Glad to hear that all turned out for the best! As you said - maybe we could all learn a lesson for your mishap. Thanks for sharing with us. Don -

Hi all, I would like to move my boat from Peterborough to the Bay of Quinte mid October. The problem is - I can't find a boat slip for it. I come from Niagara and really don't want to trailer it every weekend. Does anyone know of any place that rents slips at this time of year? I have tried Picton Harbour Inn - but without any luck. I would like the Picton area - but a short boatride away is ok to? Anybody got any ideas? Thanks Don

Ya - what Corey said. He is always the first to give tips for Lake Erie and Ontario. I personally do not feel this is spam - I love to read his posts. Keep up the good work Fishmaster! Look forward to your next report Don

Count me in as well! - And Glen - don't worry about the shirts - we'll just be heading into Indian summer by then - highs in the low 30's ( farenheit - not celcius! ) Don -
Thanks Mike - I'll give them a call - that is where we stayed last year when we went down for the M&G. I take it that you are referring to the Picton Harbour Inn? Don

Hey Mike - Still got the Tracker in Niagara and the new boat in Peterborough. Had a few problems with the new boat and its been a real hecktic summer. Fishing time has been way down this summer - but it should start picking up! I know its WAY to early to be thinking about putting the boat to bed yet - just curious on the cost ( plan ahead ). Don't worry - i'll be in Quinte in the fall - every weekend if I can find a boat slip - got any suggestions as to a marina? I would like to take the Islander down to Quinte in mid October and leave it there till early December - if I can find a slip. Don

Just wondering what I will be looking at to winterize the inboard/outboard motor on my boat. I have always had outboards before, and did the winterizing myself - but now with the I/O motor I think I would like to take it in , at least for the first year. Any ideas on the costs? Guess I should add that it is a 4.3 OMC Don

No prob! The one on the north end is kinda rough, but the one on Chemong is real nice - with lots of free parking. Don
-
Wow - just when I thought it couldn't get any better! Lew - congrats - you deserve it Joey,Paul, and Pam - May the fishing Gods smile down at you for this act - good on you guys!

On the north end - there is a public (free) launch right in the town of Buckhorn - just down from the lock. On the south end, there is a public launch on Chemong Lake - at the causeway - just south of where Chemong and Buckhorn join. Hope this helps Don

All my boats have had carpet, till this one. It has the vinyl flooring and I just love it - so easy to clean and maintain. As far as where to get it - I am not sure of any places locally - but it is available in the cabelas catalogue. Hope it helps Don

A simple solution would to make the wearing of a pfd manditory - then boaters would not have a choice. I for one am ashamed to say that I hardly ever wear one - till now!. I NEVER go out on the ice without my floater suit - so why not wear one in the boat. My prayers and thoughts go out to the family - and I for one hopefully have learned from this tragity! Don

Google Bridgenorth. There is a causeway in Bridgenorth that divides Chemong Lake into 2 sections. On the far end of the causeway there is a free public launch with free parking as well. There is also a restaurant ( Sip and Dip ) right across the road from the launch to grab a coffee or what ever. Don

Welcome to the board from a fellow Niagaratarian. Don

Thanks Kevin - great info! I know that it works wonders on the 2 stroke motors, but have never heard anyone talk about using it on inboard/outboards. My 4.3 motor is running a little rough and I thought that it might help. I'll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks again Don
