Instead of going fishing this morning,I went up for breakfast with the parents. Been since last summer since I seen them due to covid. Sure was nice to visit again. While I was there,I got to feed the locals. My pop can walk out there as I said before, and feed them right from his hand. Me well, I was just lucky to see them and watch as I dropped off some feed. They knew I was not me pop,as they were leary and spooked very easy. The slightest crack of my foot step and they backed off.
Pretty cool none the less.
This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group.
A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center
after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home.
When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to
ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalized.
He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but just return to
the vaccination center immediately and pick up his glasses.
It could have been me!
I guess you would not like once a year treat then Joe.
Few scoops of maple walnut ice cream, with chunks of crispy bacon, drizzled with yup,Canadian maple syrup. The first couple of spoon fulls give a bit of a shiver to the body, but dang,it,s so so good.
WHAT A RUSH
Sorry I missed your post Glen .
I love both, but the herring get only smoked for consumption . Fried, baked, pouch and smoke, the whities .
It,s all good.
Wait til next season, now that Oro has closed their streets to parking and lots starting this year .Dec 1st to April 1st You will see more that will try to park on the ice.
This is something I wanted try since a buddy posted on another board.
It is the stomach and esophagus from a white fish. I was told it is like calamari. So today I gave it a go.
I will say,I am a fan.
Cleaned and rinsed and soaked in salt water for a few hours. Dry with paper towel, trim and fry.
DANG, that is some good stuff.
Like the saying, what wont kill ya,will make a stronger.
I have read on some reports, the midge hatch has started . So tie a few up and see.
Marked all morning, both whities and herring. All were tight to the bottom. Was fishing a mud/muscle bed .PROBLEM, herring were quicker then the whities at snatching up the midge. Was tempted to retie without the drop, but I was having fun, and thought, one of those whities might beat them to it. Well that didn't happen, but another tie that has proven it works. Arsenal is growing. Grubs, worms, shrimp and now midge.
Edit to add
Stoked that my boy is kicking it with my ties as well.
I have yet to tow anything with mine, but if you want to save mileage bud,you can leave it here and that will help on the mileage a bit. I promise to wave wash it on the weekends.
