I have looked on the MNR site and there is nothing about a die off or spraying. That small lake is very pressured in the winter months. I have fished it many many times. Full of snot rockets and some very nice bass. Fun place to fish.

This morning was a blast. Lost count on how many hit and lands. Fun forsure. Then it got hot and that was it for me. Tied this little gem this morning. Was the ticket for all the fish this morning.

I have really gone away from quality of fish the past couple of years. I am more interested in having fun with my ties and seeing how they work. Always fun and gratifying when it comes together. I was up way to early to head out,so finished up a egg pattern order,then headed down to the lake for a wander and fly fish. Lots of small fish were hitting the surface all along the shore line. Put on my new foam bug and gave it a go. MAN,they eat that up like nothing. I even had to move on from a gill spot,as they were just gulping them down. I have no idea how they get that fly down so deep for such a small fish.

Watch though. They like to high charge. It,s a money people place.

I tied up some free give aways and thought, what about something for the kids. So I am tying up a couple dozen pin bugs they can put in their hats. I tied them no different then I would on a hook.

Wanted KABOBS today,so off to look for supplies. NO-FRILLS had family pack chops on sale. I can make them do I say. Debone the chops,season and on the stick with shrooms. Side salad and sliced baked taters,home made tzatziki sauce and well,burping up garlic now,but dang good eats.

Got a surprise message. Heading to Great Bear Lake. Been told they have Grayling. Any chance you could tie up some last minute bead head flys ? He sent me a post from the Outfitter on what was a common tie for up there. I came up with some variant beaded Nats and Hares ears which were on the list,but he was happy with the out come and I sent them off to him this morning. Looking forward to pics when he returns. I,ll be on the local streams Friday, fishing for browns.

Had a meeting this afternoon after work with the organizer and the manager of Cabelas. I had thought this would be in the club room were there would be like, 20-30 or so people. Well to my surprise,this will be held out on the open floor in the fishing section. Ya,nothing like having every walker by watching. Best have my game face on for this now. OH ME NERVES .

As a added bonus this morning, posting a top water pan fish fly,I got an order for 20 to be sent off to Ottawa.

Done a couple now and it,s getting there. This will hunt I am sure . Eyes are secured with crazy glue,then done along the outer rim to secure,then a light coat of Sally hard as nails. I Palmer the marabou instead of removing the fibers and latching them. This will stand up much better for longer periods of catching IMO.
