint. He won the tournament on 2 fish. The second place team caught 5 fish and weighed in 12 pounds 13 ounces. He lives in Penetang/Midland area. As suspected by Mikeh and Timmeh this fish is not Canadian
  5. The guy is a big strong dude. He is a pro bass fisherman and not a liar. I know how big this fish is, it is registered. It was in a tournament (club tounament). There is another pic where he is holding this fish beside a 4.5 pound fish. I will try and get it from him.
  6. Click on the pic itself to make it bigger. The bass was 24" and fat. Here is a pic of 7 pounder
  7. lol are you kidding? This is a big fish. here is another pic that might help. just for reference the pic of the smallmouth in my avatar is 4 pounds.
  8. I have heard of this being done and looked into it. It adds a fair bit of weight to the boat and you can get do it yourself kits at Canadian tire for about $170 (I think)
  9. This is a pic of my friend who caught this bass last week. He had it officially weighed and I know the weight. Take a guess. There will be a prize (or maybe not) By the way the fish was released. Just for reference the guy holding it is about 6'2 and about 240 pounds
  10. I have been drop shotting these 2" gulp fish fry for the past month and they are insane for pan fish and perch. I rig 2 hooks about 10" apart and the bottom hook is about 18" from my 1/4 oz weight. Fish love them. I have caught sunfish, rock bass, perch, and smallmouth bass on them. I rig up the kids rods with them and I no longer need to use live bait!! I am serious. I use the pearl white colour and size 2 red octopus hooks. I caught a 17" smallmouth from the shore yeaterday on this rig. The other day while fishing from a dock I caught 17 fish in 19 casts (nothing huge but perfect for the kids). just want people who have a hard time getting live bait to try this option. Each little bait will catch about 7 or 8 fish before it becomes totally destroyed. Here is a pic of 3 different colours. give them a try. I know this sounds like a commercial but I am really impressed with this product.
  11. That motor looks to be almost a perfect fit for that boat. 4 stroke is a nice option as well. Vey nice. I teach Chris' son at school. Look for this kid to make it to the nhl as well. Big kid. Very coordinated and strong. Dad has a good head on his shoulders and the kid does well in school.
  12. It is one of the originals. There must be something in the ingredients because a Pro Bass buddy of mine won't use anything but. He swears he gets way more hits.
  13. Walleye on the Montreal river?
  14. I don't eat the rubber part (just chew on it a bit) LOL
  15. I was trying to get my dad into soft swimbaits and he bought a couple of packs of storm 4" swimbaits. My mom used one and caught a walleye on her first cast. They proceeded to catch over 25 walleye in 4 hours fishing over 2 days and they fished at midday both days!!! Go figure. Personally you can't go wrong with an original senko. Gulp alive is insane as well. I have good luck with bass magnet tubes although I have never caught anything on their hollow-belly swimbaits (which is a bit dissapointing). I also use a 6" BPS stick bait (senko style) in pumpkinseed with red flake that is awesome. A bit heavier and easy to cast greater distance. I usually drop shot Gulp Alive stuff but would to give Mark Kulik's bait a try as well.
  16. It stinks but it kind of tastes good. Now I know that sounds weird and I do not go around eating/drinking the stuff but on several occasions I have put my hands in my mouth after touching the gulp alive bait and it tastes nothing like what it smells. It has a really sweet taste. I recently find that I have been putting my hands in my mouth more and more after handling the gulp alive bait (but lets keep that on the downlow) PS That stuff really works well especially drop shotting for bass. Wow! Too bad my whole bag and jacket stink of the juice though.
  17. power pro is probably the most popular braid. I have had good experience with it in green. I don't recommend the red. Maybe I just had a bad batch.
  18. I used to go up there 20 years ago. We stayed at mountainview resort (cottages). Great smallmouth right in front of the cottage. Great location on lake manitou. Recommended http://www.mountainviewresort.ca/

I went on the MNR website just to double check Under Gear Restrictions this is what is written A fishing line must not have more than four hooks attached. A hook includes a single-pointed or multiple-pointed hook on a common shaft but does not include a snagger or spring gaff. The number of hooks includes any single-pointed or multiple-pointed hooks that are part of a lure. I think I will keep it at 4 and cut the other 2 off just to be safe

How many hooks are we allowed on one line up here?
  21. The way I read it the drowning man was obviously trying to commit suicide. You don't jump from 114 ft unless you are 17 years old and there are at least 4 girls present, or you are 17 years old, very drunk with 4 of your best friends present. He will probably not be as greatful as he should be.
  22. I have been having more success drop shotting lately than I have with the tubes. Maybe I need to give the tubes more water time. When you get success with the drop shot it is hard to tie anything else on the line.
  23. He ordered one and is getting it next week in Indiana
  24. Now you can understand why he asked us for our fishing licences at the ride stop. He was just stalling for time because two dudes driving a vehicle like this with a 12 ft 1960s tinner in the bed of the truck must be drunk. lol enjoy the pics driver's side passenger's side back boat
  25. Yeah some nice mods. lol HEre is the deal. I got the boat for free. I got the bow mount motor for free The wood for the platform I got for free The fishfinder: free 2 batteries: free I have 2 motor (none of which run very well). I have a 4hp mercury and 20 hp chrysler. both, you guessed it, free. I paid $10 for the rod holders. I paid $15 for the screws, bolts etc I paid $6 for a new piece of wood for the transom and also made a paddle out of it I bought a cannon downrigger and ball for $5 at a garage sale. I spend a couple of hours tapping all the rivets with a hammer on both sides at the same time to stop the leaks (it still leaks a bit but not too bad) LOL The pickup and boat are a perfect match. I will plost pics of the pickup later today
