Well we got some ice on whitie grounds and all my lines have at least one of my creations as a drop . Been playing around with some different things. Mostly blood and grub style. We set up in 23 fow with a solid 5-8 inches of ice. I had two hits this morning ( only two fish that came in ) and both were on my ties. The first one bucked off at the hole . Caught the ice on the tip of the hook. Second one found his way out of the hole by my bear grip. These fish came off the bottom and smashed the fly's. No checking it out,just up and smash . I was so jacked. Of course,me fishing partner for the morning was like,hey,I need some of those baits. LOL. As always, I shared . Christen the new hub as well.LOL Finally a feed of fresh whitefish and fries tonight. Me fav.

Got to finally wear my suit this morning. OMG that thing is so warm. Over warm IMO. I might have to take the inner jacket out. I did find it bulky as well. The bib well,sure glad it has that elastic side band. LOL Was on some sketchy ice this morning. Very uncomfortable, but fished a few hours any ways. Marked 2 solo whities that did not want to come home with me.

Will pick my days Doug for it. I have set up in winds. First put in anchor,then attach bungee cord to anchor then to hub. Proceed with set up. This would not be my first or second hub. 1st was a 2 man,2nd, a 4 man . Ya it can be a bit of a P3TA, but like I said, pick my days. I even anchor my flip the same way.

Thinking of going back to a 2 man hub. Weight 20lbs . I fish alone, so a hub is just well and fine. I can set it up in minutes. Wind or no wind. I already have a 6ft bogan ( that slides slick as butter on toast ),2 milk crates,and auger that just sit nice in it. Getting ready to spend.LOL One thing I found was do not get caught up on the high end stuff. I buy 3-4 bobbins for like 5-7 bucks. The one I really like the best,I can not find anymore. There are many DIY tips on you tube. One thing for sure, have one set of scissors dedicated to snipping close to your ties. Thread and trimming only . Use cheap dollar store ones for cutting feathers and wires and what not. In the last year, I think I have come along way from when I started . I even came across a box of stuff I made a couple of years ago . I looked at them and said ,these things are brutal. LOL I did not mention that those stones are run under a float by these guys. Just like a roe bag . Have fun tying PK. B

Seems my son has a few buddy's that want some . Since there is no ice on my grounds,stay home and tie . These guys want ugly,not store bought purty. I said,you asked the right guy.LOL All are weighted with 15 wraps of .025 lead free wire. Biots are natural color from a goose shot by a buddy. #6 3x long shank Mustad. Wire is from the dollar store. Dubbing is variety of Phoenix peacock , Wabbit hares ear and berry fish dope in black 2 are peacock hearl . Casing is from the same wing as the goose biot. I have another 30 to make. Ran out of hooks. Waiting for my order from Cabelas.

Use to get on here in Barrie and drive all the way down to cooks bay. That was probly 20 years ago. Snow machine was a chevette. If I got stuck, just leave in drive, push,get it going and jump back in. LOL
