Was invited by RyanMc, to help set up for this fall bear hunt, and in return for helping,I was shown a back lake bass spot. Hunting and fishing, cant beat that.
What a nice peice of land this was. Drive for miles, many roads going all over in many directions. GPS is a must here.
We decided to play first, then set up the bear area later.
At our parking spot,I came across a turtle hatch. It couldnt of been more then a few days old.
Then we seen a pile of bear skat. Lots of fur in it. Looked like deer hair.
Got an hour of fishing in. We just fished from shore. Will bring the tube and canoe next time.
Bass were hungry . Senkos and slammers.
Play time was over. Time to pick a spot to set up the bait. Looking for a high ridge close to a swamp was the plan. That way,the bear could be dragged down hill with ease. LOL
Lots of moose tracks and this one was big.Get all the gear up the hill and get started trimming a shooting lane. Saw down a tree to put some logs around the barrel. Set up the bait barrel, load it up and get it ready for action.
Took a short video. I guess the climbing up the hill didnt allow the camera to focus properly.
It was one of those days. Big fish eight off the bat and nothing else to show, but what a great fish. This fish was fat. 15+ easy.
Ride out was nice.
Get there and the graph is loaded.
10 minutes in and Terrys rod pops, and dives down. It was one of those what the hell,Im getting spooled. Then he got the fish under control sorta, before another bolt to the bottom.
Getting closer
Get it in the net and pop out comes the lure. Whew.
Nice fish buddy. Pic does not do this fish justice..
If your walking tribs,it a whole dif Shane. Im sure you can relate. If I was duck hunting,it wouldnt matter. Big boot waders neo,s would be my choice. But if your bush wacking tribs, sock waders and boots, are the way to go,. Davey,,,,,,,Keep up will ya,LOL
Do yourself well and buy a sock wader and buy the boots. I have been down this way many years ago,and can see the great difference., Waders/boots attached TROUBLE. I cant believe they still sell them.. You will not regret getting a pair of sock waders and boats.
You dont have to blow the bank for a combo pair. Check on line.
Sunday will be Collingwood bound,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
THE KING LIVES ON
Just look at the fans in the seats. It,s the 70,s. Look at Collingwood for this one time event for the last years. Every year gets bigger and bigger. He lives still today. LONG LIVE THE KING WORD
Here,s whats going to get interesting here in Barrie. Both stores (north and south) have gone gungho with their fishing and hunting section. Way over priced IMO. When Cabelas gets up and going,I wonder what they will do as far as pricing. Will they match,or just ignore the competition, and stay pat on their prices?
Well said Craig.
Mark was one of the first guys I met doing the CFT Pro/Am. Always willing to give advice.
I can say this, his head never got to big for his shoulders. Thats the kinda guy he is.
Frankie, all Im getting from behind me is this voice, where is that? That looks like a nice place to go. We got no kids to take.LOL
Thanks, you got my better half motivated.
Great post,great trip.
Now to talk my way in to making plans for next year. shouldnt be hard to do.
