Next day update,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Had the rest, sliced thin and mopped with maple and layered by fresh mushrooms and cheese. On the bun again. That smokieness was just so good. Think I have a new fav .
No tomato this time Doug.
Thanks Doug
I just use Brodie XXX flour . All in one mix. Just add some of your fav brew for liquid . And I also just use the purple onions.

Took a gamble on a flank steak. Brisket price and size , is too much for this guy . Costco had some nice chunk pieces this morning. I thought what the hell, lets make a smoked one for dinner. What else was I going to do, while tying more fly orders ? I just rubbed with sea salt and fresh ground pepper and took from someone here about the mustard rub . Thanks, great added flavor . Smoked with 2 pans of apple and cooked at 180 in the old style little chief smoker for 5 hours. They say this meat cut is tough, well, I can tell you, this was not tough at all. I thinly sliced, both against and with the grain , and made a nice cheese and tomato sandwich on a toasted bun. I did not want any sauce,as I wanted to taste the smokiness goodness. Side order of fresh cut fries and rings and well, it was awesome. Have enough left for more sandwiches . Those ones might get a mop of sauce, just to make it messy . Even a topping of slaw for good measure.
Sure wish I could fine Black Cat gum. I also loved those black licorice cigars and pipes.
Thats going back a few years BTW,,,,,,LMAO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,OK, MANY YEARS AGO.
Awesome thanks.
I finally got one of the cheaper brands, but it works great so far. Got it on a online auction for half the price of retail. Have done sausages and fish and even smoke fish for a buddy that thought it looked professional being vacuum packed.
Got to get some of that newfie savory Doug to add to the mix. I have had 3 others add this to their mix and all have said, wow, what a nice flavor .
Apparently, the production has ended for this savory, so if you can get to a sobeys or food basics, you might luck out.
Like I mentioned before , all ingredients get mixed when the Tatars are warm. Allows all the flavors to merry together. I make the patties once the mix has cooled, the refrigerate till time to cook. Thats how me nan made them, and she was from the rock. 😆
Like I said, they work for these guys. They are super bushy, but he trims them to the conditions. I have been told the bushy the better. Reminds me back,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Oh never mind. LOL
I say buy them both . You choose which one you want to fish from ,and I will fish from the other . We can compare notes after a season on the water. LOL
I would go with the Crestliner myself.
I will add though, after your last post,I took a gander at some boats around here on the www . The prices are way out to lunch IMO. $14 G for a basic 16ft with a 30 hp and trailer. That is just nuts.
A boat like Bills, is like 45 G +. Nuts I say, NUTS
They wanted some fly's made up to go behind their dodgers and dipsys, so made them some. A couple of tandem hooks and singles. I hate these as they sting me a lot while wrapping and pulling back the feathers . HAHAHAHA
Hear big fish so far is 42 pounds. That is a bigg,n for sure.
Did up the sons order of balanced jigs as requested. He nailed fish all spring on them,so he asked for a bunch more. He twitches them under a float . Now to get 3 more orders out for his buddies.
I would get the 55lb thrust. Atleast you know you will have the power , if the wind does pick up . I have used both on my float boats. 55 was the cats meow. I only went with the 30 now due to weight, but that should not be an issue for your float boat.
