Adapt, improvise, overcome. I figured a pattern yesterday. Did ok.
If it,s non fishable,I may just take a walk for some birds. Theres always something to do in the outdoors.
When you have a local tackle store that will treat you like a person, and not a cash cow,you grow fast respect for them. This is the case with the new store here in Barrie. I have bought a lot of stuff since he open. Sometimes the price was a little high, but you pay for convenience.Earlly morning starts, and need something right away That, I have no issue with..Like I have always said in the past, customer service is number one in my books, and I will support this small independent store all the way,as long as Im treated like a person.
I have been looking at the Eskimo hub huts, and really liked them so,,,,,,,,
Tom came through for me at the Bait Bucket store today. I went with the two man Eskimo.(I can manage carrying 18 pounds. LOL) He phoned his distributor and my cost was below the retail price anywhere else . Just waiting to hear back about the fin3. He has always given me good deals since he open. It,s the kinda place you can go,have a coffee and filtered try again please chat. Thats a good atmospher.
What I see he,s doing right with his store,he,s catering to the area.
. If you want something, and he can get it,he will.
I dont see the big box store hurting this small store. He cares about his customers.
Thanks again Tom.
Brian
Ya I seen that Dominion bought in.
Theres only Grimm on the one I found. So it,s much earlier then when they joined up. I am going to ask the owner of the property we are hunting,if I can dig deeper and find out the past there.
Thanks brudder.
Ok I see it now. So much to read up on there. But what I found,It,s in french.
No matter,it,s a cool find.
Shane, all the ones I found, were good 2/3rds up,the rest were ,rotten out. I,ll be back up next friday. I,ll take some more shots.
Did some research, and now I,m going to start digging deeper for the spouts.
All I could find on the Grimms
Odie & Una Grimm, last owners of the Grimm Manufacturing Company in Montreal. This is where the Grimm name for the sap shanty came from.
If anyone can find the history,I would love to read it.
Steve, did ya get up to my area for some perch? Lot to be had this year.
Once the hard water gets here,it will be the same. I caught one,get over here.LOL
I meant when a picture would of been taken back then.LOL
Here are the large pans.
The areas I walked, I found those old buckets they hung on the trees,so I dont think it,s a shine maker.
This is also the second Javex bottle I have found. The first one had the cap and liquid in it. This one was half burried, thought it was an old beer bottle til I pulled it out.
Cool findings.
I see a tired old mans face. Trapped in a tree.
Two droopy eyes, long nose and a frown.
Thats ok though. You should of seen a pic I posted long ago. An up rooted tree. I seen salmon and other fish in the root cluster.LOL
During my walk the last couple days,I came across something that I knew would interested the Maple boilers.
Back in the bush I came across this,,,,,,,,,
Took the shots in B&W . Just the way it would have been back then.
Away for a few days and I found my cameras took my time away from the deer hunt. Im not complaining. Thought they turned out nice.
This turned out to be my favorite
Frozen minnows.LOL
It,s that time of the deer harvest season. All though many have been out with their bows already. Myself this year,I havent had that chance.
All packed and ready for the road come the morning.
All those heading out, shoot straight and shoot safe and wear yer orange..
I,ll be hunting with my pop for the next few days.Like I tell many,it,s not the harvest, but the time spent with familyand, friends. The harvest,is the bonus shared by all..
Hope I wont be eating "tag soup" this year.
