  1. Great looking trout, looks like you had a blast! Thanks for the report
  2. I would love to, but I don't have any chest waders or a net.(I know what fisherman does not have a net) But I do have a pair of rubber boots. Let me know if this is good enough, if not see ya next year when i get some waders...
  3. I'm getting excited here. The lake's edge off his cottage opens out into a small bay with a 2 rocky points that creat a small opening then it re opens into the big Georgian Bay...from the pictures he has showed me looks like perfect pike territory...thanks for the info guys, more info and tips are welcome as always
  4. You think so, they were fairly dark fish and there was just the 3 of them in a line...Either way i just know there fish!
  5. Just took a walk down to the creek and it's not as dirty as i thought...maybe i'll be out there saunday fishing! Also after walking a .5km stretch of creek i saw in the current just before a slow moving pool 2 or 3 fish lined up...so i left them be, i'm guessing they were trout, but there is some instinktive to get me out there this weekend!
  6. Just wondering if any of the trout fishers have caught/seen any suckers in the creeks yet, specifically in the Oshawa creek. Water still looks pretty dirty so i didn't want to go out for no reason. Thanks again, Mike
  7. A friend of mine has a cottage near in the Parry Sound area right on the Georgian Bay. Towards the end of May Some friends and I are going to be going up there. He has a boat but no rods so I'm going to be doing the fishing here and he is no help as the guy has never held a rod before in his life. I know at the time we will be up there pike and panfish will be open and they will be the only 2 things i will be fishing for up there. My question is, what are the fishing conditions like up there(weedy, clear, rocky, or everything and anything), would i have a fairly good chance to catch fish no more than a few hundred feet off shore, and what kind of techniques should i try that may of been productive for you in this area? Any help or info about the Parry Sound area will be much appreciated Thanks, Mike
  8. Personally i think it is none of our business. What people's salary's are, are their own info and should not be told to the public in the first place...if i were in their shoes i would not be complaining. People work for what they earn and if they have been through thousands of dollars of schooling and many years of hard work, then the work to get there has most certainly paid off. Now we can only hope that they will give back to the economy and purchase things... Also in my opinion people that deserve salarys of that much should only be people that are doctors and surgents, after all you can't put a price on somebodys life and saving and extending on peoples lives is what these people do day after day.
  9. Really hmm by this you mean adding some right...never tried that with a topwater bait b4
  10. I think it's fine also. I have caught(not a limit) but a few fish and kept them on the stringer for a few hours then kept on fishing using C/R...As long as he/she is releasing the fish there is no harm done.
  11. I love fishing out in the kingston area(red horse lake, charleston lake...a few others) in the summer for bass, never know maybe we could set something up this season. Have fun out there.
  12. Good video, i was using mono last year and this is why i caught no fish on my frog...i got some braid now for some semi thick weeds.
  13. Awesome job dude. Thanks for sharing!
  14. http://www.bassprofessor.com/elite/originalfishingsnake.php I already got my next shipment in the mail As said before they really do work. I caught a bunch of nice bass and a little pike last year on this great soft plastic topwater. If you can LA get some!
  15. Meh, the 3" leeches work pretty good on a jig or bare hook with split shot for perch/rockbass, and I have yet to use them but the 5" leeches are suppost to be good for bass.
  16. As other's said, you should be fine...maybe cut off a ft or so but other then that your good to go
  17. Great job, Thanks for sharing!
  18. lol, cool looking fish. It's body looks to be like the several bowfin i caught this past summer.
  19. One night in the summer when I was 11 years old i was fishing with my papa and my dad I was about 60ft away from my dad and papa in the pitch dark. I was using a topwater frog and i was casting not knowing where my lure would land...feeling a slight bite i reeled in my bait and did not say a word to my dad, so I took another cast out and it felt like i had a rock on the end of my line...still not saying a word to anybody my drag started ripping off my reel and i knew i had a big fish on the line. After about a minute of fighting the fish in the dark my dad ran over and grabed the fish out of the water and both my dad and papa were shocked to see the fish. It turned out to be my PB Largemouth bass, they weighed it and it was a nice big 6lb largemouth.I have lot's of great fishing moments but my PB largemouth bass is my most favorite experience, there is nothing like fishing in the dark and catching a great big bass. I still have not been able to get a bass over 6lbs but I'm not in a rush to do it either And that's my story!
  20. I have fished many clear water lakes before and never have I used a fluoro leader and i still caught fish. Untill now all i have used is mono line. Since hearing that everybody is using these expensive fluoro lines and leaders i guess it's natural for us fisherman to follow their path, to say the least if what you have been using has worked for you then why bother changing Unless you are using braid as your mainline then you should use a leader but if you ask me mono works well and its a fraction of the cost. I know if i come across some clear water, my braid setup will have a few feet of mono on it but in my mind braid lines are good for those weedy areas of the lake so in that situation you would be fine..
  21. That Dodge is sexy...First truck i will get will be a nice Dodge Ram. Congrads
  22. Now that we have our boat we need something to power it with, specifically a trolling motor. We are not looking at gas motors at this time. The three Bass Pro Shops Prowler trolling motors are what we are looking at but we do not know witch power is best for our boat as we are looking for this motor to be what gets us around the lake as we are not going to be trolling very much. On our 12ft rubber boat we had a 30lb Minn Kota on it and it pushed it along fine but this boat is a lot heavier. The 3 motors are a 30lb, 45lb, and a 55lbs of power. We think the 45 will do it but not sure if we should spend the extra cash and get the 55lb. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...p;currentpage=1 Also power for this motor, what kind of battery should we get, and what kind of charger can we get for the motor(Link please). Hope I can get some help on this one, keep in mind we still have that 30lb Minn Kota handy but again not sure if it will due for a all around boat motor. Thanks for any input
  23. Thanks for this doug.
  24. We have just gave the fish a hit over the head...or like my uncle let them hang for a bit.
