  15. This mornings sunrise was AMAZING. This orange ball off in the horizon. It was spectacular to watch. That was until this noisy tooner , with a gas engine came buy. WHY , WHY WHY ?. LOL I wish I had a way of zooming in on my GP, it was a stunning sight to behold. As for the fishing part, I had double and triple chasers. I could not get any of them to commit. 125 fow down to 100 fow. I was blown away. Some even chased for 2-3 minutes. Go up, fall back, Drop the bait, and they would come screaming in again. Even down sized my presentation. Same results. So you,ll be happy to hear, there was no WACKING, going on today, on the toon.
  16. I really need to go for a walk along a well known stretch up here ,and have my camera rolling. Then again, I dont feel the need to get jumped and my head kicked in, cuz I seen things that I shouldnt. Shane is a well respected member here. He is not talking out his ass. MANY SEE THESE THINGS THAT HAPPEN. Naming race well, thats a touchy subject. I would just say I seen these guys. MAYBE ADD OF DIFFERENT RACE. That is NOT OFFENDING, if you ask me.

  21. Had one of those, oh my god, just like when I was a kid, BBQ movement today. When we (brothers, sister, family and friends ) did picnics at 6 mile lake in the 70,s, the menu was simple. BBQ lemon chicken, corn on the cob, over coals and salads. I still remember those days like it was yesterday. My pop was the BBQ chef . He like I, take from others recipes, that made great food, and made it our own, but never forgot where we got it from. As my propane BBQ had gone for a crap, and waiting til fall for the deals, I turned mine into a charcoal broiler today. My most favorite thing over a coal BBQ as a kid, was pops lemon chicken. I have made it over propane, but never did it seem, or come close, to tasting the same. Funny how it took a few tools to assemble it, but yet, it took one, a hammer, to break out the inners . LOL With the departed chicken resting well in fresh squeezed, lemon and lime juice, I layered the bottom of the Q, with some heavy duty tin foil. Stacked the coals and lit away. The burning charcoal smell reminded me of my youth. It also made me think, one of the neighbors are going to complain. LOL Waiting for the coals to get white, was a pain. This is what happens when you have propane. Light and go.LOL Once the heat was there, it was time to put the sliced potatoes, sprinkled with dill, salt, pepper and garlic, wrapped in foil on. About a half hour later, it was time for the fowl. As I stand and watch and smell, my memory comes back once again. These words just pop out , No, you cant go swimming , you need to wait an hour after eating. I started laughing. Mudders know best. Once all was done, I couldnt wait to sample the chicken. When I bit into it, I can honestly say, it was like when I was a kid. So the price tag of a charcoal BBQing today Bag of coal, $5 They do look fancier . LOL Stupid fire starter $5 Bag of 5 legs $5 Lemons over priced , 80 cents each 12 tall boys, they are on sale. LOL Price of a memory of the past, PRICLESS
  22. Already looking forward to it Dave. Love this video
  23. This is why I like my new salmon fishing venue. A handful of locals and me, the outsider. Not one of us, even think of doing one wrong move. They and I, are on the same page. It is so pleasant to fish with these guys. A couple of them are young, the rest older then I. Great stories shared , The banter of ,cloths line reels vs the coffee grinder reels, is a hoot. Fish are caught and released 90% of the time. Odd one kept for roe and yes, they eat the fish. Most of them smoke their catch and share during our gatherings. Even the share of the wealth of roe, will be shared. Not one takes more then they need. Best bunch of fellas I have ever met. Sure glad I just walked in to stir up a chat way back. Yup Simon, when I first moved to Barrie, I got the low down on the hot spots to fish. I also got a real good look at the LOCALS, ripping fish out of the water. Yes LOCALS. YAHOOS. I was like, WT %$$% IS THIS. I got some real serious looks. Like, you just keep walking and never mind what we are doing. Line as thick as cloths cable, huge trebles with a bit of white yarn. Guess they thought the yarn was a safe way of saying, they are hitting it. Knowing now what I know, they were collecting eggs to sell. This is why now all roe sold, has to be from licensed fish farms. It is all walk of nations, that make this crap show ruin it for those that truly enjoy the salmon season.
  24. Thanks for reminding me Mikey. I agree Steve. Majority of my fishing gear is bought used these days. I will buy new ,if it,s on sale and like said, in my budget. Lots of stuff bought these days is hype, but I will admit, there is a quality presents. Like waders. All the rave about Simms. Ya they are nice, but I cant afford 5-7 hundred for them, so I have a pair that were 150. Treat them well, and they will last. If I get 5 years out of them, they have paid for themself. I remember this one guy on the river talking up his Hardy custom float rod. How it was the best on the market. When I headed back to the truck, he was there trying to separate the sections. Even asked me to help. We could not get it apart. Yup, theres your $,s spent well.
