  1. LMAO This reminds me of my italian brother friends. One had his way, the other his........................................ BURP I added a few of the peppers and garlic to the soup from last night. PERFECTO BURP
  2. Sorry but, YUP I hunted fowl here on Little lake for many years. Set up decoys only to have a boat or two move in. They had just as much right as I did to be there. Walked out and explained it was fowl season. They moved on. I really dont miss this as mush as I thought I would.
  3. Try it bye, you might like it. LOL The fog was tic in spots, but not a bad drive this morning Albert. Did have to slow down for a family of racoons though. Looks like you have some work to do before you get your socks off to crush grapes.
  4. Dont let anyone tell you that you can buy baits. You made something with your own hands. I did the same with some wooden musky baits. Was just playing around. Some worked, some didnt. Trial and error. It,s a great self satisfaction moment.. I like.
  5. Well fishing was the start of the morning. Didnt count on much, due to the rain fall we had up here. Double double anyone? A few hours spent chucking and drifting, then it was time to get home and get some chores done. These chores I dont mind doing. Roasting peppers and some garlic, while working on my little gals turtle shell for halloween. I was asked to make a turtle shell by my grandaughter. Female nija turtle. Ok, I can do this. Work in progress So with that out of the way for now, it was time to get busy with the roasted peppers. Taking advice from the ones that know, I got busy. Looks like christmas. Then it happened,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Ran out of propane. (Im going to make a tray for the BBQ so I use charcoal the next time.) So covered in tin foil and made a run to the local CTC. Back with a full tank and the roasting was back on. Getting it done. Cooling off then pull the stems like I was told. Packed with garlic gloves, and vacumed with a straw, and ready for the freezer. How did I do byes?
  6. It all worked out in the end. Your getting settled in, and both you and Sue are under a new, and Im sure, a happy home. Grats to the both of you. Now relax and go fishing will ya. LOL B
  7. Ya the salmon is checked off, but a bigg,n would clinch it.I realy want a good one on. Im sure I,ll hook into one the next couple of weeks.
  8. No worries there Johnny. I got the peppers today, but had to get soup and pork belly cured first. Seems a short trip for a fish in the AM, then home to get the peppers done. I will be using the ole propane grill to get it done. What ever works right.
  9. So, you were a bad ass eh? LOL
  10. Finally got lots of rain. Well needed. BUT, the question is, west or east in the AM ? Guess when I wake up, I,ll make the call.

  11. Welcome to the board.
  12. Sure got alot of meat off that leg. Meat in, noodles in, and just the way I like it. Bit of brooth, and lots of noodles. Just enough brooth to sup up with bread. A few shakes of the hot sauce and good to go. Would ship you a bowl full rick, but not sure of the ETA. LOL
  13. Nothing like some smoked turkey soup on a wet damp day. Getting happy happy. Will remove turkey, sperate the meat, put it back in, simmer for about 2 hours then add the noodles. Serve with a loaf of crusty bread. Good for a couple of dinners for us.
  14. We talk on here like we have known each other for years, but have never met. Share a passion of fishing , good italian eats. He gets more then I do.LOL This morning I was passing through woodyville at 6:30 am, way to early for a stop and chat. So on my way back, I had the chance to meet and chat with the one and only Ketchenany. He certianly was not the italian mofia dude I had invisioned. No limo, body gaurds. Oh wait, not all old guys are mofia. A class act fella which I hope to share a fish with this winter. Made the offer, so it,s only up to him to come on up. I thank you sir for the great treats you gave. Very generous of you. I will have to repay by bringing you down some trout or salmon fillets. I got my peppers, green and red. Also some jumbo garlic to put in with them . By the time I got home, I had to get the smoked turkey soup on the go. Only have so much room to do things in my small place.LOL BUSY BUSY BUSY. I also did up a pork belly to make some bacon again. That may change after the 7th day cure. Might roll and wrap in cheese cloth and make a salami. Panchetta (sp?) I got the bread, cheese, sundried tomatoes and fresh olives to accompany that piece of homemade goodness. Will have a plate sunday while Im roasting the peppers. Again, it was an honor and a pleasure to finally meet you Albert. CHEERS B
  15. What year was this Bill? You look 18.LOL
  16. ?????????????? Lets see you lift it up on your shoulders and carry it. LMAO.
  17. I seen this post then seen PM. NOT.LOL Andrew, 4am works for me. Andrew is a super nice guy. Well done byes.
  18. Thanks a bunch guys. As for filming, I gave the crew the day off, along with today. Maybe next time. LOL I had to go back up there this morning. Hell, gas is 88.9 a lt in Stayner, and the Ram sips it like fine wine, so why not. I made it out at dark, threw the toon anchor out and just sat and waited for daylight to come. Even watched a guy fight a fish while sipping on my cup of java. Once the light came, the water was as clear as gin. Totally different then yesterday. Went from east to south. You talk about trying to stay controled in that wind and the current of the river. Was a bit frustrating, but figured it out. I think a small drift sock is in order for this type of fishing from the toon. The bite was slow, boats were way out. I did have a few short strikes. Managed to get me an eater which is just fine by me. Got to talking with some of the regulars there today when I came off . They were interested in my set up. Good bunch of fellas. The one guy I talked to yesterday, offered to open the fish cleaning station for me to use yesterday and did today as well. Looks like were in for some rain tonight, and all day saturday. Gives me a reason to head on down to woodyville get my shepard peppers and get them roasted and stored. Might even get some roasted garlic done in a few jars. A short video from today.
  19. Was to be a weekend of 4 lakes in 4 days, but the season of salmon upon us and steel head to follow, I wanted to try something different. Call it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Taking advantage with the toon, Advantage= getting away, out from the wading crowd on the rivers edge. Out where they cant get. Well today was the day to figure out, where to be. I wasnt expecting much as the run has been behind. It was more of a scouting day. I was up at 2:30 am and only thinking of the days event. Knowing it was way to early to hit the road, I just tossed and turn til 3:45. The hell with it, get up and get on the road. No matter my age, I just want to go.LOL I get to my spot hours before light, but it gave me time to get set up and retie a couple of rods. They didnt need to be, but I had time to kill. I could hear waves crashing the shore. I thought this odd, as there was no wind. Talking to a fella that was there, said yesterday the winds had water rolling in big time. Once there was a bit of light on the horizon, I started my drift out over 3 ft rollers. I could hear the talk on the banks about my craft. All positve. Look at that guy, thats cool. (I wonder if that will be the same when I cut a path during the busy steelhead season?) LOL Not having been out there before, I had asked the help of my buddy James about the lay of the area, I headed out on his advise..Once I thought I was where I was to be, I started to throw a spinner. GBay sunrise, another first. After about a half hour of that, I switched up to floating a row bag till there was enough light to see where I was. No luck with either baits, I had to go with my ole fav. The Kwik fish. A few casts in and fish on. Landed. Bucket list complete. Not a big fish, but landed. Bucket fish completed. A half hour later, line goes limp on a retrive. Reel fast and pull up. Fish on. Number two. Im like this is so awesome. Drifting out and rowwing back (didnt bother with the flippers) several times, I worked the whole mouth. No depth finder required. Just look down and i knew where I was going and knew when I was on my spot after a few times. Fishing with long rods on the toon can be frustrating. Im sure it will get easier. Anyhoo, took me a while to get this video together. Need to get some help on editing. My first salmon and second on the toon. Yah, I sound like a giddy school boy. Like I care. LOL Im having fun. Cant wait to do this again.
  20. I can check off, salmon fishing/landed on the toon. What a great morning. I love it when a change of plans come through. Will be giving this another go in the morning. Totally jacked. What a blast.

  24. I always have a bag on hand and have even started to tie bags to entrances. I think one spot I fish it,s working. Was there this sunday and all three bags were gone. Locals taking full bags down? Who knows. I tied another three before I left. Sure hope it,s working. I didnt have to pick up anything on the banks this day.
