  1. Good point TJ. So we are good to get $$ off of a Shimano reel then correct? A Curado would be perfect on my new R-Type
  2. Nice job man, there awesome to catch! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  3. Honestly the Mojo Bass rods that were the 7'9 and 7'11 are not that nice. They are heavy and bulky IMO. When feeling those, Shimano Claras, and the Croix Premier I thought they were all heavy rods. I might have fell for the 7'2 MH Rapala R-Type(3/8-1oz). Great price Light weight with backbone and perfect for jigs in the 3/8oz-1/2oz range like I'll be throwing. If I start to get into the 3/4oz and beyond class then a stiffer rod will be perfect I think...Until then I bought the R-Type, very lightweight and felt perfect in my hand. For sparse cover with 40lb Braid or 50lb Braid with a short fluoro leader it will be a perfect match with a Revo STX. Thanks Gagnon's!
  4. Honestly there isn't much rod rod deals. Just BPS brand combo's and BPS rods usually. I'm going to look at a Mojo Bass and a Croix Premier flippin stick's today...As for the reel, the reel trade in is a must....$30 or $40 bucks off is nice when you clean up and bring in a old reel for a kid.
  5. Wow, that a journey and fun time you had. Interesting photo's and catches man! Thanks for the refreshing report, MTBF
  6. Wait, I think I have it backwards. It's ok to bring in a reel for trade(shimano) but we can't get a new shimano reel instore....
  7. what the hell..the only good reel I was going to trade in was a shimano spinning reel...pisses me off now that I need to give a kid some Zebco $5 piece of crap...
  8. I'm not ordering Syn. I'll be going to BPS in a few weeks to buy the reel an get some $ off of the purchase price. As for the rod I'm going to Gagnon's in Oshawa to have a look and to hold a few
  9. Hey Bass anglers, the BPS Spring Classic here and I found a reel to "trade" in and get $40 or so bucks off of my reel purchase...I'm confident in buying either a Revo STX or a Curado E7..I would like the Abu cause of the extra drag power and I can double the 7'6H or MH rod as a Pike setup in the spring. I've been really interested in a solid Abu Vendetta/Revo combo..However those Carrot Stix flippin rods look awesome also...then there is a G.Loomis GL2 7'6 flippin stick,Carbon Lite, Kistler Magnesium rods, shimano crucial...etc O and St Croix Primer! Too many to choose from all in my price range of $90-$180ish Any suggestions?
  10. lol, it's the same obviously
  11. I think they were mentioned as being 7th in the world...
  12. I haven't had a chance to fish them but I have a 7'MH Rapala TS2 Trigger Rod with a Rapala R-Type Baitcaster. I've played around with it in the backyard and it feels pretty solid as a good Spinnerbait/buzzbait rod. This and within a few weeks I'll be buying myself a Revo SX and a new Abu Vendetta 7'6H Flippin Stick for pitching jigs. Going to be a sweet rod/reel
  13. Quantum Accurist...hmm, what model is it. I'm just looking for a photo/info on it.
  14. Hey again guys and gals. In 10 days I'll be heading out the the Great Grandmothers for another visit and some snot rocket Pike fishing hopefully. Just would like to know if anybody has been catch any in the Charleston Lake area? Now, Scugog was a blast yesterday. We went out and set out 12 lines(6 guys) and caught lot's of perch no smaller than 5" but no bigger than two we had at 9-11". Caught fish every 5 mins minimum, then we had 2 rockbass caught as well as a largemouth and a smallmouth(in the 1.5lb range). To top it off we got onto a school of Crappie in the late evening catching 15 Crappie between 4 people that were fishing. All the fish caught on a 1x1m chunk of ice. We were fishing in 11ft of water with 7ft close by. Excessive weed growth some reaching 12" up off bottom. We had the deep section all to ourselves also. So if you are on Scugog my tip is to find deep water. Thanks everybody, I didn't catch any of those crappie but I enjoyed sitting by my friends watching them catch their *first ever's* MTBF
  15. Could you see it being a good flip/pitch reel?
  16. Great job to her and the rest of you! Great way to spend the day for sure! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  17. I buy minnows either in town or 10mins out of town and if there are minnows left at the end of the day I can save them and use them elsewhere. This is common knowledge to me however, the main thing is to never release live bait. Regardless of how close the store is to your favorite body of water do not release the bait.
  18. My Dad took me out and I took him fishing. We caught a handful of Perch with no Pike but still had a blast
  19. I got a 10 size in that gold and in purple ghost...had a gold in the 08 and it worked fine for early season bass...but i lost it and the 10 don't work for me...bought a clown colored and another colored 08 sized xraps...we shall see
  20. Holy Smokes, great job dude. Was out today and only managed a handful of Perch Looks like you had a blast though! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  21. Right On Eh!
  22. Ah ok I see. I got 4 Scuds under my belt. What's the 30" Class called then I got 1 in that class....let's call them "Pike" eh??
  23. There ya go! Awesome Fish! Thanks for sharing, MTBF
  24. Congrad's on the 25" Pike, the PB Perch and the PB Walleye. I never got out today but tomorrow is looking promising. So anything above 25" is not a "snot rocket right"? Lol Thanks for sharing the report bud, MTBF
  25. Thank you sir
